2023.03.21 11:56 DarkNuttRises "String Theory"

it's called String Theory because the 20 sided Icosahedron, when triangles are paired in a certain order, and accepting that space is "curved", we can create "curved" squares. this yields 10 squares. and when each square is treated as a minecraft dimension, going to the end of a world and it "loading" a new map is treated as a dimension. string 10 of these dimensions together, and you get string theory! the premise of the object is to server as a visual representation of how you traverse through dimensions. you end up traveling through each dimension twice. if the first dimension is treated as "1", and you head north and only north the entire way through, you end up in the first dimension in the 8th layer but coming from the east side. when completing all 20 layers, you arrive at the first dimension coming from the south, completing the loop. going west, you end up in the first dimension in 14 layers, but coming from the south. going east, you'll get to the first dimension in 8 layers too. going south, 14 layers. going north, in order of dimensions 1-10, the ones you enter in order are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 8, 3, 9, 5, 10, 7, 2, 8, 4, 9, 6, and then 10, before it loops. its interesting that traveling through dimensions comes out of order. the 10th dimension comes 10th and 20th. perhaps larger square and triangle based polyhedrons can be turned into minecraft dimension chains.

2023.03.21 11:55 Fearless-Physics Some basic questions for a starter

I just got my second 3DS. I plan on hacking this one and putting CFW on it, and using hshop to fill the SD-card with lots of games.
The device has not been hacked yet. I am currently in the settings that you do after every favtory reset (time, date, internet, etc.) and here's my first question:
  1. Should I connect it to the internet now or only later after the hack?
In order to make sure to not get some kind of penalty on my "clean" Nintendo account/NNID, I do not want to link this device to my Nintendo account/NNID.
  1. Should I create a new Nintendo account/NNID for this purpose or do you not even need one at all?
  2. What are some general, common risks and things to absolutely avoid when you own a hacked 3DS with pirated games?
Thanks a lot!

2023.03.21 11:54 Brain-Shocker Suitable Woodburning / Carving Materials Online order UK?

My woodburner arrives today and I'm looking for some suitable materials to test it on. Can anyone share links to items they have ordered from Amazon UK that are of decent quality but not too expensive?
There is so much stuff on there and I don't know what is good or rubbish. I don't want to spend a fortune since I will need to practice first, but I obviously don't want to order materials that aren't fit for purpose.
Any help would be appreciated!

2023.03.21 11:54 jforrest1980 Just beat Aria & Dawn of Sorrow Back to Back: What Next?

Both amazing games BTW. Dawn of Sorrow is the clear winner though. It was such a great game. Not on SotN level, but still 9/10 good. Aria I would consider 8.5/10 good.
So what next?
SotN - Beat it many times, but it's been ages. I feel like I should finish the series out first.
Circle of the Moon - I hear it's hard. I love hard games.
Harmony of Despair - Never hear much about it. For that reason I don't want to cap off the series on it. But at the same time I don't think I want to play it directly after the greatness of the Sorrow saga.
Portrait of Ruin - Bloodlines is low-key a strong entry in the series. I'm curious to see what direction it goes.
Order of Ecclesia - It looks amazing. I played it a very small amount last year.
DOR or AOS Julius Mode - I feel like I should move on and come back later when I need a fix. I have no idea how good these modes are though.
Bloodstained RotN - My Switch Kickstarter version has been staring at me.
I have all the games on hand. I just have to decide.

2023.03.21 11:54 larpingquasi New to tech

I am in the process of getting my first degree. Bachelors in Comp Sci. I have no idea what I actually want to do in tech, but I know I don’t want to do coding. I live in NYC with 3 toddlers so to be honest my #1 priority is to land a very high paying position (work my way up in a good company) ($150k+). If it’s a matter of a few thousand dollars, I would rather go for a lower stress/less work load position.
What are some of the higher paying careers in tech, that ideally allow work from home, but definitely not necessary?
Any certifications you recommend?
If you could go back and start over, what would you do differently?

Log: 6000001.0.16, Personal, Captain Yormdrill

The tactic Greggory had proposed Is not a new one, but...
We met the reinforcing squadrons before the local day broke. I could see by the way they strode from their shuttle with weapons in their upper hands and a sidearm in their dominant lower hands that these were fighting men. I can hardly imagine using only two arms to stabilize my rifle, let alone using my free hand to fire a pistol. Gregory simply raised an eyebrow, as if he was wondering how effective the technique could be.
The officers began to introduce themselves, but Greggory interrupted them saying, "I don't intend to embarrass myself getting your names wrong," he pointed to each of them in turn, "I'll call you Red Leader, you Blue Leader, and you Green Leader. Your squads are Red, Blue, and Green squads respectively. You can call me Sneaky and our squad Sneaky squad."
Blue Leader seemed to rankle, "And who are you to give orders?"
"I asked for veterans," Greggory began flatly, "what are you a veteran of?"
"Four boarding actions, repelling."
"I am a veteran of a planetary resistance to the Consumptives, a planetary assault landing, thirty-two combat drops, three boarding actions, and four repelling actions. I have either been in training or combat since I was ten years old. When you ask who I am to give orders, here's the answer: I'm the one man on this planet who could take out every last one of those gangers without them ever seeing me once. I'm the one man on this planet who has taken part in destabilizing a superior enemy force. I am the one man on this planet who knows what the void he's talking about. I'm voiding Sneaky, the one from the memes, and I'm here to teach this part of the galaxy what happens if you touch my family. Fall in, marine, and shut up until you have something less stupid to say."
So calm was his tirade, that it unsettled Blue Leader, who simply shifted his feet while Green Leader asked, "Are you some kind of sniper?" Which Gregory answered by nodding, so he followed up, "With a plasma caster?"
"It wouldn't be my first choice. Low projectile velocity, very obvious when firing, low penetration. I can do the work, though."
"We do not have many snipers outside the anti-pirate fleets, and this force is add-hoc. We could probably get you a magnetic accelerator, though. Our Master at Arms keeps a very well-stocked armory."
"Please, see what you can arrange, but I don't want to wait around for it. Like I said, I can do the work."
Red Leader interjected, "This is well, we also wish to get the work done. It is clear that you have the most relevant experience, yours is the command."
"Wonderful. Okay, what are your squad compositions? What, if any specialists do you have?"
Red Leader began, "My squad is comprised of all former anti-piracy marines. We don't have any planetary experience, but this city is not too different from the stations we've boarded. I can command it either as an assault force, flank support, or fire support unit."
Green Leader followed, "My men have repelled multiple boarding actions, and we don't have experience fighting in such open areas. However, we have a high degree of accuracy, since our ship drills regularly." I felt a little chagrinned at that, as so few of us passed Greggory's test to join his rescue mission due to how lax I was and am with firearms training.
Blue Leader grudgingly followed, "We're mainly a salvage outfit. We have some cutting and demolitions equipment, and the know-how to use it. Otherwise, we've fended off multiple scorched scavenger attacks."
"Did any of you bring sustained fire weapons?"
Blue Leader answered, "One of my small teams has a mining laser that can be used as a crew served weapon."
"Each of my fire teams has a rapid fire magnetic accelerator. On rapid fire, they can sustain a five second stream before reloading the ferrous block," Red Leader said.
"The laser beam lasts around ten seconds."
"My squad has only the carbines," Green Leader said.
"Link to my visor, with our assets, I believe we can convince most of the hostiles to surrender or flee before assaulting the building. Let's get one thing clear now, we do not shoot if they surrender. We do not back the criminals into a corner."
I was crouched beneath a window sill on the third floor of a building overlooking a narrow street. Greggory was right, our limited activities had encouraged bolder patrols, this one was fourty men and a ground vehicle with what looked like a heavily modified industrial cutting laser mounted in the back. They would not have stood a chance against Sneaky Squad. I rose up slowly, and lined up my opening shot on the gunner in the vehicle. Gregory signaled the start by taking the head off of the Tourounti who was very obviously shouting orders. Her abdomen walked her headless torso along for a few more paces before it collapsed in a chitinous heap. I put the gunner out of our misery and idly wondered if the ganger leader was related to a certain defense barrister.
I had not been the only one to choose a target, and the lucky few gangers who had tossed down their weapons were allowed to live. Allowed to see more of us, and carry the same message of how to survive back to their fellows along with the reminder that they can't count on being so lucky twice. Next time they might be the opening target.
I find myself disturbed by just how much carnage the gangers are willing to absorb. We want their leaders, not them. Perhaps they fear their leaders more than us? I feel this will not remain the case.
After the battle, he instructed Red and Green squads to circle around to the opposite side of the ganger headquarters and ambush a ganger patrol that was likely to be in the area, while Blue squad came with us to ambush a larger patrol force. This one perhaps sixty men. They panicked the moment Gregory took the leg off of one of the two team leaders. They fired wildly all about them, screamed curses, prayers, and calls to their mothers or fathers to come save them. The lower accuracy of our teammates lead to a larger number of wounded, and we let the five survivors drag them away. Then, it was time to do it again.
By the fifth ambush, they began to surrender before half of them were either dead or wounded. They were relieved of their weapons, and sent away with the same message, and the reminder that some always die before the surrender.
We were preparing our tenth ambush of a very large force, it looked to be over a hundred, but we saw they had one of their number in bonds, and were carrying their weapons by the barrels, with either the stocks or grips up toward the sky.
I recognized one of the lieutenants.
"Lay down your arms," Greggory announced with the help of some speakers placed for the purpose. They did so, "Now march forward until I say stop. Stop. Place your hands on your heads and kneel. Except the four of you holding that void sucker. Good, now wait there."
Greg ordered Blue squad to cover us, and we came out into the open to receive our prisoner.
"He wants to know why we're doing this," Quindrum translated.
"Because you touched my family. You get to help teach a lesson," Greggory said before whipping the top of his foot into the side of the officer's knee, sending him sprawling to the ground, "and the lesson is to never do that. The rest of you, walk forward slowly. If I see you with weapons, you won't see me. You'll just die."
The massive surrender was a balm to my soul. I had begun to fear that annihilation was the only option.
"Instruct the shuttle that his cell is to have no mattress or blankets. He is to be fed bread and water until time can be made for his judgement," Gregory ordered while the retreating gangers were still in earshot.
It was unfortunate that the other team did not have such an event. Their four ambushes had gone much the same way as our previous ones.

Dear Diary,

Things are starting to look a little better. Mom says that the gangers on the planet have started surrendering instead of fighting, so that's good. On top of that, the Justiciar is here, and will be able to start holding trials tomorrow. She is an impressive ship, The Light of Justice in the Darkness seems to sort of glide through space. It's a bit intimidating to be so close to her, and with a hundred Magistrates and their retinues aboard... I think that instead of finding a penal ship to send someone to, they'll have to commission one and give her a fitting difficult mission.
Yoiv has been going around telling everyone that he knew that Sneaky would rescue him from the very start, so he wasn't afraid at all. I caught him crying in Greg's berth though. If he wasn't afraid before, he is now. The ship's other littles are all convinced that it's all better now, but Yoiv has his own fears. His own worry. My job isn't over.

2023.03.21 11:52 lissandrafootjob Skin ideas for every champ - S

Hello everyone!
We have finally arrived to the longest post of this series. Boy, did this take forever...
Let's just get into it I say, shall we?
Samira
I like her a lot, but even if I didn't, she's just a damn good material for skin ideas. I mean I don't remember when was the last time I came up with so many for a single champion.
BilgewateCaptain: Tattoos? Check. Gun and sword? Check. Eye patch? Check. Certified pirate material.
Battle Queen: Undeniably is one.
Crime City: Having a gun is already more than enough. Would also just love to see her in Renata's outfit.
DragonslayeBeast HunteZombie Slayer: I believe she got both the bravery and the skill for all of these jobs. Especially good weapon combination for ZS, probably I'd make the sword into a machete.
Vandal/Road Warrior: Just put some leather and spikes on her gear, maybe a motorcycle on the recall. That'd be bad as hell. In a good way.
Odyssey/Dreadnova: Galactic bounty hunter.
Tomb Raider: I have a feeling she'd love the thrill of dodging a hundred deadly traps to get some shiny treasure.
Vigilante/Supervillain: Honestly she could both be a hero or villain. Her acrobatics, weapons and general coolness already make this fitting. Something like a female deadpool perhaps.
Cyber Pop: Straight outta Edgerunners, a female cyborg supersoldier. I'd make half her body metal, which would also work very nicely with her half eye.
Project: At some point she needs a project skin, she's just too good of a fit. Kinda similar to CP, but visually the two are distinguishable so I'd keep both.
Pentakill: I'm not sure if she needs an instrument to be in Pentakill or not, I just thought the aesthetics fit her nicely, plus her name is basically a synonym for Pentakill.
Sejuani
Sejuhoney: Riding a giant adorable bee.
Catjuani: Riding a giant adorable kitty.
Elderwood: Riding a giant - not necessarily adorable but more fantasy based forest creature.
High Noon: Riding a bull.
Senna
Buccaneer: Like Tristana's skin, but her cannon would bee a bit bigger. Actually, a lot bigger.
Broken Covenant: Similarly to the design of her base cannon, but with lots of stained glass.
Odyssey: Give Karma a giant laser cannon and it's done.
Pulsfire: Out of all, this is porbably the skin that would make the most out of her extraordinary firearm. Basically combine Pulsfire Riven's sword with Caitlyn's gun and make it even bigger and even techier.
Seraphine
Academy: She has the schoolgirl vibes, she might be part of a music clique or club.
Cafe Cuties: She has the vibes and the outfit also matches.
Crystal Rose: Something elegant but still light and pretty.
Goldenthroat: A DnD/Rift Quest skin, she is a perfect fit for a bard archytype, since their core theme is music and performing. Couldn't think of a better name rn.
Sett
Battle Wolf: He's more wolf than Sylas is, so he has a rightful place here. It's not like he doesn't belong here at all.
Battle Academia: Jayce type of pretty boy vibes is what I imagine.
El Lobo: If anyone, this man is a flawless fit for the Luchador skin line. Like that ultimate is a wrestler move already.
Super: A standard superstrength-punchy hero, works I reckon.
Cyber Pop: Remember Jax? No, not six-eyed Jax, the other Jax from Mortal Kombat. Thaaat Jax. Hell yeah.
Shaco
Devil: I'm not the first to come up with this idea, but it's truly not a bad one.
Omen of the Dark: You could do so many things with his mask here, but a basic plague doctor outfit would work perfectly fine too.
Blood Moon: He's an assassin so I don't need further reasons.
Surprise Party: He's a literal clown, I mean-
Fright Night: This is frankly less of a skin and more of a chance to redesign the character so it actually lives up to the "Demon Jester" title. Give me the Pennywise.
Shen
While looking for skins for this guy, I realised that he may have a simple-a$$ design, but unlike Garen, it's in a good way, because he literally works with almost any freaking skin line lmao. Well at least that's what I felt like. And here I thought I got a lot for Samira haha. This is probably the new record with 14 skin ideas.
Debonair: So Shen being an older male character who is a master with duty etc. gives me the feeling of respectfulness, politeness, elegance etc. so I think he fits the vibe of Debonair pretty well, not to mention that he would get to be in one skin group with Zed, which is nice. Besides, it couldn't hurt to bring forward that 'daddy' energy he has hidden inside. Not too much, just tastefully. All his skins go for the cool ninja fantasy, it's high time for a different approach. (But please don't make him younger like Yi, eugh.)
Chef: Not sure what cuisine to go for, I simply imagined him in a chef's hat crossing his arms holding two big knifes - his swords - to chop something up.
Gatekeeper: Based on his connection to the spirit realm, I thought this would be a fitting skin that does something similar.
Balance Dragon: He has some things in common with Lee - who has Storm Dragon - and in general I find this a great fit.
Battle Professor: Like Grave's skin. Again, being an older master character, he has no issue filling a teacheprofessor role.
Full Metal: Since he doesn't have a fully robotic skin yet, I chose one for him. Like Pantheon or Jayce, just with different weapons.
Weightless Sword: The Immortal Journey group, I find no reason why he wouldn't work here.
Warden: Full silver armor, like Karma but male. The name already describes Shen well.
Odyssey: Just to have a space skin too, let's add this to the list as well. In this universe I think of him kinda like Heimdall, only instead of teleporting you anywhere, he teleports anywhere where you are, to save you. Shen fits Heimdall's character and thus the skin line perfectly imo.
Project: Needs not much explanation, he isn't a bad pick here either.
Shen Hai Scrolls: I could say I chose this purely for the pun, but honestly I could also see this actually work.
Spirit Blossom: Not because it's a popular skin line, but because Shen does in fact fit here flawlessly. SB has eastern aesthetics and he is a a ninja from Ionia. No wonder it works.
Ruined/Sentinel: Both sound equally interesting to me, eg. what if Viego gained access to the Spirit Realm? If I was him, I'd definitely try to choose useful people to corrupt and in this sense, Shen sounds like a damn useful one.
Officer: Just a little fun skin a the end, I could easily imagine Shen as a cop, with the swords being a normal (L shaped, well sort of) and an extandable baton, and at the ultimate he comes at the aid of an ally, aka, a law abiding citizen and arrests the enemies for attempted murder.
Shyvana
Justicar: White dragon with golden eyes, horns and talons. Light effects for abilities.
Elderwood/Old God: Some kinda forest dragon. Leaves for scales, brances for horns.
Dark Star: Saw this concept already somewhere, but I also thought it'd be pretty cool. What I really like about this is that it would make Shyvana be on one level with A'sol, the fight of the two cosmic dragons, hell yeah.
Broken Covenant: Imagine a dragon version of BC Cho. Could be awesome as hell.
Hextech: She could have some kind of special interaction with the hextech drake, like a dance or something, that would be so fun.
Lunar Guardian: I'd aim for a look like that of Malphite and Kha'zix. Yellow, brown and cloudy effects.
Emberwing: The DnD/Rift Quest skin line cannot be complete without a dragon BBEG.
Dawn-/Nightbringer: Can't explain it in too much detail, but it'd surely have epic vfx.
Worldbreaker: A gigantic dragon could surely fill this title. I'd definitely try to go for something that I suggested with A'sol, when I mentioned Quetzalcoatle, so a feathered dragon in this case.
Singed
Arcanist: He'd use some kind of spell potion.
Monster Tamer: He'd have a pokémon-like monster attached to his back that breathes toxic gases.
Guardian of the Sands: A big broken hourglass and the trail is sand.
Botanist: Some kind of poisonous plant in a big glass jar.
Sion
Execusion(er): Just put a black mask on him and he already looks like an executioner.
Marauder: Kinda like alistar but with a different helmet.
Fright Night: Probably too similar to the executioner, but you could do a couple of things with this guy to make him even more horroristic, since he already has a good base for it.
Beast Hunter: He got the body and the weapon to be one.
Gentleman: Like with Cho, just for the fun.
Zombie: I mean technically he already is one, so just make him and his spell effects green, and change his axe for a yellow sign that says "Warning! Zombie outbreak"
Sivir
Pirate: Throwing the ship's steering wheel.
Broken Covenant: I'd go for the warrior nun vibe like with MF, and ephasise the cross pattern on her weapon plus add some stained glass to it.
Fright Night/Zombie Slayer: The core idea here, is a buzz saw, either skin could be good for it.
Pool Party/Ocean Song: Same thing as with Qiyana, pool floaty.
Skarner
Blackfrost: Natural pick.
Broken Covenant: Some similar to Cho level monstrous look.
Hextech: Not much to say.
Infernal: Fire scorpion.
Lunar Guardian: Something like Kha'zix.
Kaiju/Worldbreaker: Giant scorpion.
Prehistoric: I'm sure it can work somhow.
Toy: His features could easily be made into toy parts.
Sona
Arcana: Idk, just felt like it's aesthetic enough for her.
Cafe Cuties: She matches the vibe plus you could do a couple of things with her instrument like use it as a counter and put muffins on it or idk. Maybe that's stupid, just a thought.
Cosmic Symphony: I think it could work and she could have some really epic vfx.
Porcelain: Very nice and subtle, matches Sona. Also, would love to see her with a more dark blue hair like Lux.
SilentChord: Same idea as Sera's Goldenthroat.
Soraka
Heartseeker: Just a good match.
Crystal Rose: Same.
Lunar Empress: Same.
SolaLunar Eclipse: She already has both Dawn- and Nightbringer, but her cosmic theme makes this fit her well too.
Cosmic Savior: Similar, but really just cosmic and not sun/moon themed.
Elderwood: Leans more into her fanatsy appearance and further emphasises it.
Pure Phoenix: Like Graceful Phoenix Sera, I thought it's a good fit. Besides a p's tear heals, doesn't it? Or is that only a thing in HP?
Order of the Lotus: Haven't used this skin line before so why not, but it's matches anyways, it's a bit like Spirit Blossom.
Ambulance: The best and funniest skin she could have, this is kinda her meme already, well, other than banana. Ambulance outfit, siren light and sound effect when she runs towards a low health ally.
Swain
Headmaster: Same as with Shen, an older character so he fits the role perfectly. I imagine a magical school that he leads and his ravens are owls instead. Think of it as if Lucius Malfoy was the headmaster of Hogwarts, with his personal owls.
Crime City Nightmare: The usual maffia boss thing, which suits him very well.
Elderwood: Would concentrate more on the birds and attach a forest theme through them.
Dreadnova: Dictator of a space nation.
Sylas
Guardian of the Sands: I think he would work in a shuriman/desert outfit and the golden chains fit that region too.
Hextech: He doesn't have a techy robotic skin yet besides Project so I chose this.
Infernal: Flaming chains.
Marauder: A more rough, armored look. Might add some spikes to the chains.
Ruined: Lore-wise I think it would be an interesting combo, because he's a key figure in Demacia.
Syndra
Pirate: Her balls are cannon balls.
Battle Boss: She easily fits this final arcade boss vibe.
Arcanist: A more mage look, something like Ziggs, who's bombs' design also work for her.
Beendra: The balls are cute round bees.
Cafe Cuties: She may not be the same kinda cutie as the others, but you can make the balls into teapots are some kinda sweets even.
Infernal: Fireballs.
Coven: Probably the best fit for her.
Dark Star: Although this one's close too, cause you can make the balls into black holes.
Fright Night: Eyeballs.
Space Groove: A more colourful, fun skin. Could just make her balls some of those bright orange jelly orbs.
Sugar Rush: Ice cream or just cherries, anything that's round and sweet.

And we're finally done with S. I knew this was gonna take a load of time, but it took even more than I expected. Anyways, bye.

2023.03.21 11:51 CutMyself2Day Bedsheets are really overrated, it's just more fun to cover yourself with pillows or your own clothes or whatever really

Basically what the title says, bedsheets are just... too convenient, you know? There's no struggle in pulling the bedshits up to your neck and being warm, I want to struggle a little... Like, without bedsheets you have to position the pillows and clothes strategically (like I am doing rn) in order to feel warm, and if you want to UP the difficulty level (and excitement/fun) turn the fan on (I don't turn it up too much, only the first velocity) so that you have extra cold if you don't cover yourself well enough...
Yeah that's basically it, fuck bedsheets honestly so boring

2023.03.21 11:51 Fugaazzi Minnesota Lawmakers Take Up Bill To Create Psychedelics Task Force To Plan For Legalization

A Minnesota House committee on Thursday took up a bill to establish a task force to study and advise on the potential legalization of psychedelics like psilocybin, MDMA and ibogaine.
As lawmakers in the state continue to advance a measure to legalize marijuana, the House Health Finance and Policy Committee agreed to pause further action on the psychedelics reform bill from Rep. Andy Smith (D) after adopting an amendment meant to bolster its bipartisan appeal.
The idea is to hold it over in committee so that it can possibly be incorporated into broader omnibus health legislation that’s in the works.
“We’ve seen many, many studies across the medical community that show these drugs have incredible potential to help with various psychological disorders— whether it’s addiction, whether it is OCD, depression, seasonal depression, trauma health,” Smith said. “There’s a wide range of issues that are incredibly helped with these medicines, and that’s why I think we should really start to look seriously at legalizing these drugs in Minnesota.”
Under the bill, a Psychedelic Medicine Task Force would be established in order to “advise the legislature on the legal, medical, and policy issues associated with the legalization of psychedelic medicine in the state.”
The 23-member task force would have to consist of officials and experts, including the governor or a designee, the health commissioner, the state attorney general or a designee, two tribal representatives, people with expertise in substance misuse treatment, public health policy experts, military veterans with mental health conditions and more.
As introduced, the proposal stipulated that the House majority leader and Senate majority leader would each appoint two members of the task force. But the committee adopted an amendment on Thursday to let the minority leaders of both chambers each have one of those appointments.
The amendment was intended to make the bill “more bipartisan than it already is,” Smith, the sponsor, said in committee on Thursday.
Task force members would be required to “survey existing studies in the scientific literature on the therapeutic efficacy of psychedelic medicine in the treatment of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder, and any other mental health conditions and medical conditions for which a psychedelic medicine may provide an effective treatment option,” the bill text says.
“Psychedelic medicine may include but is not limited to the use of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), psilocybin, mescaline, LSD, bufotenine, DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, 2C-B, ibogaine, salvinorin A, and ketamine,” it continues.
The task force would need to further assess whether any particular psychedelic is effective in the treatment of any of those conditions, compare that efficacy to conventional drug treatments and develop a plan that considers the “statutory changes necessary for the legalization of psychedelic medicine.” The body would also need to consider state and local regulation of the substances, as well as federal policy “with a focus on retaining state autonomy to act without conflicting with federal law.”
“The task force shall submit two reports to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over health and human services that detail the task force’s findings regarding the legalization of psychedelic medicine in the state, including the comprehensive plan developed under subdivision,” it says. “The first report must be submitted by February 1, 2024, and the second report must be submitted by January 1, 2025.”

2023.03.21 11:49 Bartoni17 One wild ride of an interview with Polish NT goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski from Bologna. He jokingly asked prime minister for 10 million PLN bonus and he accepted it.

Recently Łukasz Olkowicz from Przegląd Sportowy made an interview with Łukasz Skorupski. Here's original: https://przegladsportowy.onet.pl/pilka-nozna/reprezentacja-polski/wszystko-wyplynelo-tak-sie-klocilismy-o-premie-ze-nie-gadalismy-z-pewnymi-zawodnikami/ys6v8bj
And here’s translation:

Łukasz Olkowicz: You know what interests people.

Lukasz Skorupski: Bonus?

Bonus. Didn't it occur to you that people would be furious when they found out about it?

Łukasz Skorupski: We knew. We were talking to each other and we knew they could be fucking furious.

And that didn't stop you?

Łukasz Skorupski: It wasn't our idea. The prime minister promised a bonus. In words, nothing on paper.

But you agreed.

Łukasz Skorupski: There was a chat between us: We'll get it - nice. We'll not get it? We didn't go crazy about it. You understand? The bonus was too much because it was too big.

You negotiated part of it yourself. At dinner with the prime minister, you got ten million more.

Łukasz Skorupski: I was talking about something, but it was for funnies. And the prime minister accepted it. In my opinion, at such tournament, we should not talk about the bonus at all, everything should be settled on paper before the World Cup. There was little we could do. They told us about it just before leaving to Qatar, we were goiing to the airport right away. Normally, we would have arranged this beforehand.

When did you start talking about the bonus in Qatar?

Łukasz Skorupski: After promotion from the group. Some things journalists wrote were true, some things not. Arguments started between us, talks with the coach. We've all been so excited in the team, I'll be honest: bonus, bonus, when is the bonus?

And you know what's best?

That you didn't get it?

Łukasz Skorupski: No, that the team had a great atmosphere at the tournament. For example, we would come back from training and sing songs. We laughed that we are like Brazil. Because this Brazil was having fun after each training on drums, and we would come back and sing songs from the 90s, 2000s. We had our loudspeaker in the back, everyone chose, and then the rest picked up. Great stuff. Same music at the gym. It was fucking awesome, really. After the games we went out for dinner, we took care of the atmosphere. We were a good group, we were close. The atmosphere was fantastic and then it all went downhill.

Money ruined it. You had an argument over the distribution of the bonus.

Łukasz Skorupski: We are promoted fromt the group and instead of being happy, we suddenly started arguing about this bonus. You'll have so much, others so much. But we were arguing so much that we didn't talk to certain players. And the day before we sang together. The match against France was approaching. "Lewy" says, the team council: "Gentlemen, let's make a deal. We can't think about the bonus, only about the match." We agreed not to talk about this bonus anymore. With all due respect to money, but no one on the team lacks it. Calm came back, we played the game.

The best in the tournament.

Łukasz Skorupski: And then the story began in the newspapers.

Did you follow this?

Łukasz Skorupski: I read something, but you know more... They promised us an exaggerated bonus, but instead of being happy that we were promoted from the group, they started to shit on us.

You have exposed yourself. Wouldn't you be better off if you said, "We got lost in this, we lost our heads for a moment"? You said yourself the bonus was exaggerated.

Łukasz Skorupski: The media live off such information.

The media mainly shot at Czesław Michniewicz (NT coach) because of the bonus.

Łukasz Skorupski: I'll tell you that I felt a bit sorry for him. I had a good relationship with him.

Why didn't you answer?

Łukasz Skorupski: To whom?

To journalists. In his defense, if you wanted him to stay.

Łukasz Skorupski: We have agreed internally that we do not talk about it with the media. I guess "Lewy" later gave an interview about it, right?

And Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Łukasz Skorupski: Later, when we got along and the match against France was over, we sat down for dinner, drank some wine and everyone got over it.
Has the tension released?
Łukasz Skorupski: We didn't talk about the bonus anymore. A lot of people left immediately after the game. But let me tell you in general - the atmosphere was great. It was beautiful in that respect. Beautifully.

Have you heard discussions from Poland about the style of the national team's play? That people have doubts?

Łukasz Skorupski: We sometimes talked among ourselves that the style was average.

The team was successful, but people turned up their noses. Did you understand the criticism? Objections from fans and journalists?

Łukasz Skorupski: We understood, but we kept telling ourselves that the result is the most important thing. And the results were good?

Were.

Łukasz Skorupski: The game wasn't beautiful, everyone said it was ugly, but it delivered results. Why are you looking at me like that? We advanced from the group? We advanced.

Did you like this game?

Łukasz Skorupski: Damn... I don't want to criticize Czesio like that either. The coach sets the tactics. He wanted us to play that way, so we did what he told us.

Did you believe in this tactic?

Lukasz Skorupski: What? It woked. We advanced from the group. At the club you play quite differently, more football. On the other hand, I understand Czesio a little. When was he supposed to train it? Like in the World Cup, we played every three days.

Others played differently.

Łukasz Skorupski: Fuck, who were we playing with? With Argentina. They are the best players in the world, they set their own tactics.

And with Mexico?

Łukasz Skorupski: And what, did Mexico play well with the ball? Better than us?

You and they played not to lose. There wasn't too much risk.

Łukasz Skorupski: After all, we wanted to win. If we had scored a penalty, we would have won. What... We played so poorly?

The match against Mexico was considered the worst at the World Cup. Skorup, teeth hurt.

Lukasz Skorupski: Really? I do not know what I can say. But what, in total we drew 0-0. Should I criticize the coach now?

No, just don't get off topic. Tell me how did you react?

Łukasz Skorupski: We were aware that the fans were attacking us. On the other hand, such a tournament is the biggest in life, you don't want to spoil anything. And you can't go wrong. You understand? One mistake and it's over. You know you can't lose the first game. You play tournaments differently than you play qualifying. We wanted to leave this group, for us it was a success, wasn't it? When was such a success last time?

Łukasz Skorupski: And why is it not talked about at all? There was talk about the bonus and style, and the fact that Poland went to the World Cup and left the group after 36 years and there was silence. Did we play badly against France?

Well.
Lukasz Skorupski: You see. We lost, but individually we were blown away by players who are the best in the world. Why do you think we played like that in Qatar?

Because that's what the coach chose. I think he thought the result would cover everything. It did not cover. The first such a long discussion about style has begun in Poland, in which both sides have arguments.

Łukasz Skorupski: Exactly, everyone has their own opinion. I'm interested in winning matches, points. I'm out for the rest. For me, the most important thing is the result.

You don't care about style?

Lukasz Skorupski: No. I don't care when someone says that the national team or Bologna play badly. There are three points? There Are. Thank you. Who will remember in ten years how we played. They will remember our results.

Or that in the match against Argentina you ran to survive and lose as little as possible.

Łukasz Skorupski: It was our match for everything. It is known that this Argentina eats us with talent, right? We were there more with such working our assess off, we chose the simpliest football. We were tried to stay in the tournament. We couldn't risk anything. Nothing. That's the truth.

But then it goes out into the world that one of you ran around asking them not to shoot again.

Łukasz Skorupski: But is it true?

You tell me.

Łukasz Skorupski: I don't know if anyone asked for it. Any Argentinian could say that. Honestly, I haven't heard anything like that.

You are the goalkeeper. Don't you think outfield players want to have some fun with the ball so it doesn't fly over their heads?

Lukasz Skorupski: Points. Result. That's the most important thing for me.

Maybe you don't get tired, but such Piotr Zieliński for sure.

Lukasz Skorupski: Ha, ha. Well, I think he was struggling in Qatar. He played somewhere on the right or left side. We used "Zielu" wrong, and he has such skills.

What is the problem?

Łukasz Skorupski: See how he plays for Napoli. You pass him the ball, he has three players on his back and he won't lose it.

Why can't this be applied to the national team? Not only with Michniewicz, it was there before.

Lukasz Skorupski: I don't know. I think the defenders and the goalkeeper also have to play well.

We don't have players so weak to play so badly.

Łukasz Skorupski: Well, no, I think the same. It'll be all right.

With Santos?

Lukasz Skorupski: I don't know him. I mean I know him as a coach, but I don't know what the style will be.

He said defense is the most important thing.

Łukasz Skorupski: Do you know what Allegri was saying? You know what Chiellini and Bonucci were talking about? That the Italian championship is won by those who concede the fewest goals.

In the national team, you got in touch with Jacek Góralski. You have a similar past.

Łukasz Skorupski: Maybe he has even worse.

Downtown. Bydgoszcz.

Lukasz Skorupski: Oh Jesus. We talked about it. He told me a lot, had a few actions.

Did you like each other right away?

Lukasz Skorupski: Right away. "Góral" is direct. Fucking great dude.

Dude, buddy or friend?

Lukasz Skorupski: A friend. From the national team he and "Zielu". The best.

But with Piotr Zieliński, you are fire and water.

Łukasz Skorupski: We get along. He is also so…

What?

Łukasz Skorupski: Not as much of a psycho as me, but a similar mentality.

What do you mean?

Łukasz Skorupski: Also such a fox, he had some actions when he was young.

I've seen his posts on the internet.

Lukasz Skorupski: Not that. Some fights, no fights. "Zielu" is fucking great. First of all, helpful, if you need something, it's right away. You know, he plays for Napoli, the Champions League and doesn't try to be a star at all.

In the movie "Transsiberian" one of the characters utters the phrase: "Do not kill my demons, because the angels will die too." What about your demons today?

Łukasz Skorupski: Sometimes they are… But I hide it well. In Italy they don't even know I'm like that.

Are you or have you been?

Lukasz Skorupski: I was. I don't want to go back to that life at all.

Do you control your demons?

Lukasz Skorupski: I control. I am 31 years old, I have a child, a wife. I play football professionally, for ten years in Serie A. I earn good money, damn. You know how it is. I can't be stupid anymore.

Do you think you're securing the future right now? Not only yours.

Łukasz Skorupski: I'll make a living from it, so I have to make the most of it. I have to. I can't play the clown, risk to go out or something. I'll tell you, I don't even want to anymore. See how cold it is in Bologna today.

Minus one.

Łukasz Skorupski: In such weather, when I was 20, I would put on a T-shirt, a leather jacket over it and go to the city.

Now you're constantly complaining that you're cold.

Łukasz Skorupski: You don't even want to leave the house. Do you understand how it all changes?

You said yourself you'd rather invite your friends over to your house than spend the night at a party.

Łukasz Skorupski: The family is there, the kid is here. Everything worked out well. And I really prefer the way we sat down yesterday - we talked, watched the match, drank a glass of wine. Why the fuck would I go somewhere. Everyone knows each other in Bologna, right.

I think even if they didn't know you, you wouldn't go out.

Łukasz Skorupski: Well, I don't want to anymore. I guess it's age, huh?

I already told you. We are getting older.

Łukasz Skorupski: When I think about what I did in Górnik… Parties until eight in the morning, and training at nine. The body has changed too. If I did that now, I'd be walking backwards for three days. No discos at all. I will go out with my wife to a restaurant for dinner, sit, talk and go home. Where should I go? Of course, I can afford more during the holidays, then you can make something.

I like the custom in Italian teams that you and your teammates go out for dinner every week.

Łukasz Skorupski: They have, We have such a custom in Italy.

In Empoli you went out on Wednesdays.

Łukasz Skorupski: And today Stefan Posch was punished for being late for training. We were already training and he came in after ten minutes. The day before we came back late from the match, he couldn't sleep, and in the morning he overslept. The punishment was to buy dinner for everyone. He paid today. It might have cost him a bit.

At least the team is connecting.

Lukasz Skorupski: Yes, yes. There's a punishment or something and a supper.

Did you pay fines in Bologna?

Łukasz Skorupski: It wasn't a punishment, but after signing a new contract with Bologna, I bought dinner for the whole team. I'm not getting fines now. I'm not late, never happened to me. Sorry, I came too late at Nawałka's (former Polish NT coach and Skorupski's coach in Górnik) once.

In Górnik or in the national team?

Łukasz Skorupski: In Górnik. Imagine that we went to a party after practically every game. Once we lost to Polonia Warszawa 0:4. I don't know if you remember this game.

No.

Łukasz Skorupski: We lost and I say: "Fuck it, I'm not going anywhere". I didn't go and… I overslept. Dropping in for briefing, man... 10,000 fine from the coach.

He probably thought about Katowice at night.

Łukasz Skorupski: I didn't even say anything to him, I didn't explain myself. He wouldn't have believed it anyway. And that's the only time I haven't gone anywhere and I've missed my check-in. Jesus. That's how it stuck in my head that I've been vigilant ever since. Coach Nawałka used to look deep into your eyes. He greeted us, passed his hand and approached within five centimeters. Do you know why?

Did he want to emphasize his sincerity?

Łukasz Skorupski: He was getting closer like this, give me your hand, the left one, because my right one hurts. He brought his nose close to your face and sniffed. He knew some people were drinking.

Ha, ha.

Łukasz Skorupski: Well, I promise you.

I was told by the players of Świt Krzeszowice, the first club where Nawałka started as a coach, how he checked them to see if they had drunk anything. During the camps he visited them in their rooms. "What's up gentlemen?" How do you feel? - He was asking. "All right, coach," they replied. - Oh, I found some lint - he picked up a crumb from the carpet and carried it to the bin. He looked for beer caps.

Lukasz Skorupski: You see. With us, he would look at you and say, "Okay? Are you okay? Are you ready?" He knew that when there was a match, there could also be a party. He is sly. He wanted to introduce professionalism to Górnik. Because in order to achieve something with the team he had, he had to do it.

If you hadn't met Nawałka, would we be talking in Italy now?

Lukasz Skorupski: I don't think so. I'm afraid that I would not play in Italy and I would stay in Poland and play in Ekstraklasa. I had talent, but without the discipline and working us to the ground he unleashed in me, I wouldn't have excelled.

The perfect coach at that moment for someone as defiant as you?

Łukasz Skorupski: I was tough, I had it in me, because it's family with us. We don't cry, we don't feel sorry for ourselves. Something really serious had to happen to go to the doctor. If you cut something, it's no big deal. For them, it was such a shame to cry at the doctor's office because something hurt. We grit our teeth and say hello. That's my whole family. What, I also did not go to coach Nawałka with such trifles. It was so with him that if there was a foul in training and someone was lying down, he would approach with a clear message: "You get up or it's time to leave training". Really. He was still asking. "What, an ambulance?! An ambulance?! Are we calling an ambulance or are you getting up?" And suddenly everyone got up. "And yet it doesn't hurt," he triumphed.

Did he end pretending?

Łukasz Skorupski: Everyone in the team finished. You know, when there was a perfidious tackle, then the coach would get angry and admonish: "Too much." But some kind of slide, a sharp entry, without crying. And man, at one point, no one cried anymore. Everyone got up immediately and developed a character on it. We were fucking going and we rode this rhythm. We walked like soldiers. I really appreciate it. Thiago Motta in Bologna also has such a character. It's like, "Something hurts? Okay, then get off the field." He doesn't care if it's me or someone else. For him, the most important thing is who works in training.

Once I talked to the referees, they said that Górnik was the easiest to ref. Because the players did not pretend, they did not argue with the referees. There was a ban from the coach.

Łukasz Skorupski: The coach threatened that if we get a yellow card for talking, we will be punished immediately. I'll tell you he was right about that. He showed how important details and discipline are. He gave me my debut in Ekstraklasa in Wrocław with Śląsk together with Milik and Olkowski. I owe him a lot, he developed my character, he taught me discipline.

And hard work in training.

Łukasz Skorupski: He was famous for working hard.

Only four workouts a day.

Łukasz Skorupski: Just so you know that we really at the camps practiced three or four times a day. I remember the camp in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, where we started at six in the morning - oxygen, i.e. running. Honestly? I'll tell you, we complained, complained, and now I appreciate it. I'm in Italy and I'm not at all scared of their work here.

Thanks to working with Nawałka, was it easier for you to find yourself in Serie A?

Łukasz Skorupski: The approach I got to know thanks to him in Górnik, I met after coming to Italy. In my opinion, it has been abroad for a long time, but not yet in Poland at that time.

You said that you and Nawałka keep in touch and write text messages.

Łukasz Skorupski: Sometimes the coach will talk after the match. At the World Cup, he wrote to me in his style: "Congratulations, we keep fighting." When I defended against the Netherlands or Chile, he texted me that it was a good match.

You sent back longer responses to show him you'd changed. No "Thank you", but a few lines.

Łukasz Skorupski: I have to let him know that this is another Łukasz Skorupski. Because you know, I changed with him, I was a bit of a boor. I grew up with Górnik fans, we were all the same in Zaborze.

Were you rude?

Łukasz Skorupski: You know that, well... When I met Nawałka in Górnik, man, he also started teaching me such kindnesses. "Thank you, please, why don't you talk like that?" he pointed out. And so to all players, not just me. Thank the lady at the laundry. Thank the lady in the kitchen.

"Good morning" must be said.

Łukasz Skorupski: I didn't always say before. I will remember coach Nawałka well. In national team we talk about him a lot.
And what are you talking about?

Łukasz Skorupski: That "Nawala" was fucking awesome. Everyone knows that we worked hard and everything was arranged like in the army. But man... There was no money in Górnik, but he was able to arrange everything in such a way, to wind up the president of Zabrze that she paid us salaries every month. Because earlier in Górnik they paid once every six months. The coach came and we came to him to help with these payouts. He met with the president and they started paying monthly. We didn't have rarities, but some fruits appeared after training.

The fields had to be even.

Łukasz Skorupski: Bartek Spałek, our masseur, I remember that he took creatine, some other supplements, conditioners. Everything was coming in.

Was it Nawałka who introduced it?

Lukasz Skorupski: Yes! Earlier, come on, and he introduced such a greater professionalism - breakfasts in the club, dinners in the club. He was trying to put it all together. Although I remember, honestly, that sometimes we complained about it.

You called him Fidel.

Łukasz Skorupski: It was like that, we were exercising at the gym. He was looking one way and you did eight reps instead of ten. Right away he would be angry with you: "How much have you done?! Eight! Two more!". I don't know how he saw it, but he didn't miss a thing man, he saw it all. At one point, the team thought, "Well, there's no resisting and there's a ride. We're going this way." We didn't have any outstanding players, and we were standing well in the table, even in sixth place.

And many got promoted: you, Paweł Olkowski, Arek Milik.

Łukasz Skorupski: Each of us has gone abroad. It was so that when Nawałka started, I did not believe in such things at all. He brought Remek Rzepka to the club, I think he studied in America. And he introduced what the entire Ekstraklasa is doing now. And yet we are talking about what happened ten years ago in Poland. They were the first to introduce rollovers.

How did you react?

Łukasz Skorupski: I did it, but with the thought - what the fuck is this? Shall I roll some muscles? Some rubber, extra work? Give me the ball and the games. And they began to notice that motor skills are improving, that injuries are prevented. In Górnik, everyone had to be at the gym half an hour before training.

And you are doing it in Bologna now.

Łukasz Skorupski: It's normal abroad. In Poland, it came with coach Nawałka. You know how it was in Ekstraklasa. Earlier, probably with coach Wieczorek... Although I don't remember. Okay, never mind. I was already playing in the first team, and I would arrive at the club at 10:50. Five minutes to get changed and at 11 I left for training. End of training, bath and departure.

This would not work for Nawałka.

Łukasz Skorupski: You had to be in his locker room 45 minutes before training. Let me tell you, I really appreciate it now. The best coach I had in Poland. I always talked when I was playing for Górnik that coach Nawałka should join the national team. He's gonna make all these rules, damn it. And you see - he did some result.

Quarterfinals of the European Championship.

Łukasz Skorupski: Damn, well... But let me tell you that at the national team it was a bit different. Lighter.

At the first team training camp in Grodzisk Wielkopolski there was also a similar drill, only the players told him to let it go.

Łukasz Skorupski: I wasn't there yet. He was so much more laid back after that. And you can't go like that during training sessions with the national team, because you play two matches a week. You come prepared from the club, you work on tactics without great strength and so on, because the match is coming soon. This is what it looks like in the national team. More could be done when it was EURO, where we had two weeks of preparation. Now at the World Cup, we didn't live in training either. All the time tactics and matches. But, you know, you've been in form because you're coming mid-season.

I always remember Coach Nawałka well. I don't know how he did it, because there was poverty in Górnik, but at some point we had everything I said - nutrients, some fruit after training. We were paid our salaries every month. We went to Zakopane for the camp. Oh Jesus. We stayed in one of the best hotels. And what the fuck, how much we ran. But let me tell you - I have respect for the fact that he developed such a character for me.

A lot of coaches could kick you out of the club for "Lorneta and Medusa", where you fought with other customers and trashed the place.

Łukasz Skorupski: Well fuck, that's why I'm telling you. He gave me a second chance, he did a great job. After it happened, I had a meeting with him at the club. I entered the coach room without knocking. I sat down on the sofa right away, I remember that. The coach looked at me strangely: "What are you doing?! Get up, leave and come back like a normal person." So I went out, this time I knocked. I sat down and told him everything how it was.

How did he react?

Łukasz Skorupski: Nice, because he said that he also did stupid things in his youth. It happens to young people, you know you have to go crazy. The most important thing for him was not to do it again. And I didn't repeat it. I didn't play in the first match after this action, but in the next round I was again in the lineup. I had a good season, my best in Ekstraklasa. Because you know, damn, I wanted to repay him a little.

Well, but he gave up on your brother.

Łukasz Skorupski: Not him, but club's board.

Michał was after a serious injury and trained as a guest with the first team of Górnik. He had a chance to stay.

Lukasz Skorupski: Exactly. He was injured, he did not have a contract with Górnik, but he could train with us. We just did this action in "Lorneta and Meduza" and they thanked him right away.

As the first.

Łukasz Skorupski: Earlier there was an idea to offer him a contract. I got a penalty, Olo Kwiek got a penalty, Adam Danch got a penalty.

How did the 20-year-old, promising player in Ekstraklasa felt arrested?

Łukasz Skorupski: Four of us were in arrest - me, Adam Danch, Olek Kwiek and my brother. Each in a different cell. And man, what's going on down there? You sit and sleep with a break for food.

Although good?

Łukasz Skorupski: A piece of bread and tea in a metal mug. Jesus. The worst days of my life. I promise you. The worst three days of my life! I had everything ruffled, you're lying in the same clothes. Nor bathe, only pee somewhere next to people.

Who were you sitting with?

Łukasz Skorupski: With a guy who sold drugs to someone else who died. You understand?

With a dealer.

Lukasz Skorupski: Yes. Life is like that. I don't know how in Italy they will read it and ask: what the...? Even though it was ten years ago, write that it was ten years ago.

You had a black eye then.

Łukasz Skorupski: We sat in the same clothes and waited for them to take us out. We left after three days. We were pulled out by the late Krzysiu Maj with Bartek Laburda. Before that, there was also a sobering-up room. You go, you strip down to your panties and you sleep like that. Just so you know, because there are some psychos... They take their belts off, everything. You are lying on a mattress on the ground, and the worst thing is that there are twenty people in the room and there is no toilet.

How did Matilde react to all this when you told her what you were like?

Łukasz Skorupski: Well, she was in shock. But she also knows that I have changed. Also thanks to her. She appreciates that I was able to leave Zaborze and take care of myself, and you know what a difference it makes.

Big?

Łukasz Skorupski: Man, no... Compared to my life in Poland, it's a gulf. She appreciates that I was able to adapt to another. This in Italy. You know how they live here, you've seen it - coffee, cappuccino. Although there is also crime in Italy.

You, for example, were robbed in Bologna.

Łukasz Skorupski: Sometimes when I think about it, it still makes me furious. We lived on the ground floor in an apartment with a garden. I was playing at home against Napoli, Matilde left the house half an hour after kick-off. They had to watch her. After the match with my young and "Zielu" we still kicked the ball in the gym at the stadium. Leo knows his uncle, likes him. Everything's fine, we go home, and there's like a bomb went off. Everything is broken, lying on the ground. I felt fucking bad.

Matylda was in Zaborze?

Lukasz Skorupski: She was.

Did she like it?

Łukasz Skorupski: These were our beginnings, and you know how it is in a relationship - deeply in love, you won't say anything bad. Today, as she recalls that visit, she admits that she was shocked.

What shocked her the most?

Łukasz Skorupski: That Silesia is still so gray. And she's from Sardinia. For her, the strangest thing was that every block in Zaborze is the same. Only the number changes. She shook her head: "All the blocks are the same. Only the hospitals are different, and there is no difference." And what, well, I took her to Auschwitz, I remember. She insisted on going there. For Italians, this is a moving story, they take the history of the concentration camps seriously. She wanted to see, so we went. Today, when Matilde is in Poland, we mainly visit my family in the countryside. We will also go there this June.

Where?

Łukasz Skorupski: To my mother. It's a village, 50 kilometers from Brodnica. It takes an hour and a half to get to Toruń. Lakes, we have a boat, fish, bonfires in the evenings. It's fucking great there. Matilde likes it too, she loves nature. Boy, we're walking somewhere in the fields, and she raves about the cows. She's in love with animals, right. Cows, chickens, it doesn't matter.

The whole family from mother and father - cousins, aunts - lives there. They all live 15 kilometers next to each other. One family from mom, the other from dad. Here is one village, here is another, and there was a disco between them. My parents met there. Later, my father went to Silesia to work in a mine, and my mother with him.

Your dad wasn't interested in football.

Łukasz Skorupski: He was from the countryside, he had nothing to do with football. He didn't play it at all. The old man was a boxer. You know, he trained himself and boxed himself.

Did he go to your games?

Lukasz Skorupski: No. Rarely. I don't blame him. I never wanted to be daddy's boy. When I was young, he used to come to a game.

And when have you already played in Ekstraklasa?

Łukasz Skorupski: I don't think he came to Ekstraklasa even once. My old man wasn't a Górnik. He watched on TV.

When I started training in Zaborze when I was young, I jumped over the fence and was already on the pitch. Nobody had to see me off. When I was ten years old, times were different, I would get on a tram and drive an hour to training. Two transfers from Zaborze and you had to walk there too.

You were ten years old and you were already driving alone?

Łukasz Skorupski: We traveled from Zaborze in two or three. We had a training group where parents of other coaches licked ass, and I was always alone. I don't blame the old man for not coming. I know he worked hard and had to rest after the mine. Those who had more money, some business of their own, could come to their son whenever they wanted. They were sucking up to the coaches, giving gifts so that only the kid would play. I was the only one who didn't care about it. I was fucking great keeper in the youngsters and the coach loved me. His name is Jerzy Urban. Write it, write it, he will be happy. Sometimes we text each other. He treated me fairly even though I came without my parents and I didn't suck up to anyone. I was good and that was it, and he let me play. Other parents were furious: "Why doesn't my son play, I bought shirts for the team." The coach liked me so much that he would take me home after training and drink tea with the old ones.

Two years older brother, Michał, also played football.

Łukasz Skorupski: I think that as a goalkeeper I feel so good and agile because I had a different childhood. I would go outside with the boys and jump from tree to tree, doing some flips in the bushes. And train to add to that. Mom would let us out at nine o'clock in the morning, we would come back at 11 pm, when she was screaming from the window: "Come home!". That's how I grew up, huh.

I would never trade my childhood for anything. I went crazy. Jesus, you went to the lake, no matter if the water was warm or cold. When I was young, I spent my summers in the countryside. We drove tractors, I went to work to pick strawberries or potatoes.

Did they pay well?

Łukasz Skorupski: Tenner in an hour. We earned about 50pln a day. In the evening we met at the fire station and played a match, and at the end a shop and ice cream. The next day the same. Oh, I slept in the barn too.

Idyllic, carefree.

Łukasz Skorupski: Like in the countryside. It was a little different in the city. Although I played football everywhere - in the countryside and in the city.

2023.03.21 11:49 Skullmax12 Reposting with a few fixes, now please do help me i dont understand what it means. I dreamt of a green 4 yro who disguised as a pale white 4yro before entering my house

Anyways i dreamt there was this weird green 4 yro who said he would follow me and tickle me until i was 90
Ps: i dreamt an scp dream before this and died to scp-173,i saw the green guy there... I started the nightmare being in my dining room bed, which is mine, sitting on it eating chips, with my nephews which are very close to me,then they pointed A flashlight at the green guy,he just wasnt green yet,and he was like huge eyes wide smile and almost pale face with a few purple veins on the forehead,he was on my window, and he was holding on to the bars of my window and seemed to get his head through, the window was open, they said "and who are you?",they then turned it on and he growled then ran to the side of my house,my big sister then came to pick up my nephews, they got out and i went to my brothers room and locked myself in it,though the door had A code instead of key in the dream. I was staying up late until what seemed like 6 am and the sky was blue, enough light to say it was morning,i came to the dining room at the same time as my mom,she then chatted with me a little and i chatted back,i forgot about the kid,i was trying to grab my other old phone secretly for some reason, she turned of the lights and the only light on,my brothers room light, shined on the hallway, keep in mind this is a first floor home, the kid entered and i was screaming at my mom to do something and the kid went to my moms room and stood there,my mom was eating watching tv on her bed with my baby sister, she got scared and as soon as i tried to enter i got tickled into the room by the green guy,he laid down in the middle of the bed and my baby sister went to her old baby bed,i was next to the green guy and we didnt do anything,my mother called my brother to come home and my brother asked why there was a laugh,my mom talked about the green guy like it wasnt anything and my brother came home and was confused,he didnt help. The dream continued on my moms room then i asked how long he would be here for,he said until i was old enough,i asked: 16? Replied no. 17? 18? Again,no. I asked him and he said he would be there in all of my homes until i was 90 and he would always tickle me,with that wide grin in his mouth and those evil eyes. I blacked out then i woke up to me and my family going shopping,as we walked i constantly looked back to check if the green guy wasnt there, and he wasnt following, but a purple blob was, which apparently i saw when i was a kid too? Then we saw a baby carrier that looked like that ourple blob and a plushie,my mom bought both and i was warning her but didnt listen, the walk continued. Until we reached this bar or whatever it was,we all apparently had items for this specific room and had an inventory,i took out a screwdriver and open an electrical box, looked at what we needed to cut the wires,i also had something else and opened another electrical box, which was a door to a tunnel with purple lighting, tho i needed an axe to cut the back of the box down to use it as a door. I asked if anyone had pincers to cut the other electrical box wires, which apparently would make the back of the electrical box go down and become a door,we all didnt have it and i asked everyone to show their inventory,me and my nephews had one but didnt have it after i opened the electrical box,we went back and got a few then i woke up irl, with my heart beating as fast as a train, and my phone which i connected to its charger disconnected,im running out of battery while typing this and every little noise scares me,is he under my bed? Was that sound the front gate opening and hes now running at the window? Is he already at the window? If i come out of bed, will he come out of under my bed and grab me? He didnt seem affected by daylight.

2023.03.21 11:49 Think_Mud_6808 [Online][Other][Cypher][CST][[email protected]]: Our base is established, but we need warm bodies. Seeking survivors to join the resistance!

This campaign is just getting started. After one session, we've gained a small NPC following and established a base. Currently seeking 2-3 more regular, consistent players. I will allow more to join the discord server for occasional joins and for text-chat "side missions".
SYSTEM: Cypher System by Monte Cook is a setting-agnostic version of Numenera. It has lightweight mechanics, a narrative focus, and is homebrew friendly. There are more details below, including how magic character options relate to the setting.
GENRE: Post-apocalyptic/Dystopian with fantasy elements. Think Equilibrium, but add psychic phenomena and a dash of Mad Max.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: All experience levels accepted. I enjoy teaching new players this hobby, and Cypher is easy to learn. I'll happily assist you as much or as little as you prefer in creating your character.
TIME: Weekly/bi-weekly on Saturday @ 5:00PM CST
GAMEPLAY: Discord Voice for main story sessions 1-3 times per month. Discord Text for "side missions". You may join with the intent to participate in only/mostly one form of session.
A dedicated RP text channel affects the campaign in significant ways. Each session, players can vote on actions the clan will take as a group, and the result of the rolls directly affect the upcoming session.
As a DM, I leans toward sandbox gameplay, but provide strong initial direction with each session. By this, I mean that I expect you to go along with the general intent of a session as described in the session announcement, but I seldom try to predict where that initial push will lead. I also take requests for sessions for nearly any activity in the game world.
SETTING DETAILS: Paxian Rebels is loosely based on the 2002 film Equilibrium.
Paxia is a totalitarian state, formed in the aftermath of the third world war. Since its inception, the state has forced its population into subservience through use of force and strict control of food and water. As the state rebuilt what was destroyed by war, there began to appear human beings who demonstrated strange, unexplained abilities. The state quickly launched a propaganda campaign to demonize these so-called psions, and arrested anyone showing signs. The state experimented on those they arrested, and early research showed a clear link between emotion and the strength of psionic abilities.
In order to maintain control, Paxia's leaders ordered the development and production of a drug named Deditium which was forced upon the population. Citizens of Paxia take a daily regimen of this drug, which dulls their senses and renders them subservient. Any person who does not is arrested and executed as a "devil-worshiper", even if they don't display any psionic ability. Possessing artwork, literature, or anything which suggests emotion is enough to be prosecuted.
Naturally, there are dissenters. Inside city walls, many risk their lives for the freedom to feel. Others choose a difficult life over an oppressed one and see refuge in the wastelands—a dangerous area still scarred by war: full of unexploded mines, radioactive fields, and raiders. But rebels inside and out of Paxia's cities must be wary of clerics: elite assassins trained from a young age to seek out and kill anyone who does not submit to the state.
ABOUT CYPHER SYSTEM: Cypher System is the "generic" form of Numenera, having the same basic rules, but adapted for use in any setting.
The system is lightweight, allowing us to focus on the story and theater of mind. However, this also means that some players may be disappointed; if your favorite part of playing D&D is finding crazy combinations of spells and abilities, Cypher System will ask you to turn that creativity towards exploiting the contents of the game world, rather than the rules. It does so through its titular mechanic: cyphers.
Cyphers are powerful on-time use abilities which players gain frequently (you're pretty much guaranteed to get a cypher in each session). In this campaign, they represent latent psychic abilities brought out by strong emotions. Each cypher has a specific effect, e.g.: Compel NPCs to run away, add a massive die roll bonus, walk through walls, or temporarily disable gravity in the vicinity. They encourage players to find unique solutions, and offer something new to play with every session.
Cypher System is flexible in how it allows you to build your reusable character abilities. It provides a mechanical backing for nearly any type of character, and guidelines for homebrewing.
Characters have 3 main aspects:
There's no hierarchy to it; any descriptor can be paired with any type and any focus.
In this campaign, some of the more fantastical focii are restricted, unless you specifically request them. While I'm open to choosing and using magical abilities, I want to specifically approve the more exotic options, and discuss with you as a player how "magic" exists in the setting. The Adept type grants magical abilities, and represents the "psions" described in the setting. There is no problem with using this type in this campaign. But if you want to use a magical focus, you and I will discuss it first. To be clear: you won't be restricted mechanically in how you use maigcal abilities. I just want magic-user players to understand some of the relevant lore.
You may message me with any questions, or to request to join.
