Kjv psalm 91

Perspective

2023.03.23 18:49 BodyOfNone Perspective

A lot of people think God lower than they ot to. King David has the right perspective here in Psalm 8.
"O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, And hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, And whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth!" Psalm 8:1‭-‬9 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.8.1-9.KJV
It's a dangerous thing to put God on the same level of man. To make him and his ways something to be judged like the base things of this world we've been so graciously given authority over.

Verses for today:
O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, And laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; Even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.
Psalm 139:1‭-‬14 KJV
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses. As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us, not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory. Forever and ever. In Jesus Christ's Holy name I pray.
Amen.
Father, help me put on the Full Armor of God & protect me & my family from the wiles of the evil one.
Halleluyah!

2023.03.19 05:17 Even_Category6345 Lukwarm In The Modern Church

Just curious, is anyone else tired of how so many Christians don't stand for the truth? I am, as I've talked too suppose Christians at work, and even family members about all the great findings on truth and its like it goes in 1 ear and out the other. I know it might sound bad to say, but sometimes I question if they really believe or just go to church to "feel good". Most don't even know about the preveted modern day Bibles. You show them evidence that the Vatican and Jesuits are destroying the inspired book, and that KJV is 100% with no errors or flaws and they don't even care. They just say that they like NIV as "its easier to understand". But how can a believer not be mad that they are corrupting it by removing 60k words, and have changed words from "confess your faults to one another " to "tell your sins to each other" James 5:16. This is absolute heresey and a catholic false doctrine. Anyone that firmly believes in God and his Word the Bible, and is truly born again, they should believe 100% in scripture. They should believe that God will preserve his Word as scripture stats many times:
Psalms 12:6-7 says, "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
Psalms 119:89 says, "LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. " Isaiah 40:8 tells us, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
Matthew 5:18 says, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
Matthew 24:35, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
1 Peter 1:23 says, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."
His Word has always been around and it would be foolish and ridiculous to believe that God had to of kept his Word hidden from destruction. His Word has been in the hands of men since Moses first wrote the first 5 gospels, and all other writing that those who felt inspired such as John, Paul, etc. Its never been hidden. Modern translations of Bibles are hands down corrupted and not 100% the correct Word of God. Remember, God promised to preserve his Word. For those who have done the research and studies as I have (praise God for giving me desire) the KJV is the 100% perfect without an error from the original Greek that scriptures were written in to translated in English. The reason is Greek is a dead language, while English currently in year 2022 has 1.5 billion speak. Anyone that have not done research, don't believe what I say, do research - I recommend a 3 part documentary called: A lamp in the dark, untold history of the Bible By Chris Pinto. This can be found easily on google/YouTube for free. This documentary proves the Bible being corrupted by Vatican, and how they murdered and killed those who held onto the Bible and believed in it since the beginning, but it really started to become bad around Constantine the great around 332AD. If you can't come to the grips that God has made sure that his Word stayed error free, then what can you know and believe is 100% truth? To believe that Satan corrupted the Bible where NO MAN has the 100% perfect scriptures of the Bible in present day is denying and rejecting scriptures I posted above. Do you believe in the gospels or no? Their is no in between. Which would mean that you have to come to believe that their is a perfect 100% no error Bible out their. Gods word will stand forever and is still in hands of men - research and history proves KJV. I find it irritating that this is never taught in churches nor does those who claim to believe in Christ seem to care.
The church to me it seems has been breast feeding on milk for too long - John 3:16 type sermons without getting the meat of the gospels. This effect has caused many to have no discernment. Many don't have that fire for God and have become lukewarm. And many are deceived because of it. The effects of it is they would rather listen to watered down sermon messages that is milk compared to meat, and then afterwards watch their scripted TV show, worldly Hollywood movie or sports. It's sad to hear professed Christians speak so much about their favorite sports player but speak very little about God. I'm tired of Christians playing church instead of living out their faith for Christ. I believe God led me to this truth with so much more last year. I believe God wants to reveal all the truth to them, as God is truth. Satan is a liar which is why the world is full of lies and deception. Many mock and scoff at the truth when God uses someone to reveal them the truth or if they get led to it. It's really time to wake up and believe that what the scriptures says that his Word will stand forever as he stats which is KJV, and that its time to start eating meat and not milk for those who have been in the faith for a long period of time. Quit believing what you're told and research. God gave you a brain for a reason which is to "think". The evidence of what I am saying is truth, as many other researchers will say. Mock and scoff at me but it's time to wake up and do something for God. Seek him and ask him for wisdom and lead you to the truth. He will, as he has done for me. I was never really school smart, but God's wisdom is not of this world as scripture says.
"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain." - 1 Corinthians 18:20
This wisdom is not of my own but from Christ. Without him I'm nothing. I just eventually got fed up with living as the world does. Which last year is when i was brought back to the truth. Nothing in this world truly satisfies a person. I was brought back as a prodigal son and he is the only one that truly brings fulfillment and gives one a purpose in life. Everything the world offers such as sports - want favorite ream to win it all, and even if they do they want it again. The patriots for example has won 6, and still fans drowl for more. It never satisfies but Christ does, I promise you that! You can either believe in lies or the truth! I hope this message will help someone out their, and I leave you with a final quote.
A.W. Tozer says it like this…“In the church many are lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. If you do not like what I am saying, I want to ask you something. Think about the company you run with. What do they talk about most" God and the love of God, or other things" You decide that. Many Christians today will not endure sound doctrine. Paul described these people as having "itching ears" 2 Timothy 4:3. They did not like sound doctrine, but they were Christians. They called themselves Christians, but their ears were itchy. A commentator I read some years back explained this. In Paul's day the pigs had a disease called "itching ears." The symptom was that their ears got inflamed and itched terribly. The only way they could get relief from these inflamed ears was to go to a pile of rocks and rub their ears earnestly and vigorously. The stones scratched their ears for the time being. Paul saw that, smiled a sad smile and said, "I am running into Christians here and there who are just like that. They love pleasure more than God and will not endure sound doctrine. They have itching ears so they will be eager for something else beside the sound docrine and holy ways. They will pile up teachers everywhere and rub their ears for dear life." That is a most dramatic and colorful illustration. A lot of so-called Christians have to have piles of rocks to rub their ears. They will not endure sound doctrine. I think that is a description of the churches, Protestant and evangelical. In the light of New Testament predictions, teachings and standards, is what I just said about the prevailing religious mood untrue" Is what I have said about the prevailing religious mood uncharitable" Is it extreme" I do not think it is, but I only ask you to do one thing: Look around you and look in your own heart. See which of these pictures describes the churches you know.” – A.W. Tozer – Itching Ears Devotional

Morning Prayer March 18th

03/18/2023

Everyday Verse: Daily

Psalm 145:18

ESV

  • The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

KJV

  • The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

NLT

  • The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.

Quote of Prayer

"Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?" — Corrie Ten Boom
Let's Pray:
Shed upon us this morning the light of Your love, and give us strength and grace. As we leave the night behind us, so may we leave the sins and shadows of our lives behind us, and go forth in newness of spirit. We desire that all our days shall be steps toward holier things. We would not live any two of them on the same level. We would grow in grace. As each day passed through brings us nearer to eternity — we would have each one bring us nearer to the full beauty of the likeness of Jesus. We would have each day lift our feet one step higher in the ladder of life which reaches at last to Your feet in the heavenly glory!
So our prayer is that this day may be for us a day of growth in all godliness — in whatever things are true, whatever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely. While we do our common tasks, may we be growing stronger in all the qualities of true life. May our association as a family enrich our lives in all the graces of true character, and make us more gentle, more thoughtful, more patient, more kindly, more unselfish. May even our temptations and our conflicts make us stronger, and bring out in us qualities of beauty which have not been developed in times of ease. Thus may the day be one of growth and progress for each of us.
We need Your help at every step. Unless You will be with us, nothing good can come out of our experiences. Forgive us our sins and our many failures and mistakes. Cleanse us from secret, hidden faults. Keep us from presumptuous sins. Let no iniquity obtain dominion over us. Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts, be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, our strength and our Redeemer. In Jesus mighty name, amen.

2023.03.19 04:31 Xatz41 Abortion: An Orthodox Statement By V. Rev. Timothy Baclig

Abortion means the intentional removal of an embryo or fetus from the womb of a pregnant woman as a result of chemical agents or surgical procedure. The Orthodox Church has always opposed the practice of abortion and condemnations have been recorded in the writings of Church Fathers from apostolic times. In the second Century, Tertullian (2c.) stated that “prevention of birth is precipitation of murder; it does not matter whether one takes away a life when formed, or drive it away while forming. He also is a man who is about to be one. Even every fruit already exists in its seed” (Apology 9). St. Basil the Great (4c.) who also wrote on the subject, addresses abortion as premeditated murder. He writes in canons 2 and 8: “She who purposely destroys the fetus shall suffer the punishment of murder.” He goes on to elaborate that there is no distinction between a fetus that is formed or unformed. The earliest Synodal decision on abortion was the 63rd canon of the Synod of Elvira in . The Synod restricts the Holy Eucharist from women guilty of abortion until on their deathbed. The 21st canon of the regional Synod of Ankara (314 AD) decreed that offenders be given a penance of abstinence from Holy Communion for a long period of time and be permitted to attend the Divine Liturgy in contrition and only from the exterior of the church. Abortion is clearly condemned as murder, and consenting pregnant mothers and abortionists as murderers in Canon 91 of the Quinisext Ecumenical Council. In practice, it must be noted that the Orthodox Church has been compassionate to mothers whose lives were jeopardized without an abortion. St. Gregory of Nyssa (4c.) formulated a theory based on the principle that an organism is given life and grows from the moment of its existence. The mind of the Church on the subject of abortion, it must be noted, is rooted in an understanding which is implicit in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, and celebrated within the full context of the liturgical life of the Church. The Feasts which bring focus to the subject include: the Conception of St. John the Baptist (Sept. 24), of the Holy Virgin Mother of God (Dec. 8), and of our Lord Himself (Mar. 25). Among the references of scripture the Psalmist records: “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).
In conclusion, it can be said that: human beings are first conceived, receive life at inception, develop and grow as persons created in the image and likeness of God.

2023.03.18 05:05 Potential-Courage482 An article on the Sacred Name I wrote.

This is an article I wrote. I would appreciate input on if it makes sense, makes the point I want it to, etc. Heads up: it does run a bit long.

How Many Verses

All quotes from the 1901 ASV Bethel Edition
How many Bible verses would it take for you to make a major change in your life? If one verse told you to do something, or not to do something, would you? What about two or three verses? The Bible does say that all things should be established at the mouth of two or three witnesses.
Deuteronomy 19:15
“One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sins: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established.”
Matthew 18:16
“But if he does not hear you, take with you one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.”
As we can see, the Bible even has a second witness to the verse that tells you to have a second witness. Many people would say that if the Bible told them to do something twice, they would do it. But laid out in this writing are over one hundred verses that testify to the importance of something that most people do not follow. Those who consider themselves a follower of the Bible should please read the verses provided here and think carefully about whether or not they are currently following the Bible in their worship.
The other Ten Commandments
We’ll start off by taking a look at ten verses that give direct commands regarding the Father’s Name.
1) Exodus 20:7
You shall not make wrong use of the Name of Yahweh your Elohim; for Yahweh will not leave unpunished the man who misuses His Name.
2) Leviticus 18:21
And you shall not give any of your seed to make them pass through the fire to Molech; neither shall you profane the name of your Elohim: I am Yahweh.
3) Leviticus 19:12
And you shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your Elohim: I am Yahweh.
4) Leviticus 22:32
And you shall not profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am Yahweh who hallows you,
5) Leviticus 24:16
And he that blasphemes the name of Yahweh, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemes the name of Yahweh, shall be put to death
6) Deuteronomy 5:11
You shall not make wrong use of the Name of Yahweh your Elohim: for Yahweh will not leave unpunished the man that misuses His Name.
7) Deuteronomy 6:13
You shall fear Yahweh you Elohim; and him you shall serve, and shall swear by his name.
8) Deuteronomy 10:20
You shall fear Yahweh your Elohim; him you shall serve; and to him you shall hold fast, and by his name shall you swear.
9) Deuteronomy 12:5
But unto the place which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation shall you seek, and to that place you shall come;
10) Deuteronomy 18:20
But the prophet, that shall speak a word arrogantly in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other elohim, that same prophet shall die.
Notice that these ten verses all contain the word “shall” (sometimes in the form “shall not” or “neither shall”). These are not suggestions. These are not things you may or may not do. These are clear and direct commands, from the maker of the heavens and the earth.
The importance of the Father’s Sacred Name
This next set of verses all speak, in one way or another, about how important the Father’s Name, Yahweh, is.
11) Genesis 32:29
And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray you, your name. And he said, Why is it that you asked after my name? And he blessed him there.
12) Numbers 6:27
So shall they put my name on the children of Israel; and I will bless them.
13) Deuteronomy 10:8
At that time Yahweh set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.
14) Deuteronomy 21:5
And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for Yahweh your Elohim has chosen them to minister to him, and to bless in the name of Yahweh; and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be.
15) Nehemiah 9:5
Then the Levites, Yahshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless Yahweh your Elohim from everlasting to everlasting; and blessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
16) Psalm 96:2
Sing to Yahweh, bless his name; Show forth his salvation from day to day.
17) Psalm 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
18) Psalm 145:21
My mouth shall speak the praise of Yahweh; And let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
19) Matthew 21:9
And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yahweh; Hosanna in the highest.
20) Matthew 23:39
For I say to you, You shall not see me from this time, till you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yahweh.
21) Mark 11:9
And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, Hosanna; Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yahweh:
22) Luke 13:35
Behold, your house is left to you desolate: and I say to you, You shall not see me, until you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yahweh.
23) John 12:13
took the branches of the palm trees, and went for to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yahweh, even the King of Israel.
Here we see multiple kinds of blessing associated with His Name: Blessing because of His Name, blessing in the Name, His Name is blessed, and blessed is He who comes in His Name (a reference to the Messiah Yahshua, who came in Yahweh’s Name).
24) 1st Kings 9:7
then I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, I will cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
25) Matthew 6:9
After this manner therefore pray: Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be your name.
26) Luke 11:2
And he said to them, When you pray, say, Our Father, who is in heaven. Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.
These three verses, two of which are from the famous “Our Father” prayer, show that the name is hallowed, or holy.
27) Exodus 9:16
but in very deed for this cause have I made you to stand, to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
28) Psalm 22:22
I will declare your name to my brethren: In the middle of the assembly I will praise you.
29) Hebrews 2:12
saying, I will declare your name to my brethren, In the midst of the congregation will I sing your praise.
These three verses speak to declaring the Name; Exodus 9:16 is saying that part of the reason Yahweh hit Egypt with the ten plagues was so that His Name would be declared throughout all of the earth.
30) 1st Chronicles 16:8
O give thanks to Yahweh, call upon his name; Make known his doings among the people.
31) Psalm 80:18
So shall we not go back from you: Quicken us, and we will call upon your name.
32) Psalm 105:1
Oh give thanks to Yahweh, call upon his name; Make known among the peoples his doings.
33) Isaiah 12:4
And in that day shall you say, Give thanks to Yahweh, call upon his name, declare his doings among the peoples, make mention that his name is exalted.
34) Joel 2:32
And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of Yahweh shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as Yahweh has said, and among the remnant those whom Yahweh does call.
35) Acts 2:21
And it shall be, that whoever shall call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved.
36) Romans 10:13
for, whoever shall call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved.
These seven verses tell us to call upon His Name. Isaiah 12:4 also informs us that His Name is exalted. Of grave importance is that message in Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21, and Romans 10:13; here are one Old Testament and two New Testament verses which tell us that if we call on the name of Yahweh we will be saved/delivered, the implication being that if we do not call on the name of Yahweh, we will not be saved/delivered! All those who have a desire to be saved from the righteous penalty of their sins may want to read those three verses again, and really let them sink in!
37) Romans 9:17
For the scripture says to Pharoah, For this very purpose did I raise you up, that I might show you in your power, and that my name might be published abroad in all the earth.
38) 2nd Timothy 2:19
However, the firm foundation of Yahweh stands, having this seal, Yahweh knows them that are his: and, Let everyone that names the name of Yahweh depart from unrighteousness.
These two verses speak of publishing and naming Yahweh’s Name, further showing its importance.
39) 2nd Samuel 22:50
Therefore I will give thanks to you, O Yahweh, among the nations, And will sing praises to your name.
40) Psalm 66:2
Sing forth the glory of his name: Make his praise glorious.
41) Psalm 68:4
Sing to Elohim, sing praises to his name: Cast up a highway for him that rides through the deserts; His name is Yah; and exult before him.
42) Psalm 92:1
It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, And to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
43) Psalm 113:1
HalleluYah! Praise, O you servants of Yahweh, Praise the name of Yahweh.
These five verses speak of singing and praising the Name of Yahweh.
44) Psalm 149:3
Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises to him with timbrel and harp.
And if you aren’t much of a singer, here is a verse which shows that we can praise the Name through dance too!
45) Exodus 3:15
And Elohim said moreover to Moses, In this manner shall you say to the children of Israel, Yahweh, the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, The Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
46) 2nd Samuel 7:26
And let your name be magnified forever, saying, Yahweh of hosts is Elohim over Israel; and the house of your servant David shall be established before you.
47) 2nd Chronicles 7:16
For now I have chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
48) Psalm 72:17
His name shall endure forever; His name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him; All nations shall call him happy.
49) Psalm 135:13
Your name, O Yahweh, endures forever; Your memorial name, O Yahweh, throughout all generations.
These five verses let us know how long His Name will be Yahweh, and how long it will be important: forever!
50) 1st Kings 8:33
When your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you; if they turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in his house:
51) 1st Kings 8:35
When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflicted them:
Here are two verses which speak of confessing the Name.
52) Deuteronomy 28:58
If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, Yahweh your Elohim;
53) 1st Chronicles 16:29
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name: Bring an offering, and come before him; Worship Yahweh in holy array.
54) Psalm 29:2
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name; Worship Yahweh in holy array.
55) Psalm 86:9
All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you, O Yahweh; And they shall glorify your name.
56) Psalm 86:12
I will praise you, O Yahweh my Elohim, with my whole heart; And I will glorify your name for evermore.
57) John 12:28
Father, glorify your name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
Here we can see six verses speak to the glory of the Name of Yahweh.
58) Malachi 3:16
Then they that feared Yahweh spoke one with another; and Yahweh listened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before him, for them that feared Yahweh, and that thought upon his name.
We are to not only speak and sing and confess the Name, we are also to spend time thinking on it. To be written in the book of remembrance we need to not only fear Yahweh, but also spend time thinking on His Name.
59) 2nd Chronicles 6:33
then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling-place, and according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, and fear you, as does your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.
60) Psalm 8:9
O Yahweh, our Sovereign, How excellent is your name in all the earth!
61) Psalm 79:6
Pour out your wrath upon the nations that do not know you, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon your name.
62) Malachi 1:11
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles: and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the Gentiles, says Yahweh of hosts.
Some people think that the Name is only important for the Jews. 2nd Chronicles 6:32 speaks about foreigners coming from a far country just for His “great name’s sake,” and, as you can see above, the next verse, 6:33, speaks to how Yahweh will hear those who come for His Name’s sake, for the purpose that all people on earth may know His Name. On the flip side of that, Psalm 79:6 says that any kingdom, including Gentile nations, will see His wrath if they do not call upon His Name. Malachi 1:11 even specifically uses the word Gentiles, putting to rest the notion that non-Hebrew people can’t/shouldn’t/don’t need to use His Name.
63) 1st Kings 10:1
And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, she came to test him with hard questions.
King Solomon did not take personal credit for his wisdom. He did not spread his fame as a problem solver. He was known worldwide for his knowledge “concerning the name of Yahweh.”
64) Leviticus 21:6
They shall be holy to their Elohim, and not profane the name of their Elohim; for the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, the bread of their Elohim, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.
65) Leviticus 22:2
Speak to Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they hallow to me, and that they profane not my holy name: I am Yahweh.
Here are two witnesses which warn not to profane the name.
66) 1st Kings 18:24
And you call on the name of your elohim, and I will call on the name of Yahweh: and the Elohim that answers by fire, let him be Elohim. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
The famous battle on Mount Carmel of the 450 priests of Baal versus EliYah the prophet of Yahweh was concerning which name they should call on.
67) 1st Kings 8:19
Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house for my name.
King David desired to build a house for the Name, but was told that, due to all of the blood he had spilled, his son King Solomon would be the one to build the temple.
68) Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will make mention of the name of Yahweh our Elohim.
69) Psalm 33:21
For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.
70) Proverbs 18:10
The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it, and is safe.
There is safety in Yahweh’s Name; we should trust in it.
71) 2nd Kings 2:24
And he looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of Yahweh. And there came forth two she-bears out of the wood, and tore forty-two boys of them.
Here is a verse which shows the power of the Name. Some boys were teasing the prophet Elisha about his bald head. He cursed them in Yahweh’s Name, and they died for such an open disrespect of a prophet of Yahweh.
72) Ezra 5:1
Now the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem; in the name of the Elah of Israel prophesied they unto them.
Speaking of prophets, prophesying was done in Yahweh’s name (Elah is a word that means mighty one in a dialect of Hebrew, the same word, essentially, as El or Elohim, translated as God in most English language Bibles).
73) Psalm 5:11
But let all those that take refuge in you rejoice, Let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them: Let them also that love your name be joyful in you.
Here is a lovely prayer asking that those who love His Name have joyful lives.
74) Psalm 34:3
Oh magnify Yahweh with me, And let us exalt his name together.
Similar to Nehemiah 9:5 and Isaiah 5:12 we are told here to exalt His Name; something we can’t do if we aren’t using it.
75) John 10:25
Yahshua answered them, I told you, and you believe not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, these bear witness of me.
76) John 17:6
I manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world: yours they were, and you gave them to me; and they have kept your word.
77) John 17:11
And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
78) John 17:26
And I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Many people believe that the Name is an Old Testament thing, and has no bearing now. These four verses show that the Messiah, who is supposed to be our example for living, did works in the Name, manifested the Name to his disciples, kept those disciples in the Name, and worked to make it known. Should we be doing any less?
79) Hebrews 13:15
Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to Yahweh continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.
This shows that our sacrifice today, the fruit we bring to Yahweh, is to praise him and make confession to His Name. This is what we, as New Testament followers, need to be keeping.
The Son’s Name
It is not only Yahweh’s Name that is very important, according to Scripture. Yahshua, whose name means “Yahweh is Salvation,” is the Messiah, and between that and having the Father’s Name within His Name, there are a number of verses which speak to the importance of His Name as well.
80) Matthew 12:21
And in his name shall the Gentiles hope.
Again we see that even Gentiles have use for the Sacred Names.
81) Philippians 2:9
Therefore also Yahweh highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
And just like the Father’s Name in Nehemiah 9:5, Isaiah 5:12, and Psalm 34:3 we see that the Son’s Name is also something to be exalted.
82) Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
When we are gathering with others, we should be doing so in His Name.
83) 1st Peter 4:14
If you are reproached for the name of the Messiah, you are blessed; because the glorious Spirit of Yahweh rests upon you.
If you aren’t using the Name, it is not possible to be reproached for it.
84) Acts 2:38
And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahshua the Messiah to the remission of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
85) Acts 8:16
for as yet it had fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Sovereign Yahshua.
86) Acts 10:48
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Yahshua the Messiah. Then they prayed him to stay certain days.
87) Acts 19:5
And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Sovereign Yahshua.
88) Acts 22:16
And now, why do you wait? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.
All five examples of baptism in Acts are done into the singular Name of the Sovereign Yahshua the Messiah.
89) John 14:13
And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
90) John 14:14
If you shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.
91) John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Three verses show that whatever the disciples asked for in Yahshua’s Name, they received. This may also apply to us, if we are closely following Yahweh’s will like they are, and are therefore asking for things that are Yahweh’s will to grant to us.
92) Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Sovereign Yahshua, giving thanks to Yahweh the Father through him.
93) 1st John 5:13
These things I have written to you, that you may know that you have eternal life, even to you that believe on the name of the Son of Yahweh.
94) Revelation 2:13
I know where you dwell, even where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast my name, and did not deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
95) Revelation 3:8
I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which none can shut), that you have a little power, and did keep my word, and did not deny my name.
We are to do all things in the Name, believe in it, hold it fast, and not deny it. If we aren’t using it, we are doing none of those. To not use the Name Yahshua is to deny it!
96) Acts 5:40
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles to them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Yahshua, and let them go.
97) Acts 5:41
They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.
The council in Jerusalem warned the disciples not to preach the Name of Yahshua, but they decided that they should obey Yahweh rather than man, and when they continued to use the Name, they were beaten, and even that beating did not deter them; they counted it as a blessing. If the apostles of the Messiah were willing to be beaten for using the Name, what is stopping us?
98) Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Sovereign Yahshua.
Paul took it a step further; he was willing to not just be beaten for using the Name, he was willing to die for it. The Name Yahshua was more important to Paul than his own life!!
99) Acts 3:16
And by faith in his name has his name made this man strong, whom you behold and know: yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Miraculous healing comes through faith in His Name.
100) Acts 10:43
To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believes on him shall receive remission of sins.
101) Acts 4:12
And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, in which we must be saved.
If there is only one Name that saves us, what is that Name? Yahshua! Not Jesus or any other name!
Conclusion
So now the question is: if the Bible has over a hundred verses that speak to the importance of keeping and using the Father and Son’s Sacred Names, can anyone who doesn’t use them call themselves a follower of the Bible? There are over 100 verses from over 25 different books from both Testaments that speak on the importance of the Sacred Names of Yahweh and Yahshua. If the Bible telling you something over 100 times doesn’t convince you, then nothing will. Also, there are even more verses that speak about the Name; these verses were narrowed down from a longer list.
Some people will still want to know why though, why is using “the Lord” so wrong? Besides the obvious answer of “because the Bible tells you to use Yahweh and Yahshua over 100 times,” Yahweh does explain why he hates that so much.
Psalm 83:18
And they shall know that your name is Yahweh alone, Most High over all the earth.
Isaiah 42:8
I am Yahweh, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to carved images.
The first thing to understand is that Yahweh says that Yahweh is the only acceptable Name, his Name is Yahweh alone, and He will not give His Glory to another name.
Exodus 34:14
for you shall worship no other El: for Yahweh, who is zealous for His Name is a jealous El:
Ezekiel 39:25
Therefore thus says the Sovereign Yahweh: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for my holy name.
Yahweh is zealous and jealous for His Name. An understandable feeling; most of us do not enjoy it when someone calls us by the wrong name.
Exodus 23:13
And in all things that I have said to you take heed: and make no mention of the name of other elohim, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.
Joshua 23:7
that you come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their elohim, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them;
Some of you may wonder, “isn’t ‘the Lord’ just the English version of Yahweh?” The answer is no, if we were to translate the Name Yahweh into English, it would be “I am that I am.” The Lord is actually an English translation of Baal, an elohim of the pagans that the Hebrews often fell away to. So when you call on “the Lord,” you are actually calling on the name of a rival elohim, an enemy of Yahweh, contrary to what Yahweh implores you to do in Exodus 23:13 and Joshua 23:7 above. That is likely why He hates “the Lord” so much. Additionally, the language of origin doesn’t matter when it comes to names. You don’t call a Latino man whose name is Juan “John,” or if their name was Jose you wouldn’t call them “Joe.” You don’t call an Asian man whose name is Wong “John.” Names do not change by language, because the proper way of dealing with a proper noun is to transliterate it (carry the sound of the word across), rather than translate it (carry the meaning of the word across).
So how did we get here? How is it that so many people use the translated name of Yahweh’s enemy rather than the transliterated Name Yahweh?
Jeremiah 44:25-26
In this manner says Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, saying, You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings to her: establish then your vows, and perform your vows. Therefore hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says Yahweh, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, As the Sovereign Yahweh lives.
The Jews in Egypt had fallen into pagan worship and so Yahweh took away His Name from them as a punishment. It is a punishment since there is such blessing and safety and joy in His Name, as we saw in previous verses. This removal of His Name continues with the Jews today, who give the excuse that the Name is too holy to pronounce (a sentiment which runs contrary to the over one hundred verses here, if it was to holy to speak aloud, how could we keep it and pray in it and sing praises to it, and what verse says it is too holy to speak aloud?). But isn’t it interesting that it is a punishment to not use the Name Yahweh? How many people out there today are punishing themselves day in and day out?
Jeremiah 23:25-27
I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart? That think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Baal.
As it is now, so it was in the past; the people have forgotten the Name Yahweh in favor of the Lord (Baal). The enemy knows that there is power and salvation in the Sacred Names, and works very hard to make sure that the people forget the name in favor of whatever title they wish to use.
I’d like to leave you with one final verse, please read it, consider it carefully, and take it to heart.
Malachi 2:2
If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, says Yahweh of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yes, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.

2023.03.18 00:53 EjmMissouri Jesus in the Sanctuary, the Gospel in Symbols

As I mentioned in my last post, I will be doing a brief study of the Ancient Hebrew Sanctuary Service before going on to the final study in Daniel 8 concerning the 2300 days. My purpose is first of all to show the prophetic nature of that sanctuary service and secondly to show how it applies directly to the cleansing of the sanctuary at the end of the 2300 days of Daniel 8. For there is indeed a ritualistic cleansing of the earhly Hebrew Sanctuary that is typical/prophetic of an end-time event that occurs shortly before Christ's second coming. So here is the first installment of this short study.

Jesus in the Sanctuary

To see Jesus in the Sanctuary is to see the everlasting gospel in types and figures. The entire building of the sanctuary, every part of it, every article, every rite, every festival associated with it had a lesson to teach to those who had eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit was saying to them through these things.
The system of sacrifices and offerings, all the rites and rituals of the sanctuary service, was all designed as an object lesson of salvation.

Immanuel, God With Us (Matthew 1:23)

Gods command to Moses for Israel was:
Exodus 25:8 Let them make Me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
Why? For what purpose? That He, God, might “dwell with them.” And He abode in the sanctuary, in the midst of His people. The sanctuary was set in the very center of the camp of Israel, indicating that God was to be the very center of their lives. And for as long as they wandered in the wilderness, this symbol of His presence was with them. Here is prefigured in types and symbols the incarnation of Christ. It is written: “they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (Matthew 1:23).
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

As a Root out of Dry Ground (Isaiah 53:2)

The roof or covering of the tabernacle consisted of four curtains of cloth or skins. The innermost curtain, glittering in the light of the seven branched candlestick, was glorious beyond description. This interior curtain was of fine linen. It was embroidered with blue, purple and scarlet threads. Cherubim made with threads of pure gold were sewn into it by highly skilled, indeed, divinely inspired, workers. This formed the ceiling of the tabernacle, and as glorious as it was, it was but a faint shadow of the canopy of glory above the throne of God, and of the myriads of angels surrounding that throne, ready to fulfill His commands.
Over this were three more layers of curtains made of various skins. All perfectly protecting the whole sanctuary from whatever weather may come, heat, cold, wind or rain. This represented the perfect shelter the Christian has from the storms of this life. Come what may, the Christian can stand secure and safe in the presence of God.
The outermost layer of skin had no outward beauty. It bore the brunt of all that the wilderness could throw at it, the heat, the cold, the rain, frost, the sand and dust storms. It protected the sanctuary against all. Consequently, though the sanctuary glittered with gold on the inside, from the outside there was nothing special about its appearance. Likewise of Christ it was prophesied of Him:
Isaiah 53:2 He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
In the eyes of the world He possessed no beauty that they should desire Him. Yet He was the incarnate God, the light of heaven and earth. That we might behold Him and not be destroyed, the manifestation of His glory was shrouded. His divinity was veiled with humanity, the invisible glory in the visible human form, that He might draw near to sorrowful, tempted men.
1 Samuel 16:7 For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

The Shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1)

Over the tabernacle rested the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. The very pillar of cloud and fire by which God led the Israelites in all their wanderings in the desert. In the midst of the desert heat those who came to the tabernacle to worship found a cool, refreshing shelter beneath that pillar of cloud, while beyond there was only the scorching heat of the desert. This is symbolic of God’s protective covering over all His people in the midst of this wicked world. The Christian is to stand so close to God as to stand in His very shadow.
Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Moreover, when the scorching heat of day gave way to the chill and darkness of night, that pillar of cloud became a pillar of fire, giving warmth and light to the whole camp of Israel. God’s immediate, visible presence in the midst of His people lit up the entire camp so there was light for all, and none need to stumble through the darkness.
John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
The world may be bitterly cold and wrapped in a spiritual darkness darker than the deepest midnight, but for the Christian there is warmth and light that the world knows nothing of.
David understood this when he wrote;
Psalm 89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O, Lord, in the light of Thy countenance.
This is also symbolic of the Christian walk. In Christ the Christian also becomes a channel of light to this darkened world.
