2023.01.07 00:17 ispeakdatruf Getting started questions

I'm thinking of dipping my toes in this pool of mead, mainly because I love Ethiopian honey wine, and the wine I used to buy has gone out of business. Since I have never done this before, I'm a bit leery of screwing up: measure 10 times and cut once, I say.
I have read the FAQs, etc. and still had some questions:
  1. After all the reading, I'm leery of glass carboys; so is it OK to use one of those large plastic water bottles that are used for water fountains? Something like this? I was thinking: maybe get this bottle of water, pour some out and just add the honey and yeast to it?
  2. My garage is a bit on the colder side (mid 50s). Is it possible to get a brew going at this temperature?
  3. When using a carboy, how do you get the brewed liquid out for bottling? Using a siphon?

2022.09.13 00:10 FloodAndFire Water delivery service for NNJ?

Can anyone recommend a reliable water delivery service (dispenser and 5-gallon jugs) for the northern NJ area? I recently started using ReadyRefresh via Costco but they suck and I want to cancel.

2022.09.02 00:46 ehtooh ReadyRefresh adding items

I have a RR subscription and every other delivery they send me iced tea or something and charge me for it. I never have ordered it and it happens regularly. When I contact them most times they do nothing, they refunded me twice only. Is there a fix or just leave?

2022.07.13 00:18 justhereamoment Cancelled a card to a subscription that wouldn’t let me cancel my account regularly, I am not receiving any product but I am now getting harassed about late fees. Do I have to pay ?

When I first moved into the apartment I’m at now a solicitor was going around selling people on ReadyRefresh - I was very tired that day from moving and let him sign me up for it just to get him off my doorstep faster. I went into the app for the service to cancel it - found out that you could only cancel by phone. I tried multiple times to reach this phone but never got through to a human. So instead I cancelled the card to the account and changed it’s forced repeat order thing to be the absolute cheapest item they had, I think a 10$ case of water.
I forgot about it until six months later where it sent me that 10$ case of water, I had thought it wouldn’t even go through because I’d cancelled my card. Turns out they charge it /afte delivery, which I never even heard of before. So because I received this one 10$ item - they’ve been harassing me about paying it. They now want 60$, 50$ in late fees. Obviously I do not wat to pay this.
My question is do I have to? I never want to use this service again, and I did try to cancel my account through regular means and was blocked by the company itself. They keep sending threatening letters about collections agencies but I don’t know how much I should be scared of them.
I should also mention I was signed for it on a debit card, not credit
I am in Texas

2022.04.07 00:36 durche63 DO NOT USE READYREFRESH!

This company has rescheduled my delivery four times since last week, barely picks up their phones, and is terrible to work with. I actually canceled my service last month, but 20 5-gallon jugs and two water dispensers have been sitting outside my home for almost 2 weeks now, and I get a text every two days saying “we have rescheduled your pickup for two days from now”. Meanwhile, no one at customer service can tell me why this is happening, as they cannot reach the local hub that actually delivers the water… I understand everyone’s having staffing issues, but this is nuts, especially when I’m getting pre-recorded messages from them saying we need your 5 gallon jugs back.
Use anyone else. Please. The service was fine when Nestlé owned the company (even though I have my own issues with their business practices) but now it’s owned by a private equity firm and they’ve truly run it into the ground.

2022.02.21 16:42 muddypigs00 (New York) Trying to cancel ReadyRefresh but need to call into customer service, but call gets dropped every time. No response to cancellation requests. Can’t remove recurring deliveries.

Hi all!
Looking for advice on how handle my current situation with ReadyRefresh. Back in Oct 2019 I was able to have a customer rep stop all recurring deliveries, essentially “closing the account”. But for some reason recurring deliveries were restarted from Nov 2021 and I have no idea how or why, it was not done by me. Now there is an outstanding balance for something I didn’t order. I can’t remove the recurring deliveries either since they require at least one recurring product at all times. I’ve sent multiple requests to close the account but they haven’t responded. I have tried calling but every single time they say the wait is under 3 minutes but then the call gets dropped.
Not sure what I can do here…they have an old credit card with my billing address and if I don’t pay it, late fees will just keep accumulating.
Thanks in advance!

2021.11.20 07:18 vmp10687 Does anyone know of a water delivery service?

I use ReadyRefresh but I am pretty unsatisfied with their customer service. Was wondering what other services are there and what other people do to get their water? Trying to minimize my 16oz water bottle usage.

2021.10.26 08:20 Remarkable_Ice3003 ReadyRefresh drinking water delivery service is a good service for apartments.

If you all are looking for ways to get pure and healthy drinking water I would recommend Ready Refresh. If you live in a apartment or suite this is a good option. They deliver water to your apartment entrance for like $6 for 3 gallons, not to mention the 3 gallon bottles are lightweight and have alot of water. I wouldn't trust new Brunswick water, just wanted to get the word out there about my positive experience.

2021.07.20 06:43 maciasfrancojesus ReadyRefresh: DO NOT RECOMMEND

I've had a terrible experience so far with the water delivery often on Costco road shows. ReadyRefresh is awful. So far, in my 3 - 4 months of "service", they have changed my delivery preferences, charged me different amounts each month, and this last delivery my order did not even arrive. They hide their customer support number and never reply the e-mails I've sent (which seem to be their preferred way of talking to customers). So far I haven't even been able to cancel the service, let alone ask for a refund or even ask where the hell my order is. Save your money. This ain't it.

2021.07.01 02:46 daisynet911 ReadyRefresh has, in fact, not delivered my order. Customer service told me this is an automated system that sends out this text when they predict the driver will deliver the water jugs. It’s now 6 hours later with no delivery and they can’t give me an updated delivery estimation.
