OPR has never been perfectly balanced, and there are definitely a few things that could be improved. These will focus on map balance, tweaks to current systems, and removal of some exploitable aspects. Some of these would be very difficult to implement (and I doubt they would ever do it), but I'm throwing them on the list anyway.
#1 - Map Balance
If we're talking about balance changes, the map should always be the first thing we look at.
#2 - Spawn Immunity
I believe this to be a good change to prevent spawn camping. With the addition of the side doors (that no one ever uses), AGS attempted to give players options against being spawn camped. Currently there is a system in place that gives players a 20 second immunity to damage (not CCs) when they respawn at their home fort. I believe this is a step in the right direction, and (even though most players still don't realize it exists) something that should not be removed.
The Change: The immunity window should be changed to apply when you enteexit the home fort instead of when you respawn after dying. This would allow players to plan their path through any spawn campers and let them pass in and out of the fort to refresh the immunity as needed. This would basically eliminate the possibility of spawn camping. Most likely the immunity would need to be reduced to around 15s for balance.
#3 - Dropping Materials
The system of gathering/killing people to get their gathered materials is great, but DID YOU KNOW that you can manually drop your gathered materials? If you do this before engaging in a fight and then you die, you lose NOTHING. ALSO, you can go back to where you manually dropped your materials and pick them all back up. This essentially bypasses the risk for gatherers as long as they're semi competent of when to pre-drop.
The Change: Prevent manually dropping all items in OPR.
#4 - Brute, Wraith, Bear
These used to be important aspects of the game, ever since they were HEAVILY nerfed they are all but useless. Currently the only use for each is as follows:
Brute - Use to break down a level 3 door. Does very little damage to players. Sometimes applies CC. Easily taken out in about 20 seconds by one player. The increase in azoth cost from 500 to 750 combined with the large nerf to their health/damage/abilities has made farming for these specifically generally detrimental to a team.
Wraith - Use to help break down a door on an unguarded point slightly faster than doing it alone. Does very little damage to players and dies if someone sneezes in its general direction.
Bear - Prevent someone from spawning their brute/wraith for about 10 seconds. Yes that's its only use. Generally does not do enough damage to overcome an average player's passive well-fed healing.
#5 - Capturing Control Points
Capturing and holding as many of the 3 control points on the map as possible is the main goal of the gametype, but it has very little incentive. Most players focus more on kills (which are worth 1 point each, but usually add up to less than 100 points per game) than map control (which accounts for the other 90%). The following changes would incentivize playing with the objective in mind.
The Changes: Add 5 points to a team's overall match score (X/1000) for each player standing in the circle when it is fully captured. Additionally, change point multiplier for kills to the amount of control points held (Minimum multiplier x1 with 0 points held).
#6 - Baron
This has been spoken about officially, but I agree some sort of barrier should be placed around the entrances to baron to prevent that stray final shot snipe from across the map. I don't have a huge issue with it, but I do believe that the gametype should stay with a focus of area control and a damage barrier on the entrances would be welcome, depending on how it is implemented.

#1 - Map Balance
If we're talking about balance changes, the map should always be the first thing we look at.
- Currently the distance/time to get to Sun is around 5 seconds different. While this doesn't seem like much, the first team to get on point does have a significant advantage and a much better chance at success on the initial capture. Additionally (although very minor), the buy station in mid is skewed to one side which also gives a slight advantage (this also technically applies to the command post and storage as well).
- One spawn side has more gatherable wood (which is also closer together and able to be gathered faster). A gathebuild role positioned on the lower of the two sides will take around 30s longer to gather the same amount of wood.
- While one side's home point has visibility of both roads leading to it, while the other side does not have visibility of the road leading to/from mid and can be taken by surprise much easier.
- One side's home fort has railings around the edge that cannot be jumped over while the other side does not.
- The outskirts of the map on each side are VASTLY different. One side has a sheer cliff that is relatively close while the other side has about a 2 minute run north past the spawn zone to an eventual peninsula. This isn't necessarily a problem, but for a distraction role it comes into play quite a bit and what works on one side doesn't always work on the other.

We feel the main challenge for DayZ players should come from Environmental Factors, like Zombie Hordes, EVR Storms, Hunger, Illness and others. Don't expect to be able to live off of canned food, you will have to catch Fish or hunt Chickens, Deers, Wolves, Bears, etc. to be able to stay alive!
In Game Seasons are changing with IRL Seasons. At the moment it's Spring Time, so it's getting warmer and the snow melted but freezing cold Temperatures can still freeze your food and bless you with Frostbite if you aren't cautious about your Body Heat and the Clothing you are wearing!
To enhance the Survival Experience we combined Chernarus with Namalsk Island. That means you can travel with ONE Character from the main map, Chernarus, to an even more harsh environment - Namalsk! š²š„¶š»āļø

I bailed on my cryptid hunter role playing playthrough last year bc I kept running out of ammo with my rifle build. I really do not want to run daily ops or grind events just to have enough ammo to explore the map.
I suppose I could start a new character but I would rather not have to go through the intro again. Is it possible to change a lvl 30ish character into a more melee focused build so I donāt burn through ammo? I feel the call to return to Appalachia and hunt cryptids but donāt want to get bogged down by the resource grind.

 | The path of design for Escape from Norwood was one of learning a trade and breaking preconceptions. I had so many biased ideas that I could write a lot of these posts, but letās focus here one the open-worldliness of the game. submitted by SingularWorks to EscapeFromNorwood [link] [comments] It's the numbers, stupid!This comes back to the MUD roots of Escape from Norwood: in the world of MUDs, just like in their MMORPG grand-children, content is a key driver of player interest and retention. Keep the players fed with new locations, new quests, new items, new challenges, and they will keep playing, sometimes paying.So I set out to put a lot of content into Escape from Norwood, and was quite sad when I did the numbers and realized I could only include so much if I wanted the build phase to be a matter of months and not of years. I was lured by the magical appeal of numbers: that many quests, that much geography, such a gigantic number of hours of fun and playā¦ I thought players would meh me if I could not boast impressive figures in that category. It figures (early version of the website) I also thought that this heap of content should be flaunted early on in the game to make the players want more and see how rich the game was. Everything, everywhere, all at onceI had settletd on an open-world (or should I say Ā« open city Ā»?) design: I have personally loved open worlds back from the days of Arena and Daggerfall: the feeling of being able to go anywhere at anytime is sweet to the Explorer dominant in my player personality. I was not totally insensible, so I chopped down the game map in areas that would be more or less hard to reach and explore. The goal was to match the pace of players' discovery with the advancement of the story and its various acts. Obviously, this included exceptions and shortcuts depending on the order in which they did their quests and solved riddles.Yet I thought that if a quest triggered in the beginning area it should be immediately available to taunt players. Even though it could only resolve after hours of play and unlocking new zones, it was sitting there on your diary from the first hour of play. Does it not beg for exploration? And I built it, and it was fast, and it was richā¦ and the first alpha tester spent 100 hours completing the game (without requesting hints; but stillā¦). That particular player did not mind, but I thought something was clearly wrong. Then more feedback came from testers about the difficulty to understand what to do next and to discriminate between a quest that was legitimately blocked due to a place / ability they could not discover yet and quests they should really focus on solving because they had everything they needed right there. Easier, Better, Slower, StrongerSo I reworked the pacing through three means:
Dear old Baruk originally had a trigger for this quest during Act 1 A way out of the infodumpThe same treatment was done regarding the plot: I wanted to show all stakes at once, shoveling an overwhelming heap of exposition in the early stages of the game. Since a fair chunk of this would only become relevant further down the line, it was cluttering the diary and memory real estate of the players.So I kept the main plot elements early on to set the stage, albeit in a more subdued way, and pushed whatever was not immediately necessary later in the game. Discover who you are, where you are, learn about people, economics and social order before you are thrown in the middle of conspiracies and learn inconvenient truths about your past, then about the Empire itself. Wait, who is Ahad? The result is far more elegant, even if still not perfect. As the game relies on acute observation and thinking, players can still feel lost as to what to do next and enter crunch mode of trying the same thing in less and less obvious circumstances (or, even worse, give up on the game). This Ā« 90ās point'n Click Ā» flair may not be the most adequate to modern gaming and modern players, and I would probably be more lenient and branching should I do it all again. Still, I hope this makes Escape from Norwood an enjoyable ride, if you are a fit for this style of game or not the one to shun an occasional peek at the gameās walkthrough on this sub. |

I am trying to reach my 20k chest and while I have a ton of points I can grab alone, there are also a ton of points in old story lines that would be easier with a group. Hoping to find a guild that has some focus on people getting together to get AP, events in semi dead maps, challenge mode story lines, dungeons, whatever.

2023.03.23 21:40 itsmethebabyotter I don't understand how gigs work
I noticed on the map if I hover over the fixer for the zone, so for example Wakako, it shows I have completed 0/8 "gigs". I went to talk to Wakako but I have no new dialogue options. I tried to message her but nothing new there either. I don't see any "gigs" in my journal. I picked a random "side job" from that zone, completed it but it still says 0/8 completed.
I'm thoroughly confused as to how gigs work in this game and how I'm supposed to advance them. Also my gig count for Regina is stuck on 1 I assume because I'm still working on the Cyberpyscho gig which I don't see how I can complete anytime soon since I'm so low level.

TLDR: Game is fun but repetitive. Unfortunate that it follows very cookie-cutter design for characters, combat, gear, and dialogue when the IP is so unique.
Plenty of clothing options in a variety of period-appropriate styles
Broom customization
Home base customization and assets
Good plot
Some twists I didnāt see coming
Faithful to Wizarding World lore
Beautiful and appropriately expanded map
Plenty of fast travel
Side missions and collectibles are appropriately spaced out
Various mounts for different styles of travel
Aiming is easy and fluid during combat
Spells are unique enough and can be upgraded to have greater effect

2023.03.23 20:51 Endonian The DM Who Blew Up His Game When We Said We Were Uncomfortable. TW mentions of sexual assault.
The cast of this story:
Me: Myself, and I, a SorcereFighter Gremlin: My partner, a magus Captain: The leader of our in-game party and a close friend of everyone present, a rogue Knives: Captainās poly partner, my partnerās close friend and unfortunately an enabler for our problem player, a cleric. Newbie: Mine and Gremlinās roommate. Ogre: A (now former) friend to everyone at the table. Our problem player, the DM for this game.
So, backstory. We were playing a homebrew campaign based around Kingmaker, run by Ogre. Standard stuff, Aldori swordlord tells us we can have a barony if we can map and clear out some land. When we start the game is pretty fun. Thereās a good party dynamic, everyone tries to be friendly, though this part is not without its issues. From day one Gremlin is regularly spoken over, not just by DM. They donāt have a very forceful personality, so they can pretty easily get left behind in conversation. Add to that a short attention span from everyone at the table and you have a recipe for upset players. So we bring it up to Ogre. He personally apologizes and assures us he will make an effort to include Gremlin.
And just like that we think the problem is solved. Only, it isnāt. It only takes a short time before things resume as they were. Now weāre a little miffed, so we just try to let it go and I try my best to ensure that Gremlin is getting some screen time.
Somehow I think us even bringing that up made him mad, or maybe he just didnāt like Gremlin, because everyone got a little bit of their backstory woven into the story EXCEPT Gremlin. Tensions are beginning to build, but Knives and Ogre are only making it worse by overtly flirting as Ogre passes out endless plot hooks to her. Ugh. We try our best to just make it work and I do some in character work to make sure Gremlinās backstory is at least mentioned, since we had our characters be old friends.
So, we move on to a plot arc where weāre supposed to save a Baronet from a demon. Cool! Classic damsel in distress, easy hook, finally weāre all invested. Awesome!
How naive could we have been.
When we save her, her mouth has been stitched shut. Brutal, but not outside our comfort zones. However he has this damsel LITERALLY cling to my character to the point she wonāt bathe without my help. This made me very uncomfortable to begin with, but then he puts on his neckbeardiest grin and says:
āYou see that her genitals are bleeding. The demon had his way with her.
Iām shocked. The table goes completely quiet. After a few moments of white-knuckled clenching, I tell him Iām not comfortable with themes of sexual assault because there are people at the table who went through it. He says itās fine because heās been sexually assaulted too. In utter disbelief, I tell him thatās not okay and that not everyone processes it the same way.
He responds by blowing up the game. Me and my partner left then and there and the campaign completely died. Nobody wants to be his friend anymore after that.
TL;DR neckbeard former friend decides that his experiences trump everyone elseās, makes everyone uncomfortable, game implodes.

Stay Alive is a DayZ server, mostly focused on PvP/Basebuilding/Raiding however you can play as you like.

As slow zones remain in place in numerous areas across the MBTA subway system, the agency rolled out an online tool Thursday to give riders some sense of when and where their train might slow down.
The Tās new speed restrictions dashboard showed that the slow-zone problem has only grown worse, with 27 percent of all subway track under some kind of speed restriction, a big jump from 7.5 percent at the end of February.
The dashboard provides slow-zone data for each of the Tās four subway lines, including a map that shows where the restrictions are in place and the allowed speed rate for trains traveling along those stretches of track.
The dashboard is not live ā it is updated each morning with data from the previous day, the MBTA said in a statement Thursday. The agency encouraged riders to sign up for T alerts for real-time information.
In the statement, MBTA interim General Manager Jeff Gonneville said the dashboard was launched to provide customers with ātransparent and timely information.ā
āThe dashboard delivers information that is clear and will assist riders in better understanding why they are experiencing slower conditions while riding the T,ā Gonneville said. āAs we continue to validate and address track deficiencies, we also expect that over time, this platform will demonstrate the progress weāre making to remove speed restrictions. We know these restrictions impact ridersā daily commutes and we will continue to be transparent about the ongoing, daily work to improve our transit system.ā

How does Hell's bureaucracy affect my player's characters you may ask. There's a case to be made that adventuring in Hell is not necessarily about killing bigger and more powerful Devils, but also about navigating a hostile and alien landscape. I'll get to the physical landscape later, but the legal landscape is also important. Devils are especially legal creatures. Now, the players are not going to be interacting with every part of Hell's legal environment, but I can imagine several possible points of contention.
The first and foremost is:
Avernus Parking Authority Parking an Infernal Machine anywhere other than an approved parking lot or parking space is cause for ticketing. Multiple tickets can result in your Infernal Machine being booted or even towed. Nevermind that some approved parking lots have only handicapped spaces, or may be on steep inclines over pits filled with lava or acid, or infested with redcaps. Once your Machine is towed, you will have to deal with the devils at the impound lot, which is a whole other kettle of fish.
Division of Infernal Machines second only to the APA in nefariousness, the DIM licenses, registers, and inspects both Machines and their drivers. Any Infernal Affairs Officer who pulls you over for speeding will ask to see your license, registration, proof of insurance, customs paperwork for any cargo you may be transporting, proof that the insane amount of cash you have on hand is not intended to be used in any criminal activity, documented proof of weapons training and proficiency, and anything else the DM can come up with in the moment. Should the players choose to not flout the law (is there a LG paladin in the party?), they will need to travel to the DIM office when it is open from the hours of 2:00 to 2:15 in the afternoon on alternate Shrievesdays, and wait on line. And wait. And wait. And then they will be asked for their documents - HERE is a list of documents required by the State of New Jersey's DMV to get a license, to give you an idea how well this can go for your players.
Infernal Affairs handles general policing in the Nine Hells. Note that indiscriminate killing of Devils is frowned upon in Hell. Devils can re-constitute if they are killed on other planes. Here in Hell, they are permanently destroyed. That's one soul out of Asmodeus's pocket, one soul less to fight the Blood War. One less soul that can be forged into a soul coin. Killing Devils costs Asmodeus money, essentially. Do not fuck with Asmodeus's money. IA handles everything from arresting and charging adventurers with murder to ticketing them for littering.
Avernus Zoning and Housing Authority Do you have a permit for that Leomund's Tiny Hut? Taxes up to date? No? Heh.
Infernal Postal Service Interfering with the delivery of the mail is a big deal in Hell. Accidentally harming or killing an imp carrying letters or packages from the IPS is grounds for massive penalties. Do not mess with the postal service.
Department of Environmental Protection Who knew that in Hell catoblepasses and flocks of migratory harpies are protected species? That fireballs can cause damage to critical Stygian wetlands? That leaving dead bodies on the ground to rot is unsanitary, and worthy of being fined for improper disposal of a corpse? The DEP, that's who.
Avernus Tourism Board As an example of the lighter side of the bureaucracy, you can have posters or information kiosks for the ATB in unlikely locations. Posters can advertise spots in Avernus for vacation getaways, some of which may not have been blasted into oblivion. Information kiosks carry maps and brochures, and may have a devil on hand to give information on great hunting and fishing locations, hotels and restaurants, guided tours of notable ruins, Stygian cruises, ghost tours, nightlife in the Purple City. Assume that there's at least one aquarium somewhere in Avernus.
Penalities Many of these departments have the power to issue tickets, levy fines, impound vehicles, and even arrest and incarcerate the characters. A ticket for littering should be like maybe 10gp, while destroying protected wetlands might carry a fine measured in hundreds of soul coins. Committing murder or other serious crimes against Hell may bring the full weight of the Infernal legal system down on the players.
As the players are trying to negotiate the bureaucracy, lower level bureaucrats can be played as faceless and interchangeable, but when and if the players start dealing with higher ups - Did someone just ask to speak to the supervisor? - the higher level guys should have enough personality to potentially become re-occurring villains.

We've seen it over and over again in print: Hell is a bureaucracy. Yet somehow, this bureaucracy is never described, and no indication is given how exactly it may interact with the characters. Perhaps WoTC and previously, TSR, thought that bureaucracy is boring and adventures centered around it, or even mildly affected by bureaucracy couldn't possibly be fun for players. NOT TRUE. In fact, West End Games built an entire game - Paranoia - around a bureaucracy gone mad. In Hell, we have a bureaucracy gone evil. Greetings travelers of the Omnistructure.
In this review, I'd like to write down my experience and opinions that I thus far had.
But for everyone wanting a TL;DR:
This game is great and can become fantastic with more time. Currently I'd say it's a rough gem but still a gem. I would wish for everyone to give this game a fair chance maybe not now, but in the future.
It's probably a niche game that can be quite empty at times and not everyone likes something like that.
For everyone else who would like to have a more in-depth view, let's begin with:
- The Art -
A lot of story telling is conveyed through the general aesthetic of this game and I find it to be inspired.
It is wast, desolate and the scale is "epic", meaning everything is very exaggerated and making you feel small and insignificant in comparison. It is melancholic and conveys a sense of insignificance.
Examples would be something like "Akira", "Ghost in the Shell" "E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy", "Kenshi" and "Shadow of the Colossus".
This also is reflected in the color pallet of the game. Grey, brown, green, more grey, occasional red and blue and last and not least grey. This helps make certain colors stand out more especially at the end and is very fitting for a urban derelict yet it needs to be mentioned because it is not for everybody.
That being said, I can see how this might be a problem for some.
It means longer than usual travel paths with nothing but the sight to take in. Vast buildings being empty inside without anything but your mortality to find in, are but a few things to mention.
For me personally though it hit the right spot. I do not mind that exploration in itself is reward enough and I enjoyed looking through the emptiness that manifested outside of my own mind.
It's like the moment right before the realisation kicks in that you're dreaming. Impossible architecture, familiar things warped into something slightly unreal, something like that.
It isn't for everyone but that is fine. I think for the few who enjoy these sights, they have created something truly fantastic to behold.
While I wouldn't say that they have created something new or groundbreaking with their designs in general, I'd still like to point out that everything has been made with a high level of competence.
I much rather see something being made solid instead of something innuitive that falls apart.
- Graphics -
I'd say it's very solid. It doesn't go for hyper realism or tries to do so. It's probably more akin to upgraded Playstation 3. I think something around that era is fair to point out.
Not groundbreaking but definitely not bad. I do like it!
- Level Design -
It is fantastic. Every map is interwoven with another in some way so you have lots of options where you want to go and explore first! This is also very helpful in creating new characters and getting essential items quickly.
That being said, it can be confusing at times. Since almost everything has a collision, you are already prone to explore where you are not supposed to, which adds not only more to the big spaces that already exist, but sometimes an unforunate death.
While I would like this not being changed because I have a great deal exploring out of bounds stuff, I understand that this adds another level of frustration to some players.
Yet it stays coherent (if you can make sense of it) and you can see it again being created with competence. I still have so many places to fall down from.
- Soundscape and OST -
Very much the same from the art direction can be put here in sense of sound and music.
The music accents the scale and insignificance one can feel while being confronted by physics breaking structures that escape comprehension. It is there to make you feel melancholic and small and it excels in it. Very great ambience!
General sound effect from abilities, combat, the sound you make while walking too is superb.
Ofc. there are some minor inconsistencies. From attacks sounds rarely playing before the hit comes out, the mobious blade not only being a flash bang but a loud orchestra of BRRZZZT or sometimes things being silent all together, I haven't encountered much if at all that really took me out of the game.
Something worth mentioning is the fact that the Music playing in the general zones is more a playlist than a proper ambient OST. So you can hear the start and ending of a track which either repeats itself again, or starts another track.
The bosses on the other hand have all unique tracks and I do not yet tire to hear any of the zones or boss music.
And fuck me, I wish they had elevator music because this game has some long ass elevators.
- General Gameplay -
I find it difficult to pick out something noteworthy, since it is very generic to it's genere. But I suppose that is a good thing!
There's not much different to other games like these "souls likes" and that's fine.
A honorable mention: You can swim! Though I wished that it would've played a bigger part. And climbing has been taken out because of something I will be adressing later on.
- Combat -
Probably one of the most important part about the game and one of the most flawed ones.
While again, it being in it's essence generic to the genere, it is spiced up with the possibility to do combos which basically means chaining attacks, blocks and parries with each other.
This reminded me very much about the combat style of "The Witcher 1" with a mix of Soulslike. Alot of people dislike this combat style and I too have to admit that this is probably the jankiest part about the game.
Having to reset your string because you started off wrong, hits sometimes going through one dealing no damage, some attack hit boxes being out for too long and ghost hitting you, sometimes a parry counts, sometimes not and so on.
It is probably the biggest deal breaker for most people and I understand why. It at the beginning feels not very intuitive, some of the right times to click feel off, janky enemies first sliding at you just to turn around and hit the air, this all can take one out of the flow.
While being good enough, I hope improvements will be made here to make everything more intuitive and fluid.
BECAUSE greatness sometimes shows through! I have a more fluid combat feel than Bloodborne in where I am just able to chain attacks into parries flawlessly and it just feel so good!
This is why this hurts the most because you clearly see the light in there just to have something scuffed take it away and it shows the most in the bossfights.
But in it's defence I have to state: It is very manageable. It's not completely broken but also far from perfect.
My hope is to see improvements being made here in the future.
- Character developement -
In this, it is going a more unique route. You do not have levels to grind or souls, echoes, whatever to collect. You have base stats which are determined by gear.
This enables a flexibility because you can just equip and try out whatever you want. This becomes less effective the more you go through the game because at that point it expects you to start specialising.
But that doesn't mean that you can't specialize in being an allrounder!
Something very unique to the game is the "Perk System". After defeating a boss, you gain an Essence which can be stabilized and in turn used to skill a perk or upgrade an existing one!
This can be many things: From Lifeleech, to block specialisation, making heavy armor more effectiveness to better Archery. I need to point out that it was slightly buggy at the beginning, being able to skill the same twice only gaining one of it which has been fixed. But it was kind of a bummer since you cannot respecc.
Each perk is passive, so only a few require an action to take effect.
Besides Perks, there are Abilities. These are actions you can take and at any given time you can have two of them active.
They can be "bought" through Abilitysplinters you find inside the game world and unlike perks, are interchangeable. As long as you have splinters that is.
Abilities can be found on weapons too, some similar to equal weapon types, some unique. These can also be passives. Imagine them being Ashes of War from Elden Ring with sometimes one weapon holding two.
This makes it easy to try different things out but Perks since they are fixed and will be locked in. You can chose where and whenever you want to spend one or more such points.
- Bugs and certain Animations -
As to be expected from a new 3 man team, this game has it's rough edges. From aforementioned sliding enemies, speccing perks double to have only one benefit, they teleporting themselves into the void, you being grabbed with them, a bug where I wasn't able to target or being targeted, falling through collision, and many more things, there were only a small handfull of times where I was either stuck or died.
The biggest bugs I encountered where the non target thingies, a memory leak, being stuck in a wall or big things grabbing me to take me with them into oblivion, nothing was truly game breaking. Usually restarting a game fixed the issue. In total that was like 4 times.
Ohh and to it's credit I had in roughly 50 game hours one crash which was probably because of me. Hihi.
The truly noteworthy thing here is the keyword "Animations".
Because of a animations package they bought which contained stolen assets from other games due to no fault of their own, some of the jankyness can be explained by them using filler animations or downright deleting some because of that.
I have to shout out their ability to not only react quickly to this but also having their game run without much troubles. I think they have handled the situation well and I as consumer had very little issues because of that.
- Lore and NPCs -
As of right now, a couple of days ago a new patch appeared adding more NPCs and lore notes. I cannot comment much on this as of right now, since there wasn't much, but the pre existing NPCs all have well written dialogue and the Archinquisitor has a fantastic way to tell you to fuck off.
- Last Words -

I hope you found this one informative and might help you to decide wether or not to buy this game, despite me basically saying a lot of "Yeah it's good".
Despite me having a great fondness for it, I hope It did not warp my writing greatly.
I cannot recommend this game to everyone, it is not too difficult but because of the rough edges. I wouldn't get it if you hate long travel paths and a clunky feeling combat system.
What I would like to see is, that this game gets a proper chance from the people because I am of the opinion it is absolutely worth it.
If this game slightly peaks your interest, please give it a try! It doesn't have to be now, it would be fair enough to wait some time, let this game get some patches and grab it on a sale.
But I whole heartely hope you do!
I would also command the great work ethics of the developement team. Patches rolled in even on the weekend and they treat it like a passion project and refuse to let it die which is always fantastic to see.
It is clearly a project of passion and competence from a very small team that deserve better.

I need to point out that it was slightly buggy at the beginning, being able to skill the same twice only gaining one of it which has been fixed. But it was kind of a bummer since you cannot respecc.
Each perk is passive, so only a few require an action to take effect.
Besides Perks, there are Abilities. These are actions you can take and at any given time you can have two of them active.
They can be "bought" through Abilitysplinters you find inside the game world and unlike perks, are interchangeable. As long as you have splinters that is.
Abilities can be found on weapons too, some similar to equal weapon types, some unique. These can also be passives. Imagine them being Ashes of War from Elden Ring with sometimes one weapon holding two.
This makes it easy to try different things out but Perks since they are fixed and will be locked in. You can chose where and whenever you want to spend one or more such points.
- Bugs and certain Animations -
As to be expected from a new 3 man team, this game has it's rough edges. From aforementioned sliding enemies, speccing perks double to have only one benefit, they teleporting themselves into the void, you being grabbed with them, a bug where I wasn't able to target or being targeted, falling through collision, and many more things, there were only a small handfull of times where I was either stuck or died.
The biggest bugs I encountered where the non target thingies, a memory leak, being stuck in a wall or big things grabbing me to take me with them into oblivion, nothing was truly game breaking. Usually restarting a game fixed the issue. In total that was like 4 times.
Ohh and to it's credit I had in roughly 50 game hours one crash which was probably because of me. Hihi.
The truly noteworthy thing here is the keyword "Animations".
Because of a animations package they bought which contained stolen assets from other games due to no fault of their own, some of the jankyness can be explained by them using filler animations or downright deleting some because of that.
I have to shout out their ability to not only react quickly to this but also having their game run without much troubles. I think they have handled the situation well and I as consumer had very little issues because of that.
- Lore and NPCs -
As of right now, a couple of days ago a new patch appeared adding more NPCs and lore notes. I cannot comment much on this as of right now, since there wasn't much, but the pre existing NPCs all have well written dialogue and the Archinquisitor has a fantastic way to tell you to fuck off.
- Last Words -

I hope you found this one informative and might help you to decide wether or not to buy this game, despite me basically saying a lot of "Yeah it's good".
Despite me having a great fondness for it, I hope It did not warp my writing greatly.
I cannot recommend this game to everyone, it is not too difficult but because of the rough edges. I wouldn't get it if you hate long travel paths and a clunky feeling combat system.
What I would like to see is, that this game gets a proper chance from the people because I am of the opinion it is absolutely worth it.
If this game slightly peaks your interest, please give it a try! It doesn't have to be now, it would be fair enough to wait some time, let this game get some patches and grab it on a sale.
But I whole heartely hope you do!
I would also command the great work ethics of the developement team. Patches rolled in even on the weekend and they treat it like a passion project and refuse to let it die which is always fantastic to see.
It is clearly a project of passion and competence from a very small team that deserve better.
