RFC7217: lets any programmer create his own SLAAC IPv6 addresses. There is no need for these addresses to be obtained from the ISP or ever be renumbered. After checking for duplicates, they can become permanent. ISPs are obligated by the standard to route UDP and TCP packets based in the first 64 bits, the network id, of these GUA addresses, to any target machine.
Reachability: This much is true. ISPs do route these addresses to anywhere. They do not, however, send them on to the destination once received, at least for residential ISP services. This is called the residential ISP IPv6 reachability issue. IPv4 packets, on the other hand, are both routable and reachable today, disregarding for the sake of discussion, NAT.
I have implemented and tested a full Windows implementation of this RFC and can back up my assertions with code and test results. I expect to be discussing these results with others in this community with similar experience.
Secret key: is one of the ingredients in an RFC7217 address. It can't be emphasized enough the importance of the question of who owns this key. Just take the crypto exchange debacle which has been unfolding since Mt. Gox to FTX. What was the problem? Users let their private keys be copied into central servers. The copying process meant they lost ownership. Likewise, OS implementations retain private keys "on the users behalf", but take them none the less, just like crypto exchanges, away from the user. RFC7217 solves that issue because neither the OS, exchange server nor ISP can take the secret private key away from its creator owner.
Impl: this reddit community is for programmers, but scripters are of course welcome. Podcasts and IPv6 discussions make no distinction between the two. However, these communities and their experiences AFAIAC are distinct, where programmers have gotten the short end of the information stick. Hence, this community opportunity.
Conclusion: I want for this functionality to succeed. I think IPv6 success is dependent on owning your own secret keys and thus implementations built around that invariant. My framework is currently hobbled by the ISP IPv6 reachability issue, and is forcing it to remain on IPv4. That is ok for now, but I eventually want to rise up against the ISPs and force them to change. I would like to develop a community of like-minded to eventually consider that option.

Je rentre du boulot et de la manif comme si de rien était en slalomant entre les lacrymo et les voitures de la bac qui roulent à toute vitesse dans les rue piétonnes, j'évite soigneusement les lieux où ça a chauffé dans la journée pour préserver mes pneus et chambres à air des débris. Me voilà donc arrivé comme de par hasard derrière la gare de Caen, ya une belle route 1x1 voie pour les tutures et de chaque côté de la route, ya une piste cyclable plutôt généreuse en largeur (où il y a moyen de pédaler sans trop de faire tailler un short par les bagnoles) MAIS, la où je voulais en venir, v'là t'y pas qu'ya la piste cyclable qui ne sert non pas de piste cyclable mais de dépose minute pour la gare, au début, je toc aux vitres pour signaler aux pilotes qu'ils ne sont pas très bien garés mais en avançant, je vois que ce ne sont pas que deux ou trois voitures qui squattent la piste cyclable mais bel et bien des dizaines ! Soit dit en passant, ya un beau dépose genre pas à cent mètres de la gare, mais pile poile à côté de la sortie de la gare (et souvent vide accessoirement) Vu le nombre de voiture et la météo peu clémente pour un pauvre cycliste, j'ai continué mon chemin en retournant tout les rétroviseurs des véhicules garés sur la piste cyclable, j'ai bien eu des claxons d'encouragement et quelques insultes de soutiens. :)
Rassurez-vous, les voitures sont aujourd'hui équipées de rétroviseurs qu'on peut plier dans tout les sens, un petit coup de pouce pour le remettre en place et c'est de l'histoire ancienne.

We live in Illinois. My wife was dining out a restaurant several months ago with some girlfriends and took her wedding ring off to wash her hands in the bathroom. It has some texture and grooves that she didn't want to get soap in. She left it on the shelf by the mirror in the bathroom. It was right before closing and by the time she realized an hour or so later what had happened they were closed. She went back next morning when they opened to see if it was there or if anyone had turned it in and no one had. Presumably another patron or someone from the staff took it and made no "good faith" effort to return it. Also, my wife is a nurse and typically has to remove her ring for work so it's not unusual for her to have to take it off. (Some people feel naked without their ring, but my wife can't wear it at work so it's not unusual for her to remove it).
She filed a police report on it with pictures. They told her not to go to pawn shops or jewelry stores looking for it. They would "handle it".
We attempted to file an insurance claim with our homeowner's insurance, but they said we didn't have a specific rider for it and wouldn't cover it. My wife has been beating herself up over it for months.
We were looking into getting a replacement done but the ring was very unique and we hadn't done so yet as we were having problems finding someone to make a replacement. It was an art deco style with lots of small stones on a riser on each side that went up to a central larger stone. I think I paid around $1800 for it in 2005. The jewelry store that originally made it closed and has been out of business for years.
Today, some 3 months later, my wife was at a pawn shop and they had her ring for sale. She told the pawn shop that she believed it was her lost/stolen ring and that she had filed a police report. She showed the pawn shop pictures of it on her phone. They agreed it was likely her ring, but they would not return it. She asked who brought it in and they refused to tell her. They offered to sell it back to her at a discount. They were asking $1500 but offered to sell it to her for $1200. She was concerned that if she left to get the police involved (which could have taken hours or days) then the ring would be "gone" when she returned. She ended up rebuying it for $1200. I told her she probably should have called the police before rebuying it, but what's done is done.
Is there any recourse for us to get the $1200 back? Or, should we chalk this up to a (very expensive) lesson to be more careful in the future?
Her ring is very distinctive and unique and is clearly not a different similar ring. It's 100% her lost/stolen ring. We have pictures of it going back to 2005 when I bought it.

Pourtant, ils devraient participer activement à la sécurité puisqu'ils sont par nature fragiles et en contact avec le trafic. À ce niveau, un piéton à plus de marge de manœuvre pour garantir la sécurité car il a un meilleur champ de vision et il est beaucoup plus facile d'arrêter une masse de 70kg à 3km/h qu'une autre de 1500kg à 50km/h. Heureusement il y a des passages piétons ou des zones de rencontre pour garantir une priorité pour traverser. Mais même un piéton qui traverse à son feu rouge et qui se fait renverser ne sera pas inquiété, bien qu'en tort, et recevra même des indemnités. D'ailleurs ça marche partout sur la route du moment que ce n'est pas un acte délibéré.
Il faudrait donc bouger le curseur de la responsabilité et que la loi soit plus sévère pour éviter tout sentiment d'immunité (pour ce qui concerne les adultes valides, je conçois bien que tout le monde peut être piéton et que ça implique des cas particuliers).

Busses came every 5 minutes downtown, 10 minutes in more suburban areas, and 15 minutes on the outskirts, guaranteed schedules.
Free bus passes for the first year for all residents and discounts for certain people's after (students, seniors, military, etc).
Security was on board at all times.
Assume busses run 24 hours.

5:23 PM: A young girl identifying herself as Emily Brown contacted the 911 operator, Jennifer Morton, to report being abducted by a man in a teddy bear costume. This transcript has been made available due to the poor audio quality of the call. The victim speaks in hushed tones and can often be difficult to understand. A recording is available upon request.
911 Operator: 911, what's your emergency?
Caller: Please help me! My name is Emily Brown and a man in a bear costume [Inaudible] from the park on Lover’s Lane. I think he’s going to kill me.
911 Operator: Okay, I’m having trouble hearing you. Can you try to speak up?
Caller: I can’t. He threw me in the back of a van and I don’t want him to hear me. It’s loud back here and [Inaudible] windows are painted black. I tried opening the door, but it was locked.
911: Okay, sweety. Keep whispering. Do you know where he is taking you?
Caller: No, I can’t see out of the windows and there is a metal wall between the back and the cab. It’s completely dark in here. We’ve only been moving for a few minutes. Oh God, Oh God, Oh God… he’s going to kill me.
