2023.03.09 15:47 2nd-ratemachine MDLR Cases

Has any bought an MDLR case recently? If so, how long did it take to receive it? I placed an order nearly a week ago, received an automated order confirmation and have been trying to contact them to confirm shipping details with no response. I read a thread on Mod Wiggler that’s freaked me out. I feel like I’ve just sent a shit load of money to a company that doesn’t give a fuck.

2023.01.03 23:19 Reverbolo Tanpura VST like Raagini by Sound Labs?

Does anyone here know of a Tanpura VST like Raagini by Sound Labs? Both Suicide and The Vacant Lots use one and it sounds so interesting!
Please and thank you! :-D
Note: I do have the Lira 8 by Mod Wiggler, but was looking for something closer to the Electric Tanpura Raagini by Sound Labs.

2022.11.05 23:28 GoldenTongue79 Next step recommendations for my baseline Eurorack rig

So I took the plunge into Eurorack and I. LOVE. IT. I’m looking for advice about next steps for my rig, both on terms of good sites for research and good brands/modules for beginners.
So far, my rig consists of 2x84p Behringer Eurorack Racks filled with mostly Behringer System 100 modules: 112 Dual VCO 121 Dual VCF 130 Dual VCA 140 Dual Env + LFO 150 Ring Mod/Noise/S&H/LFO 297 Dual Portamento/Dual mixer 173 Quad gate / Mults 305 EQ/MixeOutputs
My original intent was to build a baseline System 100 clone. What I realized is that without the 172 Phase/ShifteDelay, it’s missing a lot of that System 100 mojo (but still has a decent amount of it).
What I realized along the way is that I have a decent foundation for a Eurorack system. So I took my first foray into building out the system by adding a Doepfer A-124 Wasp filter, which is GORGEOUS.
I’ve now begun an obsessive journey of reading up on Eurorack, realizing that I probably started in not an entirely wrong way, but certainly far from well researched and prepared.
My next purchase will be a buffered mult module. Any suggestions for other modules that should be on my list?
Also, in my research, I’m finding Doepfer, Mutable Instruments, and Intellijel as the brands that seem the sexiest/best value (certainly Doepfer for value). Any other brands I should be considering?
Also, I’ve been coming here, as well as visiting Mod Wiggler, Gearspace, and Modular Grid to do my research. Any other places I should be visiting?
Thanks for reading this lengthy post and for any advice you can offer a long winded noob.

2022.10.21 00:00 atacamasand Recording modular: your favorite analog-to-digital converters and systems for getting the music out...

I'm a beginner in Eurorack and in a strange position: I've recorded with modular a lot, have made albums, but with vintage, pre-Eurorack equipment and an older analog-digital converter. When I recorded, a ran lines (minijack to 1/4") from my modulars' VCAs into a MOTU 828 and it worked fine.
Now I'm using Eurorack, and the advice I get leads me to believe that things are rather more complicated now. I have been told, among other things, that Eurorack signals are too hot for many interfaces, one should run a balanced line out from the modular (using a TRS jack), etc. There's also a whole world of new tools/technologies I am ignorant of: ADAT, onboard converters, etc.
At present I have a Eurorack modular system, a 2015 MacBook Pro running Logic X, and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. I've been recording using unbalanced lines running from the modular's VCAs into the 2i4. It seems to work OK, but, again, I've been told I should use a lower output level, and the connection should be balanced. I also have a Moog DAFM, which I record directly into the 2i4.
I need to upgrade the system. I need more inputs, for a start. I'd like something that allows me to have (at least) 8 separate inputs (the possibility of outs, like the MOTU 828, would be nice). It needs to work with my Mac and with Logic. It should have low latency. I'd like to keep my budget at or below $1000, if possible, but am open to suggestions a little above.
What are your recommendations for recording from the modular? A friend of mine with a massive modular system who records professionally recommends RME. Some of the RME converters appeal to me -- but how do I get the audio from the modular into the RME? Does one just plug and play (with balanced output? how?), or use ADAT, or USB, or...? My friend has, I believe, a complex all digital signal chain and uses a Mac M1, so what works for him may not work for me.
I suppose MOTU would be an option, but I've read very iffy reviews about their current offerings, and people say there are better options.
There's also Expert Sleepers ES-8, and it seems cool, but I don't quite understand its role. It's an onboard converter, right? And to get the audio into logic you connect via USB to the ES-8? However, I've read that is has latency issues, and I don't know how I'd get external audio (like my DAFM) recorded with it.
Obviously these are beginner's questions, but I'd really appreciate your recommendations. I found this thread on ModWiggler and it's helpful, but it seems to assume a level of knowledge about brands that I don't have. And if you could comment the role of some of the different methods for connecting the modular (and the DAFM, etc) to the outside world (ADAT compared to simple cables, USB) and what works best for you, and why, that would be great!
And lastly, while I still have my 2i4, do I need an unbalanced connection coming out of the modular, and how do I achieve that?
Again, I do have experience with recording modular, but don't know the current/Eurorack options.
Thanks!

And I don't remember if the levels of them match how the Super World Map looks but I like them a lot anyway. Also, Awepic is making a new game based in 3D World new hats.
"""""NOTE: REMEMBER TO CHECK THIS REDDIT ONCE IN A WHILE SINCE I WILL KEEP MAKING POSTS IF I FIND OTHER SUPER WORLDS I LIKE WITH BOTH THESE ONES AND THE ONES I FIND LATER.""""

*** Pepe’s P.R: JN4-0R8-NWF I REALLY LOVED THIS USER VERY VERY MUCH THAT I PUT HIM AT THE TOP OF THE TOP OF THE BEST OF THE BEST SUPER WORLDS LIST BECAUSE THAT IS THE PLACE I THIN IT BELONGS TO. *** TOAD: KQW-SKB-55G THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN TO PLAY AND I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE BOSS FIGHTS. IT IS THE SUPER WORLD WITH THE MOST AMOUNT OF FUN AND CREATIVE BOSS FIGHTS I’VE PLAYED. IT WAS MADE USING ALL GAME STYLES AND IT HAD ONE WORLD DETICATED TO EACH ONE IN THIS ORDER, SMB1, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, NSMBU, SM3DW AND THE LAST TWO WORLD WERE NOT BASED OF AN SPECIFIC GAME.
*** Flain31: FT7-CM6-T0H THIS MAKER HAS MADE A TRILOGY OF GAMES CALLED “SUPER MARIO SWITCH” ALL LEVELS IN THE TRILOGY HAVE 3 "STAR COINS" THAT CAME IN THIS ORDER: ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIN AND ONE 50 COIN. *** JAPANESE MAKER: BC3-WB6-QKF THIS MAKER HAS TWO COMPLETE GAMES THAT ARE VERY WELL MADE. ONE IS A SUPER WORLD AND THE OTHER ONE ISN’T.
*** LoloLuigiTM: 9XL-V0W-QTF I PUT THIS SUPER WORLD WAS EXTREMELY WELL DONE. HE SURE DESERVES THE 30510 STARS HE HAS. TAKE NOTE THAT HE HAS SOME VERY VERY HARD LEVELS BUT WITHOUT THEM BEING TOO HARD TO STOP BEING REALLY FUN. HIS SUPER WORLD LEVELS HAVE 3 HIDDEN "STAR COINS" EACH (50 COINS). THE ONLY ONE IN WHICH I COULDN'T FIND ANY STAR COINS WAS "★-★ RAINBOW GALAXY" HE ALSO HAS SOME VERY FUN LEVELS OUTSIDE HIS SUPER WORLD THAT INCLUDE: CUSTOM MUSIC, CUSTOM MUSIC WHILE PLATFORMING, A ZELDA SERIES CONSISTING IN 4 LEVELS AND REALLY COOL AUTO LEVELS THAT HAD 2 WAYS TO BE COMPLETED (YOU NEED TO PRESS SOME BUTTONS OR NO BUTTONS AT ALL).
*** UDUC: YJ5-Y4B-50H THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE AND IT WAS VERY FUN TO PLAY ALL THE WAY THROUGH. EACH OF THE 40 LEVELS HAD HIDDEN 3 "STAR COINS" (ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIN AND ONE 50 COIN THAT YOU COULD FIND AND COLLECT IN THAT ORDER) AND I COULD COLLECT THEM WITH REAL STAR RULES: YOU PARTIALLY GET ONE BY GETTING TO THE CHECKPOINT AND TOTALLY GET ONE BY FINISHING A LEVEL.
*** LaunchStar (THIS MAKER IS ALSO Toadette 3): 256-P8H-TQFI REALLY LIKED THE LEVELS AND EACH ONE HAS HIDDEN 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS).
*** MrFlynn: 239-3NS-FMF I'VE BEEN TRYING NOT TO PUT ANY COMPLETE GAMES IN MY LIST UNLESS THEY HAVE A SUPER WORLD BUT THIS GAME WAS SO GOOD THAT I EVEN PUT IT HERE IN THE BEST OF THE BEST SUPER WORLDS LIST. IT WAS MADE COMPLETELY WITH SMB1 AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PLAY THIS GAME VIA THE UPLOADED CURSES TAB IN THEMAKER'S PROFILE.
*** KoopaSan: VTX-NKL-CJF HIS SUPER WORLD WAS EXTREMELY FUN AND IT WAS MADE USING ALL STYLES EXCEPT NSMBU.
*** ???? (Farticus): SFP-D1S-WMG / QHS-V44-C7G Farticus is a really great SSM level maker. He has two accounts: the one in which he made his super world with the user name “????” which is the first code and the main one with the name “Farticus”which is the second level code. Also if you can still play SMM1 you should search for his profile in the SMM1 bookmarks page with the name “Farticus”. The levels there are also really great.
*** Cheatsey: 9LD-7FL-FBG THIS MAKER HAS A VERY FUN GAME MADE COMPLETELY WITH SMW. IT HAD A LOT OF FEATURES WHICH I TALK ABOUT IN HERE: https://www.reddit.com/MarioMaker2/comments/mvfob5/i_recently_finished_this_amazing_super_world/?
*** GM Flex-D: BRF-K4B-D8G THIS MAKER HAS A SMALL SUPER WORLD THAT IS VERY FUN AND IS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE IN WHICH i COULD COLLECT 3 "STAR COINS" (ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIN AND ONE 50 COIN IN THAT ORDER) HE ALSO HAS LOTS OF STAND ALONE LEVELS THAT ARE VERY FUN AND IN MOST OF THEM YOU CAN FIND AS WELL 3 "STAR COINS" (ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIN AND ONE 50 COIN IN THAT ORDER)
*** Plant: D0Y-51J-GHG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN AND HAD SOME REALLY COOL BOSSES. IT WAS ALL MADE WITH SUPER MARIO BROS 3.

*** LordBows13: LHN-9T6-FVF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE COMPLETELY USING NSMBU. IT HAD HIDDEN 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL AND IT WAS SO WELL DESIGNED THAT I DECIDED TO PUT IT IN THE BEST OF THE BEST SUPER WORLDS LIST.
*** RedRipper7: 41R-STT-TPF THIS MAKER'S SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN TO PLAY AND THE LEVELS ARE SOME OF THE BEST I'VE EVER PLAYED. HE USED MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE TO MAKE IT. IT HAD HIDDEN 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL. ALSO HE HAS LOTS OF STAND ALONE LEVELS AND IN EACH ONE OF THEM THERE AE HIDDEN 3 BIG COINS ALSO.
*** Shimyz: BQJ-VLJ-5XG THIS SUPER WORLD HAD SOME PRETTY CREATIVE IDEAS AND IT WASE VERY FUN. IT HAD 40 LEVELS AND WAS COMPLETELY MADE USING NSMB U. ALSO THERE IS A WORLD 9 "OUTSIDE" THE SUPER WORLD
*** FIGOBERTO: 1JK-W4Y-GQF THIS SUPER WORLD HAS 40 LEVLES, WAS MADE COMPLETELY WITH NSMB U AND WAS EXTREMELY FUN TO PLAY. EACH LEVEL HAS 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) HIDDEN.
*** squidwardz: VSG-5M8-C0H THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE.
*** JAPANESE USER: 4PP-0N7-F5G THIS MAKER MADE A SUPER FUN SUPER WORLD SING MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE. THERE IS ALSO AN EXTRA WORLD "OUTSIDE" THE SUPER WORLD. ALSO YOU SHOULD TRY OUT ALL OF HIS LEVELS. I HAD A LOT OF FUN PLAYING ALL OF THEM.
*** Shmue: NXM-G5R-WTF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE AND IT HAD VERY FUN OUTSTANDING BOSS FIGHTS.
*** Jevarel4: Y7J-9N2-02H This is a super hard but super fun Super World I have just finished playing. It is not really called like that but I like to call it like that because of how the levels' names are a reference to the TV show's episodes' names. It has four worlds and 20 levels and if I remember correctly it uses more than one game style. The creator also has some more levels "outside" of his super world that you should really check as well.
*** JAPANESE USER: JJX-MVV-RSF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS PRETTY FUN AND WAS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE
*** jaytendo: LY0-4FN-9MF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE USING MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE AND I COULD FIND 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL.
*** siroa: N7F-X5T-6JF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN AND EACH WORLD WAS UNIQUE IN THE WAY OF EACH WORLD HAVING A GAME ITEM THEME LIKE ON/OF BLOCKS AND SWITCHES, P SWITCHES, ETC AND EACH ONE HAVING A PUZZLE LEVEL, AN ATHELTIC LEVEL, A "NORMAL" LEVEL, A BOSS LEVEL AND A BONUS LEVEL INCLUDING EACH WORLD'S THEME.
*** Ryo: 67G-CYM-TFG THIS SUPER WORLD IS SUPER FUN AND IT WAS MADE COMPLETELY WITH SM3DW AND MOST LEVELS HAD KEY COINS TO COLLECT THAT GIVE ACCES TO A BONUS ROOM WITH SOME LIFES.
*** Holland B: LMK-HHP-4VF I just finished playing a super world that was very fun, creative and very well designed. It consists of 40 levels made with more than one game style and it also has some very fun Link levels. If you want to have lots of fun you really should try them out but to be honest I tried the the stand alone levels and didn't like them as much and lso couldn't complete one of them which made me stop playing anything else from this creator.
"SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD SUPER WORLDS"
*** Marsford: QCJ-3D1-5YG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS EXTREMELY FUN TO PLAY. THE MAIN GAME CONSISTED OF 7 WORLDS AND THE LAST WORLD WAS THE CORE, A BONUS CHALLENGING WORLD. ALSO EACH LEVEL HAD 3 "STAR COINS" (3 BIG COINS THAT YOU COULD FIND FIRST THE 10 CON, SECOND THE 30 COIN AND THIRD THE 50 COIN). I CIULD COLLECT THEM WITH REAL STAR COIN RULES: YOU PARTIALLY GET ONE BY GETTING TO THE CHECK POINT AND YOU TOTALLY GET ONE BY COMPLETING A LEVEL. THE ONLY LEVLES IN WHICH I COULDN'T FIND 3 STAR COINS WERE 6-2, 8-2 AND 8-5.
*** SkellWar: X24-84L-RYG THIS IS THE FIRST SUPER WORLD I HAVE PLAYED AND COMPLETED THAT IS MADE COMPLETELY USING SM3DW. IT REALLY IS SUPER FUN TO PLAY AND THE DIFFICULTY IS HARD BUT FAIR WIT THE GAME STILL BEING VERY FUN.
*** SBBASSIST: 8BH-7YW-1TF THIS WAS A FUN SUPER WORLD THAT WAS COMPLETELY MADE USING SM3DW.
*** JAPANESE USER: CG4-XYS-53G THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE USING MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE AND IT HAD 3 STAR COINS (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL. IT HAS SUCH A GOOD LEVEL DESIGN THAT THE ISSUE THAT YOU CAN GET SOFT LOCCKED IN LEVELS 6-2 AND 6-4 (THEY STILL HAD ALL 3 STAR COINS BUT YOU COULD GET SOFT LOCKED) WASN'T ENOUGH FOR IT NOT MAKING IT TO THE BEST OF THE BEST LIST.
*** Giac_Mk2: QL3-FKB-C0H
"SUPER MARIO BROS 3 SUPER WORLDS"
*** Carrot14: 89W-T17-05G THIS SUPER WORLD IS SUPER EXTREMELY GOOD AND IT REMINDED ME TO THE SMB3 HACK CALLED “SMB3 MIX” BECAUSE EVERY LEVEL OF IT WAS EXTREMELY GOOD, MADE WITH SMB3 AND HAD 3 HIDDEN "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF “8-FORT 2” WHICH DIDN’T HAVE ANY. I COULD EVEN COLLECT THE "STAR COINS" AS IF THEY WERE REAL STAR COINS (THE CHECK POINT PARTIALLY SAVES ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS AND TO REALLY GET ANY YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL).
*** Axid: D7S-S3L-QKG ALL HIS LEVELS WERE VERY WELL DONE AND I HAD A LOT OF FUN PLAYING THEM. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
*** JAPANESE MAKER: 08L-Q6V-YWG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS PRETTY FUN.
*** Slayriah: LYG-D5B-BRF In 7-3 there is a hidden block right next to those breakable blocks that you can use to stand on. And in Bowser’s castle, you can go all the way to the right to take a pipe back to the beginning next to that donut drop if you missed anything.
*** Hero: CD4-1T7-PWG
*** Gio22: YGW-8GM-60H THIS WAS A VERY FUN SUPER WORLD WITH MORE THAN 40 LEVELS. SOME WERE IN THE SUPER WORLD AND OTHERS "OUTSIDE" THE SUPER WORLD.
*** MarcMars: 84D-1NG-1TG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE COMPLETELY USING SMB3 AND IT WAS EXTREMELY FUN AND IT EVEN HAD 44 LEVELS (WORLD 9 IS NOT IN THE SUPER WORLD AND IT CONSISTS OF 4 LEVELS)
*** Toadette 3 (THIS MAKER IS ALSO LaunchStar): H1D-QN2-K1G THIS REALLY WAS A GREAT SUPER WORLD. IT WAS ALL MADE USING SMB3 AND EACH LEVEL HAD 3 BIG COINS HIDDEN WHICH I COULD EVEN COLLECT THE "STAR COINS" AS IF THEY WERE REAL STAR COINS (THE CHECK POINT PARTIALLY SAVES ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS AND TO REALLY GET ANY YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL). THE ONLY LEVEL IN WHICH I COULDN’T FIND 3 STAR COINS” WAS 6-3.
*** GB_0 1: 2WK-P4Y-JBG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS ALL MADE WITH SMB3. THE LEVEL DESIGN WAS VERY FUN AND I LIKED ALSO THE FACT THAT WITHOUT HAVING LEVELS THAT WERE COMPLETELY A REMAKE OF THE ORIGINAL IT SOME LEVELS HAVE PARTS THAT RESSEMBLE THE ORIGINAL GAME SUCH AS A LEVEL WHERE THE FLOOR IS ALL DOUGHNUT BLOCKS OR A CAVE LEVEL WHERE YOU NEED TO FLY TO GET TOTHE EXIT. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE PLAYED.
*** MarioNose: 1VP-CQB-H3G THIS "SEQUEL" TO SMB3 WAS SUPER VERY EXTREMELY FUN AND FLAWLESS IN MY OPINION.
*** Adell: 44F-7T3-74G ALL THE LEVELS WERE PRETTY FUN AND THEY WERE MADE WITH SMB3.
"NEW SUPER MARIO BROS U SUPER WORLDS"
*** AhVignette: 02L-9CL-7KF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS EXTREMELY WELL MADE AND I COULDN'T STOP PLAYING IT UNTILL I FINISHED IT.
*** Logan: J6W-KBC-QGF THIS IS A 40 LEVELS GAME THAT IS NOT MADE INTO A SUPER WORLD BUT IS REALLY FUND TO PLAY. EACH ELVEL CONTAINS 3 "STAR COINS" (ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIND AND ONE 50 COINS THAT YOU CAN COLLECT IN THAT ORDER).
*** Kacoboon: JSQ-87Q-FMG ALL LEVELS IN THIS SUPER WORLD WERE VERY FUN TO PLAY. IT HAD SOME VERY HARD PARTS AND I EVEN THOUGHT I WASN'T GONNA BE ABLE TO FINISH THE LAST LEVEL UNTIL I DISCOVERED THIS: THE BEST YOU CAN DO IN THE SOLOW SELF SCROLLING PART THAT HAS BOWSER'S FIREBALLS COMING FROME THE GROUND IS TO STAY AS MUCH TO THE LEFT AS POSIBLE SO THAT WAY THE FIRE BALLS DON'T BREAK THE FLOOR YOU'LL NEED TO STEP ON AND FOR THE BOSS FIGHT IT MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO SPIN JUMP ON THE BOB-OMBS SO THEY GO IN THE DIRECTION OF BOWSER AND HIT HIM.
*** FocaRJ: SXK-5CN-70H THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN TO PLAY.
*** Coopinator: 61H-P3Q-RRG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS REALLY COOL. IT WAS ALL MADE WITH NSMBU AND IT HAD 3 HIDDEN "STAR COINS"” (BIG COINS) WICH I COULD COLLECT WITH REAL STAR COINS RULES (YOU PARTIALLY SAVE ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS WITH A CHECK POINT AND TO "REALLY" GET THEM YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL). IT REALY FELT LIKE A SEQUEL TO THE ORIGINAL NSMBU.
*** BlueGam3r: 38N-N8G-DXF
*** BOMBKAPOW: YQH-L83-VKG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN AND IT WAS COMPLETELY MADE WITH NSMBU AND ALL LEVELS HAD 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) TO FIND EXCEPT FOR THE ONES IN WHICH YOU HAD TO DEFEAT ALL ENEMIES TO BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE LEVEL.
*** Mazza Jay: 4QN-65H-M7G This World was super fun. The only things I found that would make it perfect is that almost every level had 3 big coins hidden except for these levels: in level 2-3 you put a 10 coin by mistake instead of a 30 coin and in Roy's Castle I couldn't find any big coins. I have continue playing your game and another level in which I couldn't fine the 3 "STAR COINS"6-5 (I could just find the one that you need to jump on a Dry Bones to get high enough and the one you need to wall jump from a cannon to get it). In 7-5 I could only find one "Star Coin" (Big Coin). Also the final fight agianst Bowser didn't have any "STAR COINS".
*** GoudaJonah: QMQ-8B3-7JG
*** Ow-Mee Mr.: N0M-JD4-93G
*** MEME AIDAN: RLK-HC2-LWG
*** DrToadette: NS0-MSF-7XF
*** MmanandBbo: CH3-0RH-8RF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS REALLY COOL. THE ONLY LEVEL IN WHICH I ONLY COULD FIND 2 INSTEAD OF 3 WAS 7-2: RAIL LIFT RIDING.
*** Diovani: 6MV-NNR-0SG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS REALLY COOL. IT WAS ALL MADE WITH NSMB U AND IT HAD 3 HIDDEN "STAR COINS"” (BIG COINS) WICH I COULD COLLECT WITH REAL STAR COINS RULES (YOU PARTIALLY SAVE ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS WITH A CHECK POINT AND TO "REALLY" GET THEM YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL). IT REALY FELT LIKE A SEQUEL TO THE ORIGINAL NSMBU. THIS MAKER ALSO HAS SOME REALLY GOOD LEVELS APART FROM THE ONES THAT ARE PART OF HIS SUPER WORLD.
*** DYSL3X1C: G7Q-5H7-19G THIS USER MADE A PRETTY FUN GAME USING NSMBU FOR ALL THE LEVELS. EACH LEVEL EXCEPT 6-4 HAD HIDDEN 3 "STAR COINS" (ONE BIG COIN OF EACH KIND THAT YOU COULD COLLECT IN IN THIS ORDER: 10 COIN, 30 COIN AND 50 COIN)
*** Man_Anim8s: JTH-FW7-78G THIS GAME WAS ALL MADE USING NSMBU AND I COULD FIND 3 STAR COINS (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL EXCEPT IN 2-3, 2-5, 3-3, 4-2, 4-3,4-4, 6-2, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-5 AND 8-4.
*** MARIO: 2H7-725-1NF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS COMPLETELY MADE WITH NSMBU AND IT WAS REALLY FUN TO PLAY (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE 2 LAST LEVELS) AND I COULD FIND 3 HIDDEN "STAR COINS"” (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL WICH I COULD COLLECT WITH REAL STAR COINS RULES (YOU PARTIALLY SAVE ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS WITH A CHECK POINT AND TO "REALLY" GET THEM YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL) EXCEPT IN “THE JUNGEL OF THE WIGGLER” AND THE LAST TWO LEVELS

___ButterJaw: CPD-CTL-WHG
___XCube285: N22-DPH-JQG I liked this world but the reason it didn't make it to the best worlds list is because the last world had no boss fight in the castle and one of the paths leading to the castle had a dark level that has some obstacles that weren't posible to see in time to avod them and I could only clear that level by dying and learning the placement of such obtacles. There was also a level from world 8 that i could clear almost out of pure luck that hast a lot of kameks in it. Bsides those thing I really liked it. Also, the music levels are a-MUSE-ing!!!
___Zealknight: QKM-RX6-KTG It didn't make it to the best worlds list because of a softblock in the first level where there is a on/offswitch on top of a on/off block next to a question mark made out off blocks.
___ Christo23: X2X-SQN-NYG This world is really cool and made completely in SMB1 style but the reason it didn't earn a place in the best worlds is that it has some softlocks and even a boss battle with a blooper and a fire piranha plant in which you can get softlock if you kill the blooper while taking a hit from the piranha because you are supposed to kill it with a spiny helmet and since the plant lands on the floor the boss becomes unbeatable.

2022.08.08 22:24 tightastic Defective Opsix from August 2022 Sale???

Hello, like many other users here I ordered a Korg Opsix during the killer sale last week. It showed up today and to my chagrin it has a defective OLED display. The backlight is so dim even at max brightness that I can't read it even in a dark. Synth seems fine other than that but it's a bit hard to tell since I can't read the screen to edit patches and such. I found a thread on mod wiggler and a few other users reported issues with their screens or other issues with Opsixes purchased during the sale.
Since many people are probably going to be looking online to troubleshoot issues with the units as they arrive, it would be nice for this thread to have a lot of information about what issues folks are experiencing and how they are able to get them resolved. So, if you ordered an Opsix in the sale last week, has it come? Is your unit defective? If so, have you been able to resolve the issue with Korg support? Or even repair the unit yourself?
Edit: Spelling/grammar

2022.07.16 02:17 PointReyes7 Qu-Bit Aurora vs. another Versio -- help me decide.

I'm considering either an Aurora or another Versio.
I already have a Versio which I love (I use Iteras, Desmodus, and the extremely awesome MultiFX firmware from Paolo on ModWiggler), and now I'm not sure if I should get another Versio since you can do so many different things with it, or an Aurora. I'll get great sound, creativity and tweakability with another Versio, but the Aurora looks creative/unique in a different way with a gorgeous sound of its own. Qu-Bit will be offering other firmwares for Aurora with different FX, and it's much easier to switch between firmwares on Aurora than the Versio due to the USB drive...but there will be only two the choose from for the time being (when FDN comes out soon).
What I want is both creative sound design and reverb together, and also the ability to use it as simply an unusual reverb (the upcoming FDN firmware is a bread-and-butter reverb, which might lose the wacked out things you can do with Aurora, but who knows what other tricks it'll have). It seems Aurora can also do a sort of delay-like thing?
Having a really hard time deciding which to go for to add to my current Versio, and can't afford both. Opinions please!

2022.05.07 00:37 atacamasand Intellijel Quad VCA vs Joranalogue Mix 3 vs AJH MiniMod Muting Mixer/VCA...?

I'm trying to decide on a basic second VCA and am curious to get feedback on the Intellijel Quad vs the Joranalogue Mix 3 vs the AJH MiniMod Muting mixer. The Intellijel Quad has gotten a lot of praise and it's at the top of my list, but I saw some threads on ModWiggler that said perhaps build quality is down a little bit in the last year or so. Anyone here found that, or is that not true? How do you like the Intellijel Quad?
Joranalogue's Morph 4 seems great, but perhaps not as a starter VCA. Their Mix 3 seems nice, though -- although it doesn't have the individual outs of the Intellijel. It does seem to have some nice distortion possibilities, as well as being a good mixer. Anyone have it? Like it?
Lastly, along with some other manufacturers, I'll have an AJH MiniMod VCO/VCF combo, and I thought perhaps that the AJH VCA might play well with that -- and of course the AJH build quality and support is great.
Of the three above, which would you recommend as a good VCA for my system? I will also have an Expert Sleepers Persephone, which I bought a while ago, so this one wouldn't be my first. Any feedback appreciated!

2022.05.05 20:07 atacamasand Looking for step-by-step ribbon cable connection instructions for Doepfer A-100 cases (illustrations, videos)

I'm a newbie to Eurorack. I have a new monster case (PMS6) and am ready to start putting in modules. I read through the instruction manual from Doepfer, but am confused by terms like 'pin header' and 'box pin header' (I think I know what a box pin header is, but is it the same as a pin header?). Also they say "When the bus cable coming from the module is connected to the boxed header in question the 'nose' has to point to the right." What nose?
So I've been looking for some illustrations and / or videos. This ModWiggler thread was recommended to me, but it's 12 years old, and I don't know if anything has changed with respect to the Doepfer connections. I'd also love to actually see the connection taking place, that is, a video of how to do it would be great.
Along those lines, I was also recommended this video series, but it's also somewhat old (it's from 2014). It features the A-100 headers, but, again, I don't know if there are any substantive changes from 2014 I should know about . I'm a complete beginner with Eurorack, so I don't want to take anything for granted. Also I don't think the series actually shows a power cable being connected to the Doepfer bus board, that is, showing it being connected in 'real time', which would be super helpful.
Are these resources up to date enough for a 2022 A-100 case? Can you recommend any illustrated guide or video(s) that show exactly what I should do (and not do), specific to the A-100 with PSU3?
Would any kind soul out there consider making a short video that illustrates exactly what I should do, what the 'nose' is, etc? I'm sure others in the future would find it helpful as well.
Thanks very much!
EDIT: Both the video series and the guide caution against trusting the 'red stripe', which is what I was going to rely on. 🤷‍♂️ The guide says:

NEVER TRUST A RIBBON CABLE! NEVER TRUST THE RED STRIPE
Ribbon cables are not always built to a standard even though they are meant to be. You must always check the cables before connecting anything.
Go and grab a ribbon cable, have a close look at the header component. You should see a small triangle marked on one side. Now in an ideal world all the cables you have should have the red band of the cable matched up to this triangle, as this is the correct way to build them- using the red band and triangles as -12v, meaning when plugged into a bus board with keyed headers (black plastic things, not just pins like on the doepfer bus boards) the power is correctly aligned.
So when a module has "red stripe" on the PCB it is assumed that it is referencing the -12v.
In my short time of euro-accumulating I have had cables built with one end having the red stripe matched to the triangle and the other end not- boom kapow hiss, instant voltage reversal, and other cables built perfectly backwards, with both triangles not aligned to the red stripe. This is kinda ok if you don't have keyed headers, but if you do have keyed headers and you have to twist the cable to plug it in- boom, kapow, hiss yr module is fried. SO again:
NEVER TRUST A RIBBON CABLE! NEVER TRUST THE RED STRIPE

2022.04.15 14:19 scuzzphut Just got my first front panels from JLCPCB. Details within.

Hi Guys,
I just received my first order of front panels from JLCPCB. They are both Aluminium panels and the complete order including slow shipping cost me about £13 ($18) for 5 of each panel.
Both panels were created in EasyEDA (which is JLCPCBs online CAD package). EasyEDA has a built-in 3D viewer, so you can double check everything before you order. Happy to share the files if anyone is interested.
The first is a front panel for the Midimuso Octex midi-cv board. If you've never heard of Midimuso, take a look - they have a really nice range of Midi to CV devices for the hobbyist. https://midimuso.co.uk/
The holes beside the jack sockets are for the output LEDs. I bought some cheap lightpipe on Ebay and I'm going to pipe each one to the front panel.
The second is for a through-hole DIY version of Mutable Ripples I'm making using Forben's design on Mod Wiggler. https://modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=136180&start=100 I haven't finished this yet, but I'll report back when I get it working.
Lessons learned :
1: I should not have selected white text on Aluminium for the Midimuso. It's legible enough , but I wouldn't do it again.
2 : Both panels have the JLCPCB job number on the front. Doesn't bother me at all, but apparently it's easy to move it to the back when designing.
Minimum order is 5, so I have some spares if anyone is interested (UK here).

Mina

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Why didn't anyone ever tell me the K'tari were such terrifying monsters! I didn't even know it was possible for anything to move so fast! I could barely get away from Joseph as he went down to their attack.
I heard the clack of K'tari claws on the street nearby. Making myself as small as I could, I gripped my gun hard as I hid in the alleyway, behind a dumpster. They were hunting me.
I suddenly heard a clacking bang to the side and above me, on the dumpster.
"Found you!"
I let out a small scream as I turned and raised my gun. I jumped to the side for some evasion, nut still, I felt the telltale pain in my chest as the K'tari weapon struck me.
A horn sounded, and I pulled off the VR helmet to look over at Joseph, who was grinning at one of the K'tari. "That was so cool! You have to show me how you did that kick dash thing!"
I stretched my body, and considered turning down the haptic feedback a little. I knew Joseph kept his at the maximum, but that was a little too painful for me. Zirak shouldn't had built haptic suits for us, but apparently, blunt impacts don't seem to bother them at all.
Except from Joseph, apparently. They all seem shocked and amazed by the sheer amount of force he can put out with his punches. According to Xhikaat, Joseph is equally matched with their best trained fights, and she genuinely has no idea if a K'tari could beat him in a fight.
After seeing them leaping and moving so fast, I think the odds are against Joseph.
The last week aboard the Kurtul had been interesting. I had thought janitorial work would be unpleasant, but after seeing that our skin readily absorbed fluids in contact with it, Khaarn had made a protective suit for me, similar to a K'tari hazard suit. He even designed a set of safety goggles. And with my input, he was even willing to make it a normal outfit, and not an ugly silver jumpsuit!
Even the strong cleaning solution we used wasn't as bad as the ammonia or bleach we sometimes used on the station. I thought he was just being a macho guy, but Joseph had been right when he said that watered down, it was a great body wash. That definitely meant I could use less of my nice stuff, and make it last longer.
I noticed he used it as shampoo, too. After some experimentation, I learned I could mix my weekly shampoo half and half with it, and get great results. So that helps stretch out my shampoo supply. I know Joseph had me buy a few years' worth of anything I needed, but it does seem like a lot of supplies.
Zirak happily made haptic suits for us, so we could train with each other in a combat environment without risk of seriously injuring each other. I knew Joseph had been a soldier, but these K'tari were so fast, and the way they moved as a group was terrifying. They seemed to instinctually move as a unified pack, and no matter how many times he lost, Joseph kept coming back to try again.
It was pretty cool, seeing him run and jump. He had even learned to copy some of their techniques with limited success. He couldn't jump as far, but he was getting really fast at navigating obstacles, bouncing and showing off.
The only problem with VR sessions was that he ran them ragged, often playing with three or four groups in a row before I noticed him slowing down. It got him a lot of respect among the K'tari.
I wasn't as fast, but I was smaller, and I could squeeze into little nooks and crannies for ambushes. With him running as a distraction, I was usually able to pick some off, and we even occasionally won a game! If my aim was better, we might win more.
After supper, we were standing around when he performed what had become his tradition, mumbling his silly game. I still giggled as he walked past me and crouched down to grab Xhikaat.
To my shock, that strong arm went around my waist. He stood with me slung over his shoulder, my ass to the sky.
His voice deepened as he said, "I claim this one!"
I started to say something, but nothing came out. He carried me to his room, and I looked around. A suit of armor and a few weapons on the wall. He had a few metal crates strapped down, and a large viewscreen on a wall across from the bed. He also had a dataslab filled with probably movies and old games hooked up to it.
He set me down, and I realized he had brought me to his room. Finally!

Joseph

As soon as I set Mina down, she reached out and took my hand. Pulling me over to a chair, she gently pushed, and I did what she wanted, and sat. She leaned down and kissed my cheek, and spoke quietly.
"It's about time! I think you deserve a reward for being so bold."
I blinked. "What?"
"Uhh, Mina? I just wanted to talk-"
She put a finger to my lips and said, "Say what you need to after the show."
Show?
She kicked her shoes off to the side, and unfastened the clasp at the base of her uniform top. She swung her hips around as she gyrated. Her dance was alluring. She raised her top up to reveal a lacey black bra as she danced around.
As her top was being pulled over her head, she stepped on one of her shoes. I saw it happening, but I couldn't move in time to help. It happened in the blink of an eye. Her ankle rolled, and then her body followed. Her upper body pivoted to catch herself on the floor, but her arms were caught in her uniform top.
She hit the floor with a wet crunching sound I'd heard before, which was followed by a whimper, and crying. I moved faster than I knew I could, and my fears were confirmed when rolled her in her back and pulled her top down. It was broken. I grabbed a workout towel, and gently cradled her bleeding nose with it.
"Easy now, Mina. You're going to be alright."
"Did I break it?"
"Yeah, we'll have to go see the doc."
She was in tears as we walked to the medical bay. Doc Kissil saw Mina, and heard her crying, and to his credit, he was deeply attentive. He put her to sleep, and while she was out, and he was working, he asked, "How did this happen?"
"Ah, you see, she stepped on something, and her ankle rolled."
"Is her foot injured?"
"I don't think so. She wasn't limping. But her hands were caught on her uniform, and she couldn't lower her arms to stop her fall."
"I see. Well, after having read the documentation on how your people repair this problem, this surgery will be much easier. In fact, your people seem a little too experienced with such injuries."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Doc, a broken nose is a very common injury. I guess we are a little clumsy sometimes, though."
"Well, you don't have a proper balancing appendage. I can't expect you to be as agile as a K'tari. Crewman Mina seemed in great distress from her injury."
"Yeah. She doesn't have a high pain tolerance, but I think it was more emotional pain than physical."
"Emotional? How?"
"She and I have been friends since we were kids. We met when I was twelve, and we always liked to spend time together. Pack bonding, you know? Well, we were going to my place to talk, and maybe watch a movie. And then she fell, and an injury ruins the mood a lot. She must be frustrated."
"Ahh, that does explain quite a bit."
"Yeah. But if you'll recall, My eyes were running, when I broke my nose, too. I dunno why, but any injury near the eyes causes them to water heavily."
"Interesting. If you will wait there, I can finish this quickly. She suffered a very minor break, so I can treat this easily."
True to his word, Doc Kissil managed to finish within twenty minutes. To my mild amusement, he fitted her with a brace like I had needed, but more compact. Seems Doc Kissil had refined the design to go on the forehead and cheeks with scale adhesive, rather than wrap around the head. Good on him. She woke up soon after, and looked up at me groggily.
"Is it over?"
I gently took her hand. "Yeah. You're alright now, but you have to wear a brace on your nose for a while."
"Joseph, I'm sorry. I ruined everything."
Damn it. She was trying her best, and here I felt like such an asshole. To hell with it. I'd never been ready for anything life threw at me. Why start now?
Without a word, I bent down, and placed a brief kiss on her lips. When I pulled back, her tired eyes were wide open. "You kissed me."
I smiled. "Look, Mina. If you want, maybe we could finish our evening?"
She smiled and said, "Yeah. I'd like that."
She started to sit up, but she was apparently dizzy from it, because I got a hard backhand to my cheek. Doc Kissil, the agile little bastard that he was, ducked. I put an arm around Mina. "Easy, now. Take it slow. I'm not going anywhere."
She leaned against me, and I helped her back to my quarters. Once inside, I sat down with her. "Are you fully awake now?"
"Yeah. Sorry about this. I really ruined the moment."
I sighed. "No, no. I should be apologizing. I shouldn't have put on that show and brought you back here like that. I want to talk to you... About us. I would like to try some dates. Would you go out with me sometime?"
"YES!"
Owww... I didn't know her voice could even hit a note that high.
"Okay. How about a movie?"
She opened her mouth to speak, then paused. "Joseph, this isn't just cause you feel sorry for me, is it?"
Ugh. She's gonna make me say it.
"I'm not good at this. I, uhh... It wasn't pity that made me decide to ask you out."
"Then why now? After I ruined the evening."
Wow. She was really upset about that.
"Jeeze, okay. It was... Look, I've never really been ready for anything in my life. Lots of stuff I had no control over happened that has changed the course of my life. I thought, maybe, this time, I could wait until I felt confident I was ready. But what you did... What you tried to do. And you were so broken up over ruining the moment. So I want to. You're a wonderful girl, and I want to take you out on a date. I've seen how you feel, so I don't want to string you along."
She had her arms around me in a heartbeat. I whispered into her ear, "Of course, it's another two weeks before I get this off, and you'll probably need that long to lose your nose brace. So we won't be doing anything... Intense."
Mina giggled, and I saw her turn red.
I placed a kiss on her cheek and asked, "Now, then. How about a movie and cuddling?"

Mina

The Killer Shrews. It was such a bad monster movie. I didn't care. The man I love had his good arm around me, and the comforter was soft and warm.
After the movie, we curled up in his bed in pajamas, and I soon felt his breathing change. I laid awake, and heard him mumbling. I couldn't make out much, but he seemed to get more and more distressed. His body tensed up, and his arm went around my chest. Without warning, the breath was squeezed out of me as I felt his fingers digging into my ribs.
"No!"
He jerked, and I felt myself bounced on the bed. He was panting. A moment of silence passed. "Mina?"
"Yeah?"
"You're okay, right? You're here?"
I rolled over to face him and pushed him onto his back. "I'm here. It was just a dream."
I laid my head on his shoulder, and put my arm over his chest. "Do you have a lot of nightmares?"
He was quiet for a moment, then said, "I think everyone has nightmares. It's okay. I just can't keep anything sharp or dangerous by the bed."
What. "Joseph... How bad are these nightmares? Wait, no. What were you dreaming about?"
"Uhh, the time we were hit by derelict mining equipment when some abandoned charges detonated near the primit belt, and Corporal Fitz got sucked into space."
Oh god. "Your time in the military was pretty bad, then?"
He reached over and stroked my cheek. "No, it was pretty good, compared to some of the military work. The valor was never really a sturdy ship, but the crew treated me well. But we were tasked with investigating in system problems. And sometimes, accidents happened."
I couldn't help but smile, glad that he wasn't hurt too badly by his time aboard that ship. Still, curiosity drove me to ask. "What was the worst thing that ever happened to you on that ship?"
He gave me a squeeze and kisses my forehead. "The worst thing? We were attacked by a Threll leech ship. My lousy laser pistol was worthless against the scabers. The guys had projectile weapons, but I only had a gun made of cobbled together industrial parts.
The scabers overran me. They almost killed me, but someone saved me and dragged me away to give me treatment. It was bad. I had to have my leg replaced from the hip down. Heh. I'm probably the most experienced with those things among all humans. I had one in my hand, and it had such a thin, resistant shell, but it relented a little when I squeezed, like it was under pressure inside. I kicked one as they swarmed me, and it hit the far wall and popped."
"Are you okay?"
He laughed a little bit. "Yeah. I came back with a vengeance. When they attacked the Kurtul, I defended the ship with a sword, and wiped them out. It's a shame my homemade armor didn't protect against plasma weapons as well as it protected against scaber bites."
I snuggled a little closer against him. "Sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
He made a tired hum and said, "I don't mind, but we should get some sleep."
We lapsed into comfortable silence, and he said, "Mina?"
"Yeah?"
"I shoulda brought you in here sooner. This is nice."
"Yeah, it is."
He was asleep again. I heard his breathing change. How do you answer questions and talk like a normal person, and then just immediately fall asleep like that?

Vari

My duty companion, Crewman Mina, arrived for her shift wearing an odd device on her face.
"Mina, what is that?"
She touched the item. "Oh. I tripped and had a fall last night. Doc Kissil put a brace on my nose to help it heal back into place."
"You injured your nose? How serious is it?"
She caught me up in one of her "hugs" and said, "It's nothing dangerous. The cartilage in my nose was broken, so this brace is to prevent any deformities from occurring. We call it a broken nose, but apparently that's a much more serious injury for you."
"You have cartilage in your nose?"
She said, "Yeah. I also need to refrain from any heavy lifting or bending over for a couple weeks. I don't want to burst any blood vessels. I already bled enough when I got it."
I couldn't help but say, "Joseph broke his nose the same way. Humans have very poor balance, it seems."
"Doc Kissil says it's because we lack proper tails. Maybe I should get a prosthetic one."
She laughed, but it didn't sound like a bad idea. Something to help prevent them from having accidents might be worth discussing with engineering.

Xhikaat

As I saw Joseph entering the mess hall with Mina, I noticed that she wore a brace on her snout. I gently pulled them aside and quietly said, "Joseph, Mina, as your warlord, I must convey this. If you cannot conduct your mating practices without injury, I will be forced to forbid you from engaging in them."
Mina turned a bright shade of red, and Joseph stepped between us.
"Ah, sorry about that. Mina was getting a little uppity, and as the ship's alpha male, I had to assert my dominance."
Mina sputtered for a moment and shoved him, though given their size difference, it barely moved him. "Don't tell her stuff like that! She's going to think we're all savages!"
He gave Mina a look I hadn't seen from him before. "But you said I was a beast last night."
Mina's face grew even redder. "Shut up! You're giving her the wrong idea! Warlord Xhikaat, I tripped and fell last night. That's how I broke my nose."
Oh. "So it had nothing to do with you going to Joseph's quarters?"
Joseph took a breath and opened his mouth, but Mina shoved a hand over it and said, "No! I tripped over my shoe."
Joseph just nodded, and Mina pulled back her hand. His teeth were on full display as he leaned over to Mina and said, "This is fun. We should have movie night more often."
His arm went around her waist, and he pulled her against him. "Sorry, Xhikaat. I couldn't help teasing her a little bit. She really did just have a little fall. Come to think of it, I will probably need to brief you on what to expect, when and if we do engage in our, heh, mating rituals."
Mina giggled a bit and said, "At least be professional for that."
Joseph's grin widened. "I'm always professional when it counts."
Odd. I spoke up. "Joseph, you've been acting a little differently since Crewman Mina came aboard."
Joseph nodded. "I'm sorry. I'll try to tone it down, but this is normal human play. We tease each other as a form of bonding. I've been careful not to offend any K'tari, but with other humans, especially ones I know well, you're going to see social interactions you haven't seen between humans and K'tari. I know Mina's a hugger, and I hear her hugs are popular now. Something about her body heat being a pleasant sensation."
Mina giggled again, and said, "I ask first, now. Most K'tari really like my hugs."
I was relieved that this was only an accident. "A proposal has been brought suggesting prosthetic tails for both of you to aid in your substandard balance."
Mina turned red again. "I... I don't need a tail."
Joseph was staring at Mina. "Now, now. I think we should consider it. You would look quite fetching with a tail. Or two or three."
Mina turned to him and said, "I am not grafting a tail to my butt!"
Joseph said, "Hold on, this could be pretty cool. Warlord Xhikaat, would these tails be load bearing? Prehensile? Could mine holding weight?"
Mina buried her face in her hands. "Oh my god, you just want a monkey tail!"
Joseph said, "A government subsidized monkey tail! Just imagine it! You could use it as a stool when you want to sit down."
"I don't want a monkey tail!"
"Not for you. I think you'd look better with a big, fluffy squirrel tail."
Mina groaned. "You've got a thing for modded girls, don't you?"
Joseph was quiet for a few seconds as a large grin spread across his face. "Well, I did have a poster of Cybernella back on the valor."
Mina said, "Ugh. I'm not chopping off my limbs, and I'm definitely not getting skin wigglers! Those things creep me out!"
I was mostly lost. "Joseph, what is a skin wiggler?"
Mina said, "You can have this conversation without me." She left to get a tray of food.
Joseph leaned closer and quietly pinched my scales. "It wouldn't do anything for you. Your scales obscure your bare skin. But humans have stretchy, flexible skin. Some of us get subdermal implants that are essentially worms or snakes that can twist and writhe visibly under the surface of the skin. You might be amazed how many strange body modifications humans have available."
The idea of simulating terrible skin parasites with cybernetics made me visibly recoil. "I don't think I would want that, either."
Joseph chuckled. "Some humans like that kind of thing. I actually lean towards an interest in biomods, myself, but cybernetics are cheaper for major modifications. Unless you're a member of the Ascendancy Coalition. They have the most extreme biomods of all humanity. They're pretty creepy, even by my standards."
"What do you consider extreme?"
Joseph stroked his chin. "Removing your higher brain, then having gills added to replace your lungs, and your arms and legs amputated in favor of some kind of anchor point, then modifying your body to suck in fish and seawater, and digest the fish whole, so you can live the rest of your life in a single spot in the ocean. Or removing your tongue, nose, eyes, and ears, and replacing them with hundreds of ten meter hairlike strands that taste and hear and see all around you as they float in the air currents. There's exotic, which is an extra pair of arms, extra breasts, eyes, unnatural pigmentations, fur, scales, whatever. Then there's mutating yourself into a thing that can't be identified as ever having been human before."
I was shocked once again. "And... This... This madness. It is common?"
"No. The Ascendancy Coalition keeps to itself for the most part. They are the fringe on the fringe of the fringe of society. And they isolate themselves intentionally."
"Oh. That's good, then. I suppose we should eat."
He nodded, and went for a tray of kiklat. The more I learn about their society, the more shocked at how divergent their entire species is. Wait! The tails!
I shook my head. I'd have to bring it up later.

2022.03.08 21:40 Maxtafarian Select Bus documentation?

I'm trying to figure out how to send Midi data over the Select Bus protocol. The only documentation I've found so far is the Doepfer document but it doesn't seem to address dealing with MIDI data.
I'm trying to come up with a way of sending preset select messages to multiple Disting Mk4 modules on separate MIDI channels without the need for dedicated MIDI breakout boxes for each one.
I've also searched ModWiggler but can't seem to find anything other thane the Doepfer spec.

2022.02.24 01:29 phobos876 With the possibility of a new Doom 6 being made, i feel like looking back at some fanmade demon designs/ideas/speculations for a modern Doom game (Kinda long)

It's always fun seeing speculations about a game that involve gameplay ideas because it feels like a way to see that there's more to be done with a game formula.
Even if it's not something "literal" like a spiritual successor, clone, mod or fangame, it still shows some attempts at exploration.
Some of the examples below are projects done just for fun, though some do look good enough to feel like they could be official.

Just because, i feel like mentioning some ideas i had (Even if they may not be that unique, good or even presented in better ways since i'm barely developing an actual skill/talent but oh well)
I feel like there's stuff i could have mentioned (Or maybe some corrections to be done above).
I also would have left links but i fear this post is automatically marked as spam.
At least there's a Doomworld thread with a similar topic, that actually has links.

level design with very creative themes for the levels and worlds that included elements creatively designed with blocks or other game elemnts like scarecraws and pumkins in the ghost world or hipos in the jungle and circus tents in the circus world and it also has really creative boss fights that doesn't have real bosses. this super world has for sure earned the spot of the best of the best in my opinion and thats why i put it at the top of the list. also, don't forget to try out world 9 which couldn't be included in the super world because it has 40 levels. *** cubesmm2: sb6-8td-mff this super world was very fun and it was made using more than one game style. *** shellphish: 2cw-jhd-y0h this super world was very fun to play and it was made using more than one game style. **rico89: in this order, smb1, smb2, smb3, smw, nsmbu, sm3dw and the last two world were not based of an specific game. *** flain31: this maker has made a trilogy of games called “super mario switch” all levels in the trilogy have 3 "star coins" that came in this order: one 10 coin, one 30 coin and one 50 coin. you can check the post i made for this trilogy in here: super world and the other one isn’t. *** lololuigitm: 9xl-v0w-qtf i put this super world at the top of the list next to cyndaquill5 because it was extremely well done. he sure deserves the 30510 stars he has. take note that he has some very very hard levels but without them being too hard to stop being really fun. his super world levels have 3 hidden "star coins" each (50 coins). the only one in which i couldn't find any star coins was "★-★ rainbow galaxy" he also has some very fun levels outside his super world that include: custom music, custom music while platforming, a zelda series consisting in 4 levels and really cool auto levels that had 2 ways to be completed (you need to press some buttons or no buttons at all). *** uduc: yj5-y4b-50h this super world was made with more than *** thi is a japanese user so i couldn't write his name: b7f-k22-x0h this super world completely made wit smb1 and it was very fun to play. it felt as a sequel of the original game. it has 32 levels like the original and some tiny parts in some levels that you could recognize from the original game. it even has bowser on a bridge as the final boss in each castle and in each level there were hidden 3 "star coins" (big coins that i could collect with real star coins rules. you parcially get a coin by getting to the check point and you completely get a coin by finishing the level). *** big speed: fyk-379-vsg the only problem i could find is that in a key coin collecting level there is no way to get back to a blue pipe you need to enter if you go further than the group of pipes that has this one but besides that i really enjoy all the levels in this super world that was made compeltely with smb1. *** williamk37: 1l1-kmm-4bg this superworld was completely made with smb1. *** mayrobros2: 8n4-t08-tgg this is a very fun remake of smb 2. *** tjs: 8vh-y80-lqf this superworld was really really cool and it was all made with smb1. *** cburke: mqm-mmr-p7g this super world was very fun to play and it was all made with smb1. it was a unique one because it has in almost every level hidden opional key/pink/red coins that take you to a bonus area and because every level at the end had a creative boss fight. 2022.02.15 05:24 joelcanciones This is the update to my super world list

Hi: I've been making a Super World list and each time I find something I like I updated in the original post found in here: reddit.com/MarioMaker2/comments/giecff/i_wnat_to_share_with_you_the_super_worlds_i/ This is a copy/paste of what I have so far:
THANKS A LOT TO ANYONE WHO HAS GIVEN MY POST AN AWARD!!!
TOTAL SUPER WORLD COUNT: 193
LAST UPDATED IN: 02/14/2022 (ADDED Jevarel4, A JAPANESE USER, BritGuy54, Lionaris)
MY SUPER MARIO MAKER 2 MAKER CODE IS: VCK-G9K-37G
NOTE: SINCE MY POST HAS RECIEVE MANY ANSWERS I WILL EDIT THIS WHEN I HAVE A NEW SUPERWORLD I LIKE AS OPPOSED OF DOING A NE POST AS I PLANNED TO SO BE SURE TO SAVE THIS POST IF YOU WANT SO YOU CAN CHECK IT ONCE IN A WHILE.
Hi: the following list contains my favorite Super World I've played so far. I iked them all but the ones that have "***" (without the quotation marks) are the ones I liked the most and the ones with "___" (without the quotation marks) are the ones I liked less than the others.
"THESE SUPER WORLDS ARENT IN ANY LIST OF THE ONES BELOW BEACUASE THESE ARE THE ONES I CONSIDER TO BE THE BET AMONG THE BEST"
"BEST OF THE BEST SUPER WORLDS"
*** Pepe’s P.R: JN4-0R8-NWF I REALLY LOVED THIS USER VERY VERY MUCH THAT I PUT HIM AT THE TOP OF THE TOP OF THE BEST OF THE BEST SUPER WORLDS LIST BECAUSE THAT IS THE PLACE I THIN IT BELONGS TO. HIS SUPER WORLD IS EXTREMELY FUN AND IT HASE 40 LEVELS. ALSO HE HAS A CRAZY AMOUNT OF EXCELLENT LEVELS THAT AREN’T PART OF HIS SUPER WORLD. IT TOOK ME NEARLY A DAY JUST TO COMPLETE THE LEVELS THAT AREN’T PART OF HIS SUPER WORLD. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY PLAY ALL OF HIS LEVELS.
*** Cyndaquil5: J6H-MSJ-BGF THE SUPER WRLD OF THIS MAKER IS REALLY GOOD AND REALLY SPECIAL BECAUSE OF THESE THINGS: PRETTY FUN LEVEL DESIGN WITH VERY CREATIVE THEMES FOR THE LEVELS AND WORLDS THAT INCLUDED ELEMENTS CREATIVELY DESIGNED WITH BLOCKS OR OTHER GAME ELEMNTS LIKE SCARECRAWS AND PUMKINS IN THE GHOST WORLD OR HIPOS IN THE JUNGLE AND CIRCUS TENTS IN THE CIRCUS WORLD AND IT ALSO HAS REALLY CREATIVE BOSS FIGHTS THAT DOESN'T HAVE REAL BOSSES.
***Rico89: DST-WDJ-CHF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN TO PLAY AND IT HAD HIDDEN IN EACH LEVEL 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS). IT WAS COMPLETELY MADE USING SMB1 AND IT EVEN HAD AN EXTRA WORLD WITH 10 LEVELS THAT YOU CAN PLAY IN THE USER'S UPLOADED COURSES OUTSIDE THE SUPER WORLD.
*** Logan: J6W-KBC-QGF THIS IS A 40 LEVELS SUPER WORLD MADE COMPLETELY WIT SM3DW. IS REALLY FUN TO PLAY. EACH ELVEL CONTAINS 3 "STAR COINS" (ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIND AND ONE 50 COINS THAT YOU CAN COLLECT IN THAT ORDER).
*** Subrise: C3F-GS4-32G THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN AND IT WAS MADE COMPLETELY USING NSMBU. IT HAD 3 "STAR COINS" HIDDEN IN EACH LEVEL (3 PINK/RED/KEY COINS PLUS ONE WHERE THE BONUS LOCKED DOOR IS SO YOU DON'T LOSE THE KEY IF YOU DIE)
*** WhatAStory: JR2-BRX-LPF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS EXTREMELY WELL MADE. IT WAS COMPLETELY MADE WITH SMB1. IN EACH WORLD THERE WAS AN OPTIONAL CHALLENGE LEVEL THAT TAKES YOU TO A BONUS MUSHROOM HOUSE AND WORLD 8 WAS A BONUS WORLD WITH FUN CHALLENGING LEVELS.
*** aserobang: PN8-W1Y-C2H THIS SUPER WORLD WAS EXTREMELY WELL MADE AND VERY FUN ALL THE WAY. IT WAS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE.
*** Mathefat12: 29Q-LHH-STG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY GOOD TO PLAY AND IT ALSO HAD HIDDEN 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL. I SUPER ENJOYED EVERY PART OF IT.
*** solarhorse: VY4-KLS-C2H THIS IS A VERY WELL MADE SUPER WORLD. IT HAS VERY WELL MADE LEVELS AND THE WORLD THEMES ARE NOT THE TYPICAL ONES AND INSTEAD THEY HAVE VERY CREATIVE AND UNUSUAL THEMES.
*** Maker Hank: 048-600-GWG THIS IS A VERY WELL MADE SUPER WORLD. IT HAS VERY WELL MADE LEVELS AND THE WORLD THEMES ARE NOT THE TYPICAL ONES AND INSTEAD THEY HAVE VERY CREATIVE AND UNUSUAL THEMES. THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MADE COMPLETELY WITH SMW.
*** Flain31: THIS MAKER HAS MADE A TRILOGY OF GAMES CALLED “SUPER MARIO SWITCH” ALL LEVELS IN THE TRILOGY HAVE 3 "STAR COINS" THAT CAME IN THIS ORDER: ONE 10 COIN, ONE 30 COIN AND ONE 50 COIN. YOU CAN CHECK THE POST I MADE FOR THIS TRILOGY IN HERE: https://www.reddit.com/MarioMaker2/comments/kz7jg3/super_mario_switch_an_amazing_trilogy_ft7cm6t0h/
*** JAPANESE MAKER: BC3-WB6-QKF THIS MAKER HAS TWO COMPLETE GAMES THAT ARE VERY WELL MADE. ONE IS A SUPER WORLD AND THE OTHER ONE ISN’T.
*** zlinklario: NQL-RCL-3YF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY CREATIVE AND IT WAS MADE WITH MORE THAN ONE GAME STYLE. SEE MY COMPLETE POST ABOUT IT HERE: https://www.reddit.com/MarioMaker2/comments/mye347/you_should_play_this_amazing_super_world/?
ALSO EACH ELVEL HAD 3 "STAR COINS" (3 BIG COINS THAT YOU COULD FIND FIRST THE 10 CON, SECOND THE 30 COIN AND THIRD THE 50 COIN).
*** MARIO U!: KVG-7C7-VRG WAS ALL MADE WITH NSMB U AND IT HAD 3 HIDDEN "STAR COINS"” (BIG COINS) IN EACH LEVEL WICH I COULD COLLECT WITH REAL STAR COINS RULES (YOU PARTIALLY SAVE ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS WITH A CHECK POINT AND TO "REALLY" GET THEM YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL). IT REALY FELT LIKE A SEQUEL TO THE ORIGINAL NSMBU. I REAALY LIKE THIS SUPER WORLD BUT SINCERELY NOT AS MUCH AS DIOVANI’S ONE.
*** DirtyRebel: QKR-CTQ-NPF THIS USER MADE A SUPER WORLD USING NSMBU FOR ALL OF THE LEVELS AND I COULD FIND 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) IN ALL LEVELS EXCEPT 2-5, 6-4, 8-5.
*** TheLBcats: JLK-TLH-6DG THIS SUPER WORLD FELT LIKE A SEQUEL TO NSMBU AND IT EVEN HAD 3 "STAR COINS" (BIG COINS) TO COLLECT IN EACH LEVEL AND EVERY LEVEL WAS PRETTY FUN TO PLAY. I COULD COLLECT ALL STAR COINS WITH REAL STAR COINS RULES (YOU PARTIALLY SAVE ANY COLLECTED STAR COINS WITH A CHECK POINT AND TO "REALLY" GET THEM YOU NEED TO FINISH THE LEVEL) I COULDN'T COMPLETE ALL OF HIS LEVELS THAT WEREN'T PART OF HIS SUPER WORLD.
*** SuperLaw: 8BR-C1K-KDF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS PRETTY FUN AND IT WAS MADES COMPLETELY USING NSMBU.
*** Boomerang: 7YM-4F2-C8G THIS SUPER WORLD WAS REALLY FUN TO PLAY AND IT WAS COMPLETELY MADE USING NSMBU. IT ALSO HAD IN SOME LEVELS HIDDEN KEY/PINK/RED COINS THAT GIVE YOU ACCESS TO A BONUS AREA.
*** TeroSMM2: 5JR-MVW-QVG THIS SUPER WORLD WAS MAE COMPLETELY WITH NSMBU.
*** JustLL: L50-SQ5-WLF THIS WAS A VERY FUN SUPER WORLD AND IT WAS COMPLETELY MADE WITH NSMBU.
***Iggy2602: 2TQ-2YC-FWG THIS SUPER WORLD IS REALLY FUN AND IT IS MADE COMPLETELY WITH NSMBU.
*** Alex013: 2WM-LLC-P0G THIS SUPER WORLD WAS VERY FUN ALL THE WAY AND ALL LEVELS WERE MADE WITH NSMBU.
*** Bup: M3F-R6M-QVF THIS SUPER WORLD WAS COMPLETELY MADE WITH NSMBU.

___ Saauna: 04G-FQQ-LHF It was fun to play but levels were either easy or very easy.
___Cheles: YG3-LK7-QNF
___Classic SMB: 8VK-DK7-TCG The reason this world didn't make it to the list was because the majority of the levels were easy and the final castle had a simple Bowser on bridge fight.
___Gabe01: 2WK-P4Y-JBG The levels of this maker were very well made but I didn't put him in the best of the best list because they were a little bit too easy to complete.

2022.02.04 06:32 willncsu34 Racking Strega or 0-Ctrl?

Anyone tried this? I’ve racked up my M32 before but I have a strega and 0-CTRL now and from everything I’ve read it’s not as straightforward. Any gotchas I need to look out for? Saw on mod wiggler there may be issues with grounding and the touch plates but there was nothing concrete. I know I definitely need a ribbon to barrel converter but wondering if there are any other things to look out for.

2022.02.01 23:33 phobos876 Idea for a centipede/caterpillar-like enemy in Doom

This idea has like 3 references/influences:
But basically, a tall/long demon that acts like a worm-like entity, that may consist of seperate parts representing the legs.
Design
Each "part" is a sphere where one half is brain-like and the other half is metallic, with 2 cybernetic legs.
The "knee" of each leg also has some turret/sentry-like cannons.
Depending on how it's modelled, these "spheres" could be seperate but still act very close to each other, while following the same path as an organized line of entities pretending to be a caterpiller.
Gameplay
The main ability is to draw some trails of floor hazards while it travels (Whether it's electrifying energy or acid pools depends), like that laser beam thing from the Khan Maykr's boss fight.
It could also shoot projectiles from the legs as it moves around, even if they are simple plasma orbs.
As it moves, it attaches itself to floors, ceilings and walls.
IF demon corpses are a thing, it could "consume" a demon corpse and create another part, as if it's growing (Like the Nokia game Snake).
If the player shoots and "kills" one of the entities, the others would close the gap left by the missing entity, as if they still had to work together and the worm "fixes itself".
Maybe it could also use portals to go to different places (To simulate a worm digging through floors/walls/ceilings, kinda).
The number of entities themselves could be like 6 or 7, depending on their size and health values.
What about the head?
Not sure if it could be the one weak point to entirely kill the giant demon or just weaken it (Or if it's even seperate from the main body, as a thing the player must find).
Maybe it could be shielded until it's exposed from specific reasons and a side effect of killing the head is the leg parts suddenly being truly seperate and without direction.
Or maybe it could be the source from some attacks and killing the other parts kills the head?
Lore?
I dunno, something to do with the Spider Mastermind.
Still, it's a case of an enemy or boss somewhat tied to level design, like the "Jumpable enemy" thing i once wrote or that one Ogre demon concept by FooSarr, where you could stand on top of it.
Anyway, speaking of other ideas:
Ghost enemies in Doom.
I always thought if it could be neat to have a "truly" ghost enemy, that either it or a projectile could go through walls.
One funny idea is make it vulnerable to splash damage, as a reference to the classic Doom "ghost" bug that some wads took advantage of.
Psychic attack.
Decino's latest video reminded me of the Beta Lost Soul having a "psychic" attack where it literally fries the player's brain.
I thought that could make more sense in Doom 3 or anything with a horror direction, specially if you make it related to the player's sight, like the typical Slenderman inspired horror indie games.
Third weapon mods.
The craziest idea that a Doom 6 could have is 3 weapon mods, because it would be troublesome for both gameplay balance and control schemes.
The excuse would be just giving the player more attacks.

2022.01.30 18:46 Economy_Double_1663 So I've been having trouble looking for a synth pedal for a few months and was wondering if you guys could recommend me some that aren't just one trick ponies? The most I'll spend is a little over 300.

Some pedals I already use and have are drive pedals, whammy,Randy's revenge(ring mod/trem),flanger hoax, mxr envelope,wiggler(vibe/trem), and rubber neck and reverb.

2022.01.11 19:56 speedlimits65 I have 3 Mother 32s and want to build a custom case, but I have questions about power and audio out.

tl;dr, I want to make my 3 Mother 32s more portable.
I've tried researching this stuff on ModularGrid and Muff/ModWiggler, but I can't find anything about this type of set-up, and whenever I ask its either crickets or I'm given recommendations of other modules I should get instead, and I'd prefer to not go down the eurorack rabbithole at this time.
I've had 3 Mother 32s for quite some time now and have used the moog 3-tier rack to house them. It's a beautiful rack, but my main issue is that it takes 3 plugs, which makes it not the easiest to move around or transport. It also takes up a lot of horizontal space on my desk. I've seen pictures of people who have a custom built DIY rack for the three moog euroracks in one compact rectangle (9U 60-ishHP), and I'd like to make one myself.
My main question is in regard to power. I'm very new to eurorack, but it looks like the PSUs have several power connectors in a horizontal row. Would I need 3 different power modules for each row, or can I still use one? Is one enough to power all 3 modules? If I need 3, does that mean I need 3 power plugs, defeating the purpose of this project?
Also, how does audio out work? Would it be from the VCA out of each module, or would I still use the 1/4" out? if it's the VCA, would I need a mixer so I can have all 3 play out of a speaker and/or into a focusrite?
For further context, my current setup right now is the 3 mothers >> behringer mx400 mixer >> lexicon mx200 >> focusrite 2i2 >> FL Studio. I wouldnt mind having some sort of utility eurorack modules if needed, such as midi, clock, mixer, or even a splitter. As much as I want to utilize this set-up in actual songs, I mostly use it to make ambient stuff to meditate and/or show-off. I just want to make my set-up more portable and all-in-one.
