Features

Balance

• Added unique hit reacts to dining hall bosses and replaced their knockdowns from shotgun with smaller staggers
• Player no longer takes survival stat damage while strung up on effigies
• Gold Armor now absorbs 70% demonic damage instead of 90%
• Increased burn time on camp fires
• Increased fire fuel amount provided by leaves & cash by x10
• Reduced chainsaw full charge duration
• The flashlight will now auto replace the battery sooner so that it happens before the light begins to fade

• Fix for clicking anywhere in the grab bag taking an item back from Virginia if the player closed the grab bag while hovering over the missing item

• Tactical in coffin GPS locator will no longer show up after loading a save where the player has already picked it up

Elden ring is great!!! Beyond that... when it launched i experienced performance issues on consoles.
I need a game like elden ring (where reaction matters) to have 60fps ...just like demon souls , assasin creed , nioh etc. I need my rolling to be instant haha
At launch I tried ps5 and it was pretty rough... but then I tried ps4 on ps5 and it was night and day with a solid 60fps throughout... expect some open world areas and a hill with a giant where it dipped to 20 fps lol
I'm planning on returning. I was hoping ps5 now has consistent 60fps and is noticeably superior to ps4...But I've just heard otherwise.....

• So which version of elden ring will give me the most consistent highest fps ?

Also I heard raytracing is in the game. Is that only on ps5 or would it work with ps4 on ps5? And does it cause even more frame drops? (As it does on other games).

I’m having an enormously difficult time trying to brainstorm some suitable names for my fictional city. Here’s a few tidbits for those who’d like to help me out:
-set irl (but located in the Pacific Northwest of the US—think of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, northern CA).
-it functions like a city-state with a triumvirate governing body including three powerful groups with probable eldritch origins.
-it’s known to be the City Beyond the Veil. Basically, it’s well hidden by magical means. Inspired by Neomuna/The Dreaming City (Destiny), Lands Between (Elden Ring), Night City (Cyberpunk), and Wakanda (MCU).
-the genre I’m aspiring to write is Magipunk so a magic/cyberpunk or urban in tone.
-the city’s nickname is Neon Babylon; which is actually a real nickname for Reno, NV, a location I’ve deliberated just setting my novel in the first place.
Some ideas I’ve jotted down are Gehenna, Sheol, Nistar, Umbriel/Umbria, Neoumbra, Cascadia…

For some reason Elden Ring automatically enabled raytracing - while I know I don't have the GPU power to do that. My save files wouldn't load while it was enabled, but once I turned it off, I was good to go.

In the Main Menu:
SYSTEM -> Graphics (second from the right on the HUD) -> Set "Ray Tracing Quality" to "Off"

We know swimming and climbing cost one extra foot of movement speed per foot, unless you have a climbing or swimming speed. Crawling is governed by the same rules and is mentioned in the same section. Does anything have a crawling speed? My first thought was to look up the Crawling Claw stat block, but no dice. Carrion Crawler? Nope, Chuck Testa. I just love the idea of scuttling around while prone causing disadvantage on any attacks not within 5 feet. I'm picturing the girl from The Ring in full plate.

Does anyone know how to play Elden Ring crack with the randomizer?

I wish we could sort by average playtime. After putting 150 hours into Elden Ring, I find that I don’t really enjoy games that take over 20 hours anymore. I like beating a game within a week and moving on. What are some of your favorite shorter games available on GamePass?
For example, I really enjoyed Scorn, Life Is Strange True Colors, Quake, & Mortal Kombat 11’s story mode. All of these could be finished in like 4 -7 days of casual playing.

Soooo maybe it's just me but seems like Elden Ring is having some serious stuttering/slowdown issues after this Raytracing update? I can run along just fine with 30-45 FPS then game just tanks to 6-7 FPS.
Any thoughts?

Hey, just need a bit of help with something. I've just got into modding Elden Ring, and I've gotten DS Map Studio and all of the essentials set up and working. I kind of ran into an issue, though. I wanted to make a copy of the spirit noble NPC (the ones that usually do the lore dumps in front of important places), and place it in a specific area. Specifically , I was going for the version found in Caelid that hungers for dragon heart. However, when using DSMS to look at the scene, the NPC doesn't seem to appear, which is weird considering Miriel and some other NPCs seem to be where they're supposed to be. I looked on the Discord, but

1. I didn't find anything
   
2. The discord is a bit of a mess to sort through
   

So, that got me thinking I either needed some other tool, or I missed something in DSMS. Does anyone have an idea of how to go about doing this? While I'm at it, is there any way to create/modify story progression switches? There's something specific I'm trying to make with all of this. That also raises the question: What is the state of modding so far? Is any of this even close to being possible at this point? Any help would be appreciated.

Stand Ability:『The Wanderer』is a stand that activates when somebody “Pursues” Horatio. Unlike Wonder of U’s definition, pursuing Horatio is to intend to harm Horatio in any manner, even if this it’s just a crowd that somebody wants to hurt that Horatio is in. Once this is fulfilled,『The Wanderer』will appear on Horatio’s hands and the tattoo will appear, and as long as Horatio maintains constant movement in a direction that is not within the 90 degree range opposite the person(s) who are pursuing him, as in moving away from the person(s), the ability will remain active. If Horatio manually disables the ability, or the person stops pursuing Horatio, the ability will drop and be unable to activate for 25 minutes. Now, the actual ability of『The Wanderer』is to: 1, Make Horatio not need food, water, or sleep in order to survive while the ability is active. 2, Will cause all attacks toward Horatio to be stored within the tattoo for 20 seconds, then being able to dispel the at a slightly weaker power, by making the air around him have that force, in a 6 meter circle all around Horatio. Furthermore, any special effects of the attack will not take into effect on those hit by the dispelled force. If a sharp attack that would slash, it is like a slash, if it was a blunt force, it’s like that. 3. Makes him unbelievably attractive to all women within 100 meters of him.
Appearance:『The Wanderer』takes the appearance of two iron gauntlets, as well as a tattoo of a Chevrolet Impala 4-door Sport Sedan. The gauntlets have a tight fit to Horatio’s hands, and go up to just before Horatio’s elbows, and is rainbow striped in color, with sharp ends to the fingers, as well as the colors fading to jet black the further up the arms you go. The Tattoo shows a side shot of the car, with the words “MY WANDERIN” above it and “ROSIE” under it, in bold. When the Tattoo is storing an attack it will seem to move all around the user’s body, with the text not moving with it.
User lore: Horatio has been a car lover all his life. He began working with the neighborhood car repair company when he was 9, being pretty damn good at it too. At age 15, he had tooken every class that could help with running a car company, making cars, testing cars, doing the math for cats, and repairing cars. Then as soon as he got out of school after taking engineering as his Major and physics as his minor, he decided to be a freelance mechanic and teacher, and enjoying his wandering lifestyle. At age 27, Horatio got into a fight, because he was working as a tutor, and a pretty well-built father was yelling at one of his students because they were studying engineering. He got the shit kicked out of him. After awakening from the aftermath,『The Wanderer』was awakened. After awakening his Stand, Horatio became purely a freelance mechanic, as well as breaking a lot of hearts by hooking up with girls before moving to the next town over. He became quite a lot more of a wanderer too. Horatio currently drives a mint-condition Ford F150.
User Appearance: Horatio usually wears a sleeveless jacket that he ties around his waist when fighting. Horatio has well built arms and ok legs, but he’s never gone to the gym, so he isn’t that strong. Horatio clocks out at 7’0, with his dyed-orange, quite long, shaggy hair usually in several upwards screw patterns with some special hair-clips he made. He wears saggy grey and black basketball shorts. He wears shoes that are special metal flip-flops that give more balance than usual. His face isn’t ugly, being unusually soft and spotless despite his messy profession. He shaves his face regularly, and has a smug look on his face whenever he’s fighting somebody, even if he’s taking it seriously or they are absolutely wrecking him.

A little while back I talked about which games could be possible using only female characters and ever since then I can’t stop thinking about trying one of the older games with it. Namely, Genealogy of the Holy War. It’s one of the theoretically harder ones, with Ethlyn being your only option for the prologue and the first part of chapter before Ayra (Edain joins slightly before, but cannot deal damage). And yet…I think it can be done. It would take a lot inventory planning and careful resource management and a whole lot of luck but it should be possible. Once I finish New Mystery, I want to give it a shot.
We also need to clearly define what the men can and cannot do. The goal is to have it be as much of a girls only run as possible, but we can’t completely have the men do nothing. Some of them will have no choice but to see combat and others are required to recruit women.
Men can:

⁃ Talk to people. Important for recruitment, boosting the stats of some women, and giving/getting items for the women to use ⁃ See combat IF they do not have a weapon equipped. An unfortunately necessary allowance with the starting positions of certain units (Dew and Lewyn come to mind). That said, it should not be abused (ie putting a wall of unarmed men between a woman and enemies) ⁃ Fall in love. This will be challenging enough without also making it substitutes only. Besides, Ethlyn and Deirdre already have lovers so there’s no need to restrict the others ⁃ Give their money to their lover. Not much different than talking and it won’t be a big sum (since they can’t fight to earn more), but it still belongs to the wives. 

Potentially:

⁃ Do map events (like Lex’s Brave Axe event). I’m on the fence on this one but it isn’t all that dissimilar to talking for items. Either way, they aren’t using it themselves. ⁃ Purchase items. Another one I’m unsure of, but Brigid not passing her inventory on to Patty is a problem. She’ll have a hard enough time surviving her join chapter without a little help in her inventory 

Men cannot:

⁃ Deal damage. Anything to do with fighting other than completely unavoidable “you start in the enemy’s range” type deals ⁃ Visit villages. They didn’t save them so they don’t get the reward. ⁃ Take castles. See above. 

So what are the obstacles here? Once both generations get going it should be perfectly manageable. It’s those early chapters that cause the most problems since both generations will have to start as solos.
Gen 1: Ethlyn
You’ll have to wait for Ethlyn to show up before you can do anything. It might mean unequipping everyone and just sitting there until turn three.
The good:

⁃ the slim sword is actually pretty decent??? 8 might isn’t incredible but it’s 3 in most other games ⁃ She has a horse! ⁃ Holy blood means she has an A rank in swords so she can take Sigurd’s silver sword, which she can afford with a village or her husband’s money ⁃ She gets a fantastic +6 strength on promotion ⁃ Critical ability plus bonds with Sigurd and Quan to help her combat ability 

The bad:

⁃ starts at level 1 ⁃ Very fragile ⁃ Very meh growths ⁃ No pursuit ⁃ Still has to solo the chapter ⁃ You’ll put all this effort into building her only for her to leave in chapter 4 ⁃ She passes her inventory down to her son, not her daughter 

She’ll have to solo all of the prologue. Edain joins at the beginning of chapter 1, but has no means of attacking. That means Ayra is the next unit get, and she’ll be tough to recruit. Hopefully Ethlyn will snowball from the paralogue, otherwise this will be very rough. If you can make it to getting Ayra, the rest of gen 1 shouldn’t be an issue. There is a big question though: who do we pair? Optimal pairings are going to look a lot different when you’re only trying to optimize one character.
Edain: Lana has zero use for strength so a magic dad is the way to go. Claude seems like the best option for a higher staff rank. Helps Edain pass down better staffs too. Definitely a low priority child though…she’ll keep the others alive but she’s not likely to be a big damage dealer.
Ayra: Lex or Dew look like the best options for helping Larcei in the early parts of gen 2 with paragon and sol. I might make the very controversial decision to keep Ayra unpaired though. I prefer Creidne and the early part of gen 2 doesn’t look too bad using just her and Lana, and you get Julia and Fee very quickly. A good Larcei would make things a lot easier though.
Lachesis: I’m very unsure here. Nanna’s strength is surprisingly impressive, but she also wants magic for healing and pursuit to double. Leaning towards Lewyn for balance, maybe a full physical dad instead.
Sylvia: Really shouldn’t matter. Lene shouldn’t see combat and no skills are a must have. It’s what Sylvia can put in her inventory that’s most important.
Erinys: another one I’m unsure of. Jamke gives nice balanced stats while Lex gives her amazing defense plus paragon and vantage (and if I’m not using Lex elsewhere she might be the best option).
Tailtiu: Azelle by a mile. Best magic, good speed, and pursuit. It’s still unfortunate that Tine can’t ever inherit Thoron but she’ll get it eventually.
Brigid: Holyn gives her Luna and B swords at base while Dew gives her Sol and slightly better Attack and Speed. Patty’s in a very difficult situation: she inherits her father’s items and not her mother’s. And since we’re not using fathers…..both start with a good amount of gold though so if we allow the boys to purchase items they might be able to pass down something useful to her (especially Dew…15,000 gold plus the bargain skill is big).
Really in Gen 2 I think the biggest issue will be keeping Patty alive. Starting with Lana plus Larcei/Creidne makes the start of gen 2 a lot easier, and you pick up Fee and Julia quickly.
Any pairing recommendations? Problem parts I’m not thinking about? Rules that need to be adjusted? Concerns about my sanity for considering this?

Hi. I'm looking to talk to some new people, maybe make some friends
They are:
History, especially the 19th-20th century but with more broad and general knowedge in other time periods. I'm not an expert or anything but I am pretty passionate about it and tend to read/listen about one event or the other on a pretty regular basis.
Literature, especially old novels. I recently read Demian, Day of the Oprichnik, Heart of Darkness, the Perfume and Little Prince. Currently started reading Blood Meridian. Some of my favourite works would include: "The Picture of Dorian Gray", "Faust part I" (need to get to part II) and "No Longer Human". I also like to write short stories and book reviews.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I'm currently working to scrape off the rust and then when I'm finished with that will begin to learn a fourth language. It's fun to go through different works in multiple languages. For example, I read the aforementioned Faust part I in all three.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad! The main questline at least, Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and will try out Deus Ex Manking Divided again ( Got inspired since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk). I was waiting to play Elden Ring but it ended being too stressful for me. Go here and get beaten up go there and get beaten up, repeat...Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games...like EU IV and HoI IV . I am definitely looking forward to try out Victoria III, after they add more content to it. I also got Modern Warfare 2, since the first MW had great multiplayer gameplay.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good new season of Bleach. Some other favourites include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass , Higurashi (season 2 is a bit weak but the first one is a masterpiece of horror), Code Geass, Attack on Titan and others. My favourite Manga is Berserk...I hope it gets a good ending..the first couple of new chapters were...a bit rough but the new author seems to have got his footing.
