Overstock short squeeze peak

I have a dream How they could pay for the squeeze without going broke.

2023.03.23 21:58 steveo199 I have a dream How they could pay for the squeeze without going broke.

The following is a work of fiction and is not financial advice.
In my dream I have come to the conclusion that the US government might somehow mass collude or have found a way to mess with the price of bitcoin. I predict they will run up bitcoin to 55,000 dollars usd then mass flash crash it along with various cryptos to 0.005 cents usd or less. Then they will run up the price with their tool to 10,000 then flash crash it again with the tool then run it up to 100,000 and sell off to various people around the world. They will do this to various crypto currencies. Then they will use the money from this event to give it to ken griffin to either cover his shorts and hope itll be enough.
I have done quick maths and have calculated if this event comes to past they can double their insurance of the stock market from 76 trillion to 152 trillion and use that money to cover the amc and gme and meme stock epic short squeeze at any number. Then they will pay us in cbdcs.

I mean think about they run it up to 50,000 - 60,000 and get everyone on board then crash it with their tool to sub zero and get many to sell to them for nothing then they run it up into the thousands and get the same people to try to make some money back.
I believe the government have trained their minds to hack exchanges with computers but just their minds to crash bitcoin to. 0 and below. They need to pay for the squeeze somehow and what better way then it is to do what I stated above. All they need to do is to get the price. on all exchanges to go from 55.000 - 60,000 down to sub zero and buy it off retail crypto investors who have stop losses set then get those same retail investors to try to make thier money back,

2023.03.23 21:56 Squils-a-lot Is upgrading to a new multi-sport watch worth it?

I have been wearing the classic blue and black Garmin 920xt since 2015...and it still works! Which is why I am asking if upgrading is worth it? Here's a list of things that catch my attention that my current watch doesn't have/do. Maybe someone can let me know if these features are worth jumping to before my watch is actually toast?
- Downloading workouts: I already have a bike computer (Wahoo Element Bolt) and I really only use my watch in swimming for longer mainsets/intervals when I might lose count, so this would be mostly for running. I don't waste time building my workouts in training peaks (for other athletes) and then again in the garmin app to download onto my own watch. I've always just kept track of work/rest times. But the idea of being able to just create the session on my TP and then have it sync automatically sounds great. Especially on distance based sessions with time based rest, don't have to remember odd numbers and do any math when I'm dead tired!
- Track mode: Kind of a part B to the downloading of workouts part. I've recently started to love running on a track. I know I can just turn off auto lap and press the lap button at the end of an interval/length, but are the new track modes accurate enough so that you it will auto lap right around your end point? The idea of doing 1k efforts and not having to find my button as I finish sounds nice, but not necessary.
- Music (Spotify specifically): I'm male and live in a safe area, so I have no inherent need to run with my phone. In fact, I prefer to not have it. However, I love listening to music on my easy short or endurance runs when its all about enjoying myself. Do these watches make downloading, accessing, and listening to music easy or is it more trouble than its worth?
- Health/fitness tracking: I enjoyed my Whoop for about 6 months in 2020, but then didn't see its value after I learned what worked for me, and it seems so many other watches can give you similar data points without a BS subscription. I don't care for every calorie burned or what my estimated vo2 is, but it would be nice to have another set of numbers to see how I'm responding to *insert variable here*.

Lastly, if there are any features you find that you enjoy that you didn't expect when purchasing, let me know. Thanks!

Short-term holders just took the most profits since the 2021 ATH and most of those coins were bought at the bear market low of about $15.4k.
Every rally is used by someone as some kind of an exit liquidity or just profit-taking, it was no different without current rally to above $28k and especially in a bear market many would love to take profits at every small chance. The cohort (aka holding group) that would take the most profits would seem to be the short-term holders.
And indeed that is the case, with our euphoric 80% rally off lows there were plenty of chances to take profits and arguably the best one was our recent rally to above $28k, just simultanously to banks collapsing. There we just saw the most profits being taken since the BTC $69k peak in 2021, the peak of the last bull market.

Chart from Glassnode
Over $292M in profits were take just through this one 30% move up on just Bitcoin, in the past few years only 297 days recorded a higher amount of profit-taking than right now by the short-term holders.
More than that, we can assume with a high probability that most of those coins were actually purchased during our current bear market low of just above $15k, meaning that even some short-term holders were confident enough to purchase down there.

2023.03.23 21:32 Advanced_Falcon_2816 The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure

The US government is already trying to blame crypto as the cause for the banking failures - 3 banks which failed over the course of a last week.
These are all the articles that are doing the round since yesterday's bailout:
CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure Barney Frank sees crypto as a common element in bank failures
This sinister article above, where Barney Frank (the guy who established Dodd-Frank act) tried to pin all the blame on crypto. In reality, all the failures were due to these banks holding treasuries and not because of crypto.
Banks are regulated and legally cannot hold any crypto, nor do they hold any crypto. They have no losses from holding cryptos, nor any bad loans or investments in crypto companies. These banks have been shuttered because they ran up big losses on their treasury portfolios.
Other articles:
CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure "Risky bet on crypto" tanks signature bank
CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure Regulators force close crypto focussed bank!
CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure WSJ: crypto crypto!!
In reality, crypto has nothing to even do with these bank failures. None of the banks held cryptos in their balance sheet, they all held treasuries, and they mismanaged their risk and poor regulation allowed a run on these banks. They posted huge losses on their treasuries portfolios, owing to which these banks werent able to honor redemptions.
Yet all the articles speak about crypto! Crypto is the biggest scapegoat right now, and the administration is trying its best to pin all the bank failures on crypto.
Coming to these banks, SVB - silicon valley bank had major exposure to VC backed companies. They had little to do with crypto at all.
Silvergate and Signature bank were crypto friendly banks, but their asset liability mismatch has nothing to do with crypto. Infact many believe that Signature bank was on track to honor its redemptions but was force closed by the government, just so that they can pin all of it on crypto while at the same time off ramping one of the crypto-friendly banks.
CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure Nic Carter: They gutted Signature so Biden admin could pin it on crypto tomorrow
CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure Chase Perkins: Signature Bank didn’t fail, regulators capitalized on the opportunity to shutter a crypto friendly bank, using the downfall of Silvergate and SIVB as cover. Actions taken are nothing short of nefarious central planning, per directive of Operation Choke Point 2.0.
Yellen Admits Bank Failures Are Due To Loss In Value of Treasuries: CryptoCurrency - The US Government is about to gaslight the failure of banks as a failure of crypto. Dont be fooled - the bank failure has nothing to do with crypto, and everything to do with banks buying treasuries/MBS and regulatory failure In an interview yesterday. Secretary of Treasury admitted that the bank's problems were due to loss in market value of treasuries and MBS
Yet the articles are just coming out where the headlines make it sound as if its all to do with crypto.
The Fed almost never takes any responsibility for the failures they cause. From their relentless QE/buying junk assets for a whole decade, to claiming inflation was transitory and allowing inflation to peak at 7%, to now unprecedented rate hikes causing damage to the economy, they have never taken responsibility for any of the major mistakes that have snowballed into economic crisis.
And now they have a ready made scapegoat who they can pin all the blame on - crypto!

2023.03.23 21:15 evil_genius111 Mixed experience with 5g of Penis Envy

Writing this post for both to warn inexperienced mushroomers and ask for advice. My previous experience was 3 times with Golden teachers, every time it was about 3g dried. The trips were different, with tears of joy, nice visuals, meditations and insights, but always pleasant. I couldn't even believe that there are bad trips.
But yesterday evening I decided to try Penis Envy, which I was unfamiliar with. I bought 5g, got hungry and prepared my room, music, warm clothes, water, everything that should be nearby during a trip. I started with 1g. I was really surprised that PE took me within 10 minutes, when GT need not less than 30 minutes to kick in.
It was more intense and very different from GT. I listened to music, danced in front of the mirror, actually I realized, that PE can be a party mushroom for me. Then I continued and took 1g more, while kept doing same stuff and enjoying.
So long story short, within 3 hours I consumed 5g. Though I didn't plan for it, I think I just enjoyed so much that I lost control. This is the first tricky thing about PE. I remember like I watched Instagram, enjoying nice visuals, everything was so warm and kind, I felt like every time I breath in the air inside gives me so much joy. I think I moaned (hope my neighbor didn't hear).
Then one more big mistake (I suppose), I switched off calm music and started listening to deep house and techno. I think I hyperstimulated myself, and I just disappeared.
During this trip I was at craziest techno parties in so many places, I kissed and fucked hundreds of women, then I was a woman and was fucked by men, had pervert orgies and crazy orgasms, these mushrooms fucked my conscience inside out and upside down and threw it on the sidewalk.
At a certain moment I appeared again in my body. And in that very moment I realized why people need sitters, because it was a very uneasy experience. I started going back and forth across the flat in a borderline panicking and desperate state, from the toilet to my bed and back. Luckily my neighbor smokes a lot of weed and sleeps like dead.
Then I managed to get it together for a moment and sat on my bed, but the panic thoughts wouldn't let me go. I wanted to lock myself in the cupboard or crawl under my bed because I was so scared that I will lose control and do something bad, or just jump from the balcony. At a certain moment I was thinking that I should call somebody or wake up my neighbor and tell him that I am not okay and need help, but at the same time I didn't even know which type of help I needed, and they wouldn't be able to help me.
It is very good that I'm no stranger to meditations and have been doing it every day for roughly two years. I started concentrating on my breathing, telling myself that I was okay. The key thing that helped me to calm down is silence and that I told myself, that I didn't do anything bad to anybody, all the experience was only in my head, I didn't wake up my neighbor, I didn't call my gf, I didn't unload all this shit on anybody.
Since I calmed down, I just lied for extra 3 hours emptied. Mushrooms took me to some more short journeys, but my brain was already squeezed and it wasn't intense anymore.
So, this trip was something that I have never experienced before, and even this panic state - I take it as some kind of a test, which I managed to pass due to mental exercises that I did before. But at the same time I consider this trip completely botched, because until now I don't understand if I really discovered something except wicked pleasure in those delirious fantasies. Probably with time my brain will process it. So, what I'd like to say:
  1. Be freaking careful with the PE dose! If you plan for 2g, put 2g on the table and hide the rest of it in a place where you will be too lazy to reach while tripping
  2. I will accept any tips on how to improve my PE trips and actually explore and learn something

2023.03.23 20:30 LeeCloud27 ACT 2-6-7: Lingering Scarlet Fear

"I trust her." Satsujin said. "There is no doubt that I believe what she said. And even if I’m wrong, what other choice do we even have?"
"Leaving the mansion, going solo, saving our intangible skin, not being an idiot…" Apathetic Satsujin listed things down one by one until Satsuki bonked him on the head.
"Quiet you. You made the right choice, Satsujin." Satsuki said.
And with that, Satsujin continued down the hall with the others, letting Mystia guide them. They passed by several rooms, walked over and around roots they might’ve tripped on had they not noticed, and kept their guard up for whatever may be to come.
While Mystia guided everyone, Cirno walked up to her, curious about something.
"So… Mystia was it?" She asked.
"Um, yes, that’s me." Mystia said.
"I actually know a Mystia from my world. She’s a singer at this bar a friend of mine owns."
"A singer?"
"Yeah, she loves to sing. Always having a casually happy-go-lucky attitude. No matter where she goes, she speaks as if every word were part of a song."
"I-I see." Mystia said. "She must be amazing at singing then… I actually knew someone who was good at singing themselves… They loved music more than anything…" Her voice lowered, almost sounding like she was sad about something.
Cirno was a little confused, yet Mystia continued on, "I still remember some of their songs. Always with passion, with love, with constant dedication. They loved making each note ring in everyone’s ears elegantly, with a sound that you can’t help but fall in love with."
"...Hey…Are you okay?" Cirno noticed something was off about the way Mystia was acting. Mystia also realized this and quickly snapped out of it.
"Ah! Sorry! I was thinking of other matters! That’s all!" She said. "We should really focus on saving Ko!"
Mystia hastened her pace, as did the others. Cirno kept her eye on Mystia, feeling concerned about something that she couldn’t put her mind to.
Soon, they arrived at a door that was different from the other doors they had passed. It was taller and wider too, decorated with a scarlet crest. It was a well-made door, precisely made to bear something of importance inside; a door that would only keep something special within. Doing what she did best, Suika kicked the door down and broke it into several pieces, patting herself on the back.
"Ah…Never gets old." Suika said. "Too bad I couldn’t do this at the shrine without having my sake privileges revoked."
Everyone walked into the room. It was dark inside, so dark that they couldn’t see the floor or the walls, nothing but pitch black. The atmosphere was also quiet, tranquil. It was like leaving one world and entering another, one without sight, without sound, only bleakness. The further they went in, the darker it got, away from the door they entered. It almost seemed as though they could walk forward forever and never reach an end; a path without a stopping point.
"It's so dark in here." Rumia said. "And I’m supposed to be a youkai of darkness."
"You think there would be at least one light inside here." Cirno said. "Hey, Mystia, are you sure we are in the right place?"
"Yes, of course. This should be the room that Ko is in."
"Oh sure, a room that none of us can see. How perfect. We can all experience the same thing that Satsujin experiences every day." Mary said.
*smack*
"OW! How did you even know where I was!?"
"Because you talk so loud I don’t even need to sense your exact location." Satsujin said.
"Guys, can we not for a second? We’re close; we need to find Ko fast." Rumia said.
"Ribbit! Ribbit!!!"
"See, even Gummy agrees; don’t you think so, Suika?"
"..."
Silence.
"Um…Suika?" Rumia asked again.
"Oh wait, is she doing the whole ‘pretending to be gone but sudden jump-scare’ spiel?" Mary guessed. "I mean, I was going to do it if she didn’t."
"Just be quiet Mary." Satsujin said.
"Yeah. We really need to find Ko soon, right, Rumia?" Cirno asked.
"..."
Once again, silence.
"Um…Rumia?"
"Now she’s doing it too? C’mon, how come you didn’t let me in on this, you guys!?" Mary complained.
"...Mary, I don’t think they’re doing this on purpose." Satsujin said in an uneasy tone. "I can’t sense them anymore."
"Huh? C’mon, don’t mess with me. Cirno, say something!"
"..."
"...Oh fuck, you’re not messing with me after all."
"Oh no… I think we’re too late." Mystia said.
"Too late? What do you mean?"
"Yeah, what do you-"
Mary’s voice was suddenly cut short, making Satsujin and Mystia concerned.
"M-Mary!? Where are you!?" Satsujin said. "Mystia! We need to get out of here!"
"B-But we haven’t found Ko yet! We can’t leave!"
"As long as I can protect you, that’s enough for me!"
"But what about- AAAAAAH!!!"
"Mystia!!!"
Satsujin sensed Mystia being pulled away from something. He quickly rushed to where he believed Mystia was being dragged, attempting to reach his hand out and grab her before it was too late. But he couldn’t. A force of impact struck him, striking him so hard that he was sent in the opposite direction. It was so fast that he couldn't tell where it came from as he rolled across the ground.
He felt his body hurt, a feeling that was as if he were experiencing multiple tremors from his head to his feet. It took him a second before he could compose himself and get back up.
"Mystia? Hey! Mystia!!!" He shouted. "Where are you!? What did you do to her!? Reveal yourself!!!" He spoke with anger.
And though it didn’t need to happen for him specifically, the room, which was nothing but a black void-like area, turned into one with light, color, shape, and form. Lamps ignited with their soft, bright glows, ranging from a fiery orange to a ghostly white, revealing the treacherous number of roots that surrounded Satsujin.
A sinister laugh played out, almost creepy to listen to. Satsujin recognized the tone immediately.
"No…" He said.
"It can’t be." Satsuki said.
"Get us out of here, now. Get us out here, now!!!" The Apathetic Satsujin spoke in a much more worried tone.
A gap appeared far from Satsujin, while the sound of an organ played a menacing note. A figure rose out, revealing themselves bit by bit. Their hair was more white than blonde; her skin was pale and grey; her eyes were pitch black; and her smile was wide and wicked. Her clothes were tattered and worn, and her parasol was full of holes and covered in webbing. She left the gap, allowing it to close behind her.
"My…My…My…" Efena said. "We meet again, Satsujin."
"...Efena." Satsujin said, calmly pulling out the blade from his cloak, pointing it in Efena’s direction with a determined look on his face. "What did you do to Mystia and the others?"
"What did I do? Oh, Satsujin. The last time we met, I underestimated you. I almost lost because of you, and it nearly terrified me. But I’m more prepared this time, but what about you?"
Satsujin gritted his teeth, getting ready to send out a spell card to fight. But as he was about to chant, Efena interrupted him.
"I know what you’re thinking right now. You think that you can win because you are resistant to my mist and that you can easily beat me with whatever strategy you have planned." Efena said, waving her hand.
The roots that were behind her moved and uncoiled. A figure was drawn out, bound by their limbs. Satsujin sensed who the figure was and became shocked.
It was Ko; her mouth was gagged up so she was unable to speak, but she looked terrified, her face stained with tears while she squirmed to try and escape.
"Ko-Chan!!!" Satsujin shouted. "Let her go!!!" He said now more aggressive.
He quickly ran to try and attack, but was stopped when he sensed even more figures behind him. He checked back and found everyone else who had accompanied him also bound up by roots, while another figure stood next to them, another familiar one.
With horns on both sides of their head, and long, dark pink hair and hollow eyes, Demise smiled as he looked at Satsujin while standing next to everyone who was now captive.
"You!!!" He shouted.
"Why yes. It was a shame we never had a chance to fight before Satsujin, but even now I don’t think we will get that opportunity." Demise said in a calm, charming voice. "Though, I do have to say, I’m envious you get to travel with such alluring women, especially this one right here with her sharp tongue." He walked over to Mary specifically, gently grabbing her by the chin.
Mary proceeded to say every curse word she knew, from the modern ones to ones that have been forgotten by history. However, due to the gag on her mouth, all Demise could hear were muffled sounds. He chuckled as he pulled his hand back. "But what I’m most interested in is this one right here."
He moved over to Mystia, who was separated from the others for some reason, yet her arms and legs were tied up together in roots. She was struggling to escape. Demise walked over to her, moving her face so she would meet his.
"Let go of me!!!" Mystia shouted. "Let go of me, or I swear I’ll-"
Mystia was interrupted as Demise laid an intense kiss on her, in front of Satsujin. He deliberately made it so he would witness the moment. Satsujin was in shock, as were his variants. Satsuki, in particular, was furious.
"You…You don’t go up to a girl and steal a kiss from her!" Satsuki shouted. She took control of Satsujin’s body, his eyes going from red and blue to blue and red, and Mary’s blade switched into a shiny baseball bat.
"Oh, this is new." Efena said.
"Prepare yourself, enemy of women!!!" Satsuki screamed. She rushed right at Demise, holding her bat back and then swinging it right at Demise. Yet he dodged it without any trouble or worry, keeping the same calm smile he always kept. The bat instead slammed on the ground, leaving a cracked hole in the wooden floor.
"RRRRAAAUUUUGGGHHH!!!" Satsuki screamed and swung the bat at Demise again and again, but he easily avoided her. Inside Satsujin’s subconscious, however, both Satsujins were trying to get Satsuki to calm down, but it was hard when she was swinging her bat around both physically and mentally.
"Satsuki! Calm down!" The Kind-Hearted Satsujin said. "You can’t beat him in that state-woah!!!" Satsujin ducked as her bat grazed the top of his head.
"This!!! This is exactly why we should’ve not gone in! But no, you wanted to play hero!" The Apathetic Satsujin said, only to get a face full of bat as he was knocked to the ground.
"Stop dodging already!!! Face me like the man you claim to be!" Satsuki shouted at Demise.
"Well, I’m technically possessing a girl at the moment, but if you say so." Demise said.
She swung her bat down at him, intending to lay a heavy blow on his skull. Demise, having promised to face his opponent rather than dodge, grabbed the bat with his hand, gripping it tightly, and refused to let go. Satsuki used her might to try and pry the bat back to her, but she underestimated the strength of an Oni. Then Demise followed his approach by throwing a punch right at Satsuki’s stomach, but unfortunately for him, his punch only phased through the more feminine variant of the vengeful spirit.
"Ah, I almost forgot we can turn intangible." Satsuki thought. "Nice try, I’m not as-"
Satsuki’s sentence was interrupted when she felt her entire body suddenly vibrate at a level that no living being should be capable of. Even though she was intangible, she felt a sensation that made her nauseous and dizzy. She let go of the bat, backing away from Demise before she fell to the ground, and Satsujin was forced to take back control. The feeling of nausea hit him, but he didn’t vomit due to lacking a natural stomach, but he remained immensely dizzy.
"I do have to give you praise for having the ability to turn intangible, a useful ability when you’re in a predicament." Demise said. "But here’s a fact: When you’re turning intangible, you’re simply converting all the molecules and atoms of your body to be able to slip through other molecules by aligning them slightly off from where they should be in your body." Demise explained before tossing Satsujin's weapon back.
Satsujin struggled to get up with his hands and feet on the ground, but he did so after regaining some strength. He picked up his weapon again, getting ready to fight back.
"Oh, you’re still not giving up. You still think you can win?" Demise asked.
"I won’t… stop…until I can save everyone." Satsujin said.
Above him, Efena clapped, a slow clap that got his and everyone else’s attention. She looked amused, staring down at Satsujin.
"Oh, Satsu, you know you can’t win… If anything, you already lost the moment you walked in here." Efena said. "But, since I’m willing to compromise, I’ll give you three choices." She held her hand out and showed three fingers. "One, you can leave right now; I’ll open the doors to the exit and let you leave with your life. Two, you willingly surrender, and in exchange, I’ll let everyone else go with their lives, including your bird girlfriend… Your birdfriend? Your girlbird?"
Satsujin was used to everyone claiming that Mystia was his girlfriend, but hearing Efena say it only made him feel more aggravated.
"What’s the third option then?" He asked.
"The third? The third is that you disregard my generosity and continue to attack me. Then I’ll proceed to strangle everyone else here while they witness their worst nightmares come to life in their little minds, unable to comprehend the feeling of hope or a savior while the oxygen in their lungs run out."
She moved over to Ko, manipulating her roots to tighten up around her and began to squeeze her spine. Her muffled yells of pain were barely heard by Satsujin as he listened to the sound of the young child having to suffer in such a predicament.
"I’ll give you…thirty seconds to decide before I end this child’s life." Efena said. "Thirty, twenty-nine,"
Satsujin knew he had to act now or else. His other variants thought the same thing.
"Okay, this is our chance; we need to run! We found Ko; we failed to save her; therefore, we should flee while we can still walk." The Apathetic Satsujin said.
"W-What? Are you nuts!? We can’t leave them behind like this! Obviously, we need to fight!" Satsuki said.
"Twenty-one, twenty, nineteen,"
"Have you seen what the other god did to us? We were literally incapable of being harmed, and he still harmed us! And you wanna know who is to blame for her short-tempered thinking?"
"Well at least I did something brave compared to you, you coward!"
"Thirteen, twelve,"
"I’m not a coward; I only want to survive! That's why I'm here: to keep us from being idiots!"
"Eight, seven,"
"You have literally done nothing but complain and hesitate!"
"Three, two…"
"Okay!!! I give up!!!" Satsujin shouted.
"What!?!?" Both Satsuki and the apathetic Satsujin said.
"Hm, unexpected." Demise said. "Even for me, that was unexpected."
"I…I give up… Please let them all go." He said, kneeling to the ground and prostrating himself. "Just promise me you will leave them alone and out of harm’s way."
Everyone else was especially shocked. Rumia, Cirno, Suika, Mary, Ko, Shanghai, and Gummy were all shocked.
S-Satsujin! No!!!" Mystia cried from the back. "What are you even saying right now!?"
"...Hah…Hahaha…Ahahahahaha!!!" Efena laughed. "My, I gave you a fight-or-flight choice, and you somehow picked neither. I’m both amazed and disappointed…But a deal’s a deal. I’ll let them go."
Roots started to move over to Satsujin, grabbing him by the arms and legs and wrapping tight so he wouldn’t be able to leave. He didn’t even bother to try and escape, already accepting his fate. Demise watched this happen, while Mystia hung her head low in despair, knowing the love of her life had failed. But then Demise sensed something.
"Huh, that’s a weird feeling of deja-"
He quickly turned around, blocking a fearsome blow from the gatekeeper, Hong Meiling, whose eyes flared up with a fighting spirit deep within her.
"Vu." Demise finished. "Well, what do we have here?"
He was interrupted again by a low sweeping kick from Meiling. She followed it by swinging her leg down at him, aiming for his skull. However the former God of Foresight quickly prepared and vibrated his molecules to phase through her kick, then went to gain some distance between each other.
"A feisty one, I see." Demise said. "You’re quick; you managed to hit me before I could even react." He cracked his knuckles, getting into a fighting stance similar to the one that Kasen generally uses when she engages in combat.
"Y’know, I always wanted to spar with the Hermit herself… This is close enough." Meiling spoke.
"Then I promise not to let you down, my sweet dragon." Demise said, a glimmer showing in his hollow eyes.
The fight between Meiling and Demise commenced. The two went back and forth, trading blows and parrying kicks and punches. They zipped across the large open room at blinding speeds, so much so that the naked eye would have difficulty viewing the battle. Meiling was definitely very powerful up close; having known several martial arts techniques, her ability to manipulate qi and having experience fighting various opponents over the years definitely made her a worthy opponent.
But Demise was no doubt a highly experienced fighter. He would be a valiant foe even if he didn't have his foresight or ability to manipulate vibrations. He had gone up against gods ranging from the ones who live on Mt. Olympus to those born and raised in Asgard. He faced opponents who could manipulate the elements, conjure magic of insurmountable magnitude, wield technology advanced enough to be considered mythical. To him, Meiling was an everyday woman.
Efena remained above the scene of the fight, watching the two go at it while she kept an eye on Satsujin who had already accepted his fate. Even if he wanted to escape she still had her hands on Ko, and he couldn’t risk doing anything that would harm the child or make things worse. But unbeknownst to her, another figure had entered the room via a hidden trapdoor.
Sumireko slowly stepped out of the trapdoor, taking a quick look at her location before seeing where Ko and the others were being held. She noticed Ko looking terrified, unable to move or fight back. She wanted to call for her, let her know she had everything taken care of.
But she can’t, she needed to stay quiet, and continue forward with the plan.

"Wait, you mean the entire mansion has trapdoors in every room?"
"Yeah. We not only created a bomb shelter for the mansion, but designed each and every single room to have a hidden trapdoor. Each of them connects to a separate hallway that can’t be entered by normal means. I want you to take that hallway and follow this exact path I drew on this map."
"So is this where Ko is captured? How do you know?"
"That room is a special room that Lady Remilia likes for some reason. Back when… Inco was here, I noticed that she spent a lot of time inside that room. When I pass by it, I occasionally hear other people's voices. I’m definitely certain that’s where they are kept."
"So we only need to take this path and ambush them?"
"No. I will act as a diversion. Get their attention long enough while you pull Ko and whoever else may be there out of harm’s way."
"What? How am I supposed to do that? Didn’t you say that one of them can control roots or something?"
"You should be able to manipulate the roots without alerting them if you use your psychic powers correctly. You have to be quick and quiet, this will be our one and only shot at this."
"What happens… if we fail?"
"...Then all we can do is run."

Sumireko knew she had to make this count. Meiling could only keep their attention for so long before she gets overwhelmed.
"Okay… Just gotta manipulate the roots. I should be able to do that." Sumireko said. She held her hands out, concentrating on the roots that covered the room. She breathed slowly in and out, trying to make sure she didn’t use too much of her power but not too little either.
With each breath she took, she thought about how her powers worked. How she was able to lift and move objects simply by thinking about them. With each breath out, she recalled the time she had spent learning how to control her powers more accurately. Seeing how much energy she needed to use to lift a certain amount of weight or how far she could move something away from or towards her.
The roots in the room, though resistant at first, responded to her powers and slowly began to twitch. They moved slightly, but not enough to get anyone’s attention. She had to make sure her opponents wouldn’t find out their plan.
"Concentrate Sumireko…Focus on where Ko is. Focus on which roots are keeping her held and set her free." Sumireko thought. She closed her eyes, using her powers to sense where the roots were, where they were connected, and what they were holding onto. She checked dozens at a time, but anymore than that would notify the enemy of her position.
Meiling was able to keep up with Demise using Kasen’s fighting style, but it was clear that she would be no match for him, and he knew that well. He started the fight to see what Meiling was capable of, and while impressive, he was likely to get bored soon. He started avoiding her attacks, ducking and dodging fast enough that she couldn’t lay a finger on him.
"Crap! Sumireko! Hurry!" Meiling thought. "I don’t know how long I can keep him at bay!"
Sumireko continued to check the roots, still concentrating. She kept it up, breathing in and out, going with the flow. Meiling, on the other hand, was beginning to feel at a disadvantage as her opponent began to play with her rather than take her seriously.
"Concentrate…Concentrate…Concen-There!!!" Sumireko found the roots that held Ko. She quickly used her powers to manipulate the roots holding her, unwinding them from her arms and legs.
Ko was confused about what was going on; the roots suddenly began to unwrap. She fell toward the ground after they were undone.
"Ah-Ahhhhh!!!" Ko yelled, alerting Efena who had her attention entirely on the fight.
"What the?" She said. She looked back, seeing a figure she did not exactly recognize but knew was a threat.
"Ko-Chan!!!" Sumireko quickly reacted, rushing over to grab Ko before she could fall using her powers. Efena on the other hand used her roots to try and grab Sumireko.
"How the hell did you-"
Efena was interrupted when she felt a heavy blow to her abdomen. She looked down, seeing a very upset Satsujin glaring at her with his eyes. He sent another blow at her, knocking her to the wall and sliding down shortly after.
The collision caused her to lose control of her roots for a moment, releasing the others who were bound up by the roots. Sumireko grabbed Ko, pulling her into her arms, while the others quickly rushed over to where Sumireko and Satsujin were now.
"Oh, it looks like we’ve dropped our guard a little." Demise said, blocking an attack from Meiling while looking over at the others.
"Hey…Take this seriously!" Meiling said, out of breath.
"I was. I certainly enjoyed our little dance." Demise said. "But it looks like our ball has been cut short."
And suddenly he vanished, moving so quickly that Meiling couldn’t even see where he went, leaving her tired and confused.
"Onee-Chan!!!" Ko hugged Sumireko. "I was so scared… I thought I was going to die…Thank you for saving me!!!"
The others also thanked Sumireko, even Satsujin who was impressed with how Sumireko handled the situation. But he didn’t keep his attention on her for too long, as a certain cat’s meow got his attention.
"Meow."
He sensed the noise coming from where Mystia was. Mystia was lying on the ground, looking weakened, while Amai licked her face, tickling her.
"Oh, I almost forgot about Mystia." He said. He walked over to her, wanting to ask if she was alright.
Over at the other side of the room, Efena unsteadily raised her head, looking at the sight to behold. She saw a group of people smiling and a man going over to help a girl up. She had every reason to be mad at the moment, but instead she was afraid. She was afraid of the one person she could visualize in her mind, looking down at her with those cold, purple eyes while the sight of flames surrounded her from behind. A memory that terrified her surely.
"No…I…won’t…fail her again." Efena said. She raised one of her roots, handing it a certain item that she pulled out from a gap portal, and then threw it as hard as she could at not Sumireko, not Satsujin…
But Mystia.
The object flew across the room, zooming past the others. A few of them, most particularly Cirno and Meiling, noticed the object that went past and tried to react. But they weren’t fast enough.
Satsujin sensed the same object coming near him, right where Mystia was. He knew, based on its velocity, he had no time to pull out his blade, nor did he have enough time to push Mystia out of the object’s path.
So…he chose the only other option.

2023.03.23 20:23 AmilliBee Giving This Up

I (26f) went to a venue to support my (25m) boyfriend last night. It has gotten warmer recently where I live, so I thought to bring out my spring/summer closet. I chose to wear a short skirt and top.
BIG MISTAKE!
I felt so exposed the whole evening. Not wanting to dance too much for fear of someone seeing underneath my skirt. Even sitting down my skirt wasn't long enough to sit on (I know it's awful), so one wrong move and someone could get a peak. I expressed to my boyfriend how I'm giving up short skirts because I felt so uncomfortable. He liked this revelation I came to and said he likes it when I wear short skirts, but more in private when it's just us. I have to agree.
It's amazing how much difference a year can make. Last year when I bought that skirt I was so excited because I thought it was so cute. Now that I've taken to dressing more modestly, it doesn't feel right at all.
What's more, I saw a woman last night wearing a long dress and felt emotions about that. Not jealousy, just enlightened. She looked gorgeous and feminine yet still sexy! Even though she was covered from shoulder to ankle. I want to embody more of that style in my wardrobe. I've already bought 3 maxi skirts that I feel beautiful in. I think I'm moving in the right direction.
Moral of the story: sexy ≠ exposed

2023.03.23 20:11 Colin_Steve Pythor is DEAD! (Ninjago)

Hello internet, welcome to Reddit Theory, the show that is like Film theory, but less entertaining. So, I’ve saw this one Youtube Short talking about how a singular snake can eat his entire race, leaving him as the sole survivor. Confused yet? Well, explaining the entire lore of the show would take me an entire essay, but I’ll try to catch you up. Long before time had a name, there were humans and Serpentine, human and snake hybrids. The serpentine and humans, after some manipulation from everyone’s favorite noodle loving cult leader Master Chen, go to war in what is creatively called the Serpentine Wars. After the Serpentine lost, each race of serpentine is forced into a separate tomb across the landscape, the Anacondrai being trapped in a tomb in the desert. Unlike the other tribes, the Anacondrai were not given food prior, most likely because the humans wanted the Anacondrai, the most powerful tribe of them all, to die off. This begs the question: can a singular snake survive that long without food, and only their fellow serpentine to eat.
There are a few questions we need to answer before we start doing the math. The first question at hand: how long does Pythor have to survive until he can get out? The answer can easily be found on the Ninjago Wiki, where it says that the serpentine wars took place 40 years before season 7. Here’s where we hit our first hurdle, because we are not entirely aware how long each season lasts, but we can give an educated guess. Judging by timeline placement, and a line said by one of the ninjas in one of the latest seasons, we can give a pretty solid guess that Season 7 takes place 5 years after the first season. So Pythor has to last 35 years in his tomb.
Next question is how many serpentine does he have to eat. Well, again on the Ninjago Wiki, we are given an exact number. 12 Anacondrai, including Pythor, are locked into their tomb, meaning that Pythor would have to make 11 Anacondrai last 35 years. Goodness, I sound like a creep. The last and final question would be how much food does Pythor need, and how many calories is each Anacondrai packing? To do this, we need to find a snake that is the equivalent in the real world. This took a very, very… very long time, but I have found the answer. You might think that Pythor would best be compared to a python, but that is far from the truth. These snakes constrict their food, wrapping their bodies around their prey and squeezing, suffocating them to death, being more like the Constrictai.
At first, I looked for snakes that met his quota: purple, venomous(“They were bigger, smarter, natural leaders on the battlefield. The Anacondrai were a proud tribe who fought with every ounce of venom.”— Garmadon to Lloyd, "Spellbound"), and front-fanged. I found a snake called the Western Purple-Glossed Snake, but they were smaller and were rear-fanged, so I went deeper, going SO FAR as to find the classification of these serpentine by doing the one thing I could. Drumroll please… cladistics. Reference to Yoshi video is reference. It was quite simple to get to the Order of snakes, Squamata. From here, things got much harder. As I was researching this, I thought that they were non-venomous, but with further research, I found out that they were in fact venomous (as seen by quote above.)
With my tons and tons of research under my belt, I can confidently say that Pythor P. Chumsworth is a Trimeresurus Purpureomaculatus, or the Mangrove Pit Viper. The Mangrove Pit Viper comes in a variety of dark colors, from dark brown to black to, you guessed it, dark purple. They are snakes with dorsal scales, just like we see on Pythor in both is purple form and white bleached form. They are venomous, and have the same type of head shape. Their diets consist of lizards and, you guessed it, other snakes. One small issue, they aren’t very big. However, this can be easily fixed. How? Well, we can scale up our snake to Pythor’s size. Pythor is presumably twice the size of a normal human, so the average height of a human, 5’8, times 2 and bada-bing bada-boom, we find out that Pythor is a WHOPPING 11 feet, 4 inches! In the real world, he would be about the size of a… fairly small anaconda.
Never mind that. Not that impressive.
Regardless, we can use this information to size up all the factors we need; annual caloric intake, weight of Pythor, etc. In total, I’ve calculated that Pythor and, presumably his fellow Anacondrai, would weigh about 216 pounds, or 98 kilograms. Now, a snake needs to eat 500 calories a year, but remember, these are for average-sized snakes, about 10 pounds, or 4.5 kilograms. Sizing this up, Pythor needs about 10,800 calories a year. Now, this begs the question, how many calories are in this color-changing cannibalistic cobra? Well, on average, 100 grams of snake contains 93 calories, so one whole Anacondrai weighing 216 pounds equals out to 91,117.68 calories! That’s not it, fellow theorists, because Pythor has to much through 11 of these things! Multiplying that by 11, he would have to eat 1,002,294.48 calories! Meaning, if we divide this absurd number by 35, Pythor has 28,636.99 calories to eat per year! Over 2 times the amount needed to keep him alive!
So, is that it? He has all he needs to survive? Not. A. Chance. Y’see, I've glanced over one teeny tiny, itsy-bitsy detail needed to keep Pythor alive. Something every living being needs to survive; water. In the serpentine tombs, each tribe is locked into their tombs with food and water, but not the Anacondrai. No sirie! They are left to starve or dehydrate to death, whatever comes first. A snake can last about 7 months without water, but 2 years in extreme cases. Even if we QUADRUPLE the amount he could survive, he wouldn’t even survive a third of the 35 years he’s locked away. So unless the Anacondrai don’t need water to survive, Pythor and his fellow Anacondrai would have died off, just as the humans tried to do in the first place.
If only they can kill the Overlord like that
But hey, that’s just a theory. A Reddit Theory! Thanks for reading!

2023.03.23 20:06 OGCrOwn ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Maggie Lindemann

Welcome back to the Artist Spotlight! For those of you who've been around for a while, this was a semi-regular thing we used to do in the community to shine a light on new, up-coming artists or underrated artists! We've done them for Rich Brian, Scarlxrd, Lil Darkie, Yung Bans, and more. I'm not going to be bringing this back as a regular thing (unless y'all really want it), but I had a couple of artists I want to make some Spotlights on so I'll probably be making one or two more of these over the coming weeks! This one is going to be on Maggie Lindemann, an artist I'm actually a really huge fan of her and who I and a lot of other sub mods actually moderate her subreddit!

Who is she?: Maggie Lindemann is a pop-rock artist who originally started as an Instagram influencesinger that would post videos of her singing, much like Shiloh Dynasty. She exploded in popularity in 2016 when she was signed to 300 Entertainment, and released her single "Pretty Girl", which peaked at #50 on the charts and currently has over 800 million streams on Spotify. Being that she is insanely hot, she wrote the song due to feeling being dismissed for her true passion of making music just because she was attractive. She's often expressed dismay towards how popular the song got, and how much the label forced her into being a generic pop artist.

At some point in 2019, she broke off her label due to them forcing her to be a pop artist, despite her true passion of punk and rock music such as Evanescence, Sleeping With Sirens, and many more. She released her first single as an independent artist "Friends Go" featuring Travis Barker on the drums in early 2019. This marked the true reinvention of her career, where she completely and wholly pivoted from pop music to punk and rock music. She has since released two albums, PARANOIA in 2020 and SUCKERPUNCH in 2022, both of which have gone on to generate millions of streams and grow Maggie's popularity significantly. I think they're both nearly perfect classics, my favorite songs are "Loner", "Different", "i'm so lonely with you", and "how could you do this to me?". Her mix of punk, rock, metal, and even slight pop and hip-hop elements is incredibly one-of-a-kind and she's got a beautiful voice.

Maggie is actually a MASSIVE fan of X, she's been a fan longer than most of us actually have! Her very first tweet about X was way back in July 2016, and she's been talking about him and showing her love ever since, even going so far as to getting a "Depression & Obsession" tattoo. She's been very vocal about her love and support for X, X was actually her most streamed artist on Spotify Wrapped multiple years in a row. She has multiple tweets and Instagram stories singing along to his songs, showing love to Jen and Gek, the whole 9 yards, she's a true fan!

She's also long-time friends with John Cunningham! He actually helped write and produce her very first two songs, "Knocking on Your Heart" and "Couple of Kids" which came out in 2015, and has production credits on multiple songs on her PARANOIA album such as "Loner", and "Different"! They go wayyyy back, and are still friends to this very day. Her and John have known each other much longer than he's known X, and those two songs he helped write and produce with Maggie are some of his earliest work he's ever done! They were seen together recently shortly before the release of Maggie's SUCKERPUNCH album, he's also appeared in her "Obsessed" music video! X definitely knew about Maggie, and they might have even spoke together before!

FUN FACTS:
  1. She actually owns her own clothing brand called Swixxz, which is INCREDIBLY popular and is sold in every Zumiez store!
  2. She's currently dating famous NBA player Jordan Clarkson
  3. She has a feature with $NOT, called "Moon & Stars"

DEBATE STARTER QUESTIONS:
  1. Do you like the songs that her and John have worked together on?
  2. Do you think she'd be deserving of being a feature on future X music due to her connection to X and John and her constant support?
  3. Do you think it was a good move to pivot to pop-punk and embrace the style she loves, or do you think she was better as a pop artist?

“Well, that was certainly something,” Antoth remarked to himself as he looked over the sum of his people, who were obviously not ready to retire for the evening. Thanks to plentiful computational power aboard the ship, Io had not run into any snags synthesizing Cauthan language voice overs for The Princess Bride. Thantis had even gotten himself a cameo, his voice used for the role of the grandfather and narrator. Unfortunately for those interested in a quick dispersal, Io had forgotten to include any sort of disclaimer regarding the fictional nature of the tale, inducing a riot of discussion among the villagers. Ratha turned her nose up and wore a sour expression as even her hunters found themselves debating the best way to bring down an aggressive rodent of unusual size. The AI had a self-satisfied smile on her face as she approached the village leaders for feedback.
‘I’d say the movie was a hit. Did you like it?’ she wondered. Antoth spent some time gathering his thoughts, but Ratha shot from the hip as usual.
“This happily ever after business is nonsense. There were at least seven different opportunities where the pompous one could have permanently disposed of his rival. I suppose that idiocy is why he wound up where he did in the end though,” she said of the ignominious Prince Humperdinck. Antoth and Io shared a glance for the briefest of moments. The blonde haired woman smiled warmly.
‘I see the tale was quite captivating then.’
“It was. But there are other matters to attend to, as I may have mentioned earlier,” Antoth reminded her, looking up at the twin moons which shone brightly overhead. A leaden weight settled into his stomach as he contemplated a night sky without them. The Cauthan leader took a fortifying breath. “We are prepared to negotiate our departure from Mara. Please inform Natori at your earliest convenience. He has been mentioning more frequently that he feels the pressure of time.”
‘Oh I would not worry so much about that if I were you,’ Io told them with a wink, her green eyes reflecting a couple of the small fires scattered about the central plaza. ‘Certain circumstances have arisen that may lengthen our stay here, but that is no reason to delay talks. I have already notified the Admiral of your request. I assume you’d prefer for him to meet with you here?’
“I think that would be for the best,” Antoth agreed as Ratha remained alert but silent at his side. “There are notable items that Staroth and Nerazek wish to discuss. We must understand his vision on how we will be… acclimated to human society.”
Io nodded seriously and bowed to the two of them, doing her best to contain her excitement. ‘I understand. The-’
Antoth tilted his head questioningly as Io’s train of thought was derailed. “Spirit?”
She recovered quickly, however, and smiled at him. ‘There’s nothing to worry about. That was just Natori confirming that he would be happy to join you all first thing tomorrow morning, if it suits you.’
“The cub enjoys kicking me to the outhouse first thing in the morning,” Ratha grumbled. Io was happy to be deferential with someone else’s timetable.
‘Late morning it is! Should give everyone time to wake up and have breakfast at a minimum. I’ll just let the Admiral know that… hmm, that’s odd,’ Io said to herself, having suddenly lost connection to Natori’s personal device. While Ratha could have cared less, stalking over to her guildmates to oversee their conversation, the AI clarified for the sake of Antoth’s perpetually concerned visage. ‘It seems that the Admiral has entered an important and private meeting. I will be sure to confirm the time with him afterward.’
“That would be best, thank you,” the Cauthan replied before casting his gaze over his charges. “Looks like it’s going to be a long night. I hope not all of your… motion pictures are so captivating.”
Io chuckled as she crossed her arms under her bust, taking Antoth’s words as a compliment. ‘Oh just wait until they discover video games.’

“That is wonderful news, Admiral Kaczynski. When will the negotiations begin? I’ll need time to prepare my-”
“If I may be so rude, Emissary, I would ask you to kindly hold your proverbial horses,” the dark-skinned man requested of the horned alien, who had stood abruptly in his haste. Kaczynski gestured for Qul’Roth to take his seat once more, his expression passively polite. Even with the alien sitting on the floor, the two were approximately eye level.
“There are some among your species who would consider such jokes offensive, Admiral,” Qul’Roth noted. Kaczynski smiled.
“I think it’s clear that beyond the hooves you bear little resemblance to Earth’s equine species, but if you took offense I assure you none was intended.”
“Oh no, perish the thought,” Qul’Roth replied, more agitated at having been made to wait instead of any wordplay. “If anything, the hand wringing itself is more grating. We don’t look anything like horses.”
“It is an ancient tradition for humans to take offense on behalf of others and make problems where there are none,” Kaczynski explained humorously as he folded his hands together on the surface of the conference table. “But I do intend to risk your offense by stating in no uncertain terms that this negotiation will take place between myself, as a representative of humanity, and the Cauthan. The Ghaelen will not be a party to the proceedings. Though if there is anything you wish to mention now, I will be sure to take it into account.”
The more honest members of Alpha Division were happy to admit, in private, that one of the joys of intergalactic diplomacy was trying to watch a Ghaelen adapt to an unforeseen situation. Natori shared that particular view, and his voyage to retrieve the Lancer had provided no shortage of opportunities. He did feel a twinge of guilt as Qul’Roth composed himself. It was the older, most self-assured advocates of the Order who were truly entertaining when ‘out of water’. “I request an explanation, Admiral Kaczynski. We are discussing the induction of another species into the galactic community.”
“With all due respect, Emissary, we will have to disagree on that point,” Natori said, using an index finger to adjust his glasses. “These proceedings are a direct continuation of the treaty of mutual assistance and protection that was signed weeks ago between my people and the Cauthan.”
“That may be so, Admiral, but I don’t see how that contradicts my assertion, unless you intend to permanently quarantine them somewhere,” Qul’Roth insisted. Natori’s nostrils flared as he took in a strong breath.
“We have already discussed the Udanis IV pacification on this trip, Emissary. What say you about the manner in which the Gorgons were… ‘inducted’ into the galactic community?”
“Admiral Kaczynski, I understand that the Udanis incident was both an unfortunate and formative deployment in your career. You have my condolences, but I fail to see what it has to do with the situation at hand,” Qul’Roth replied politely. Natori shook his head.
“That is kind of you, but unnecessary. I would not be the man I am today were it not for witnessing our war with the Gorgons firsthand. Are you aware that we are opening an embassy on their planet?”
Natori again found himself savoring the sight of flat-footed Ghaelen. Qul’Roth checked the data disc that hung from his neck, eyes narrowing in disappointment as he discovered the corresponding information. “Why was I not informed of-”
“This information is… was classified up until a week or so ago. It’s unfortunate that we missed the official announcement. There are a few individuals whom I would have very much wanted to observe in their ‘live reaction’, so to speak. But duty called, as it were! Your High Council is no doubt aware of this development already.”
The Admiral stroked his chin thoughtfully as Qul’Roth seemed troubled by the news. The alien rubbed his antlers for a moment before adjusting his position on the floor of the conference room. “How can this be? Those primitives- er, Gorgons were irredeemably violent! Our diplomatic attempts were met with silence or outright hostility!”
“As were many of ours, and after brutal subjugation I might add,” Kaczynski replied, not wanting to rib the alien unnecessarily. “However, that did not stop us. A pair of incredibly brave individuals from both of our species sowed the seeds of this diplomatic fruit over a decade ago. I don’t blame your species for cutting your losses early on, but too many young men and women died on that moon, Emissary.”
“Yes well,” Qul’Roth began with uncertainty. “While we are most grateful for humanity’s sacrifices in resolving that dreadful conflict, I fail to see its relevance to the Cauthan question.”
“Are you familiar with the White Man’s Burden, Emissary?” Kaczynski asked instead, leaning forward over the table as he did so. The Ghaelen remained mute as he processed the non-sequitur. After consulting his data disc and skimming over a handful of notes he shook his head.
“My education on your species and its particularities doesn’t seem to have touched on this concept, Admiral. I assume it is-”
“I have my reasons, I assure you,” Natori cut in, assuming a less overbearing posture as he leaned back in his chair, crossed one leg over the other, and made slow, circular motions with his hand to help gather his thoughts. “Human history is, sadly, often defined by race and racism. It is an unfortunate but natural tendency of our minds’ desire to sort and categorize. For instance, there was an entire body of anthropological science dedicated to proving out the hypothesis that humans who look like me or my mother are biologically inferior to fairer skinned peoples, or even a different species altogether. I actually have a few of those manuscripts and documents in my possession back on Earth. Fascinating stuff, now that it’s been put behind us.”
“I…” Qul’Roth began, but Natori waved him off before pouring each of them a glass of water.
“This was not intended to make you feel uncomfortable, Emissary. It goes both ways as well, to be fair. My father was not initially accepted by certain portions of my mother’s community, and not all of them came around even after many years. That being said, these individuals were similar to the classmates I had to divest of the notion that they were related to Egyptian Pharaohs on account of their dark skin. You cannot imagine the looks on their faces when I told them they were more likely related to Ghengis Khan than Tutankhaman! I was… not very popular with them after that. But let us talk instead of the White Man and his Burden, as they called it. It was a convenient line of argumentation, a jump from the observation that European society had exceeded and surpassed many others on the planet to equating that success with the race of that civilization’s inhabitants. Once convinced of their own superiority, it was a foregone conclusion that it was incumbent upon them to spread their gifts to the lesser, darker races of the planet.”
“How barbaric!” Qul’Roth exclaimed. “And you said this line of thinking is only a couple hundred years old?”
“Rudyard Kipling, 1899,” Natori dictated, clearly having memorized the factoid. “And while I agree that it is a barbaric way of thinking, would the Philippines have been a founding member of the HEL without its history as an American colony? I wonder.”
“But surely you don’t mean to excuse-”
“No more than your species excuses its own atrocities in the name of progress, Emissary Qul’Roth,” Natori said calmly, his eyes narrowing. “I told you I had a point in all of this messy history.”
Gears turned behind Qul’Roth’s black eyes as he understood Kaczynski’s equation of his own species to imperialistic Europeans and Americans. “Admiral, you are out of line.”
“Oh? And you intend to put me back in my place?” he laughed. “Tell me, Emissary. What was it about humanity that caused your species to negotiate with us as you did? Were we special in some way, or just the first species you found capable of effectively shooting back?”
“That was before I was born, Admiral,” Qul’Roth replied carefully, his tone cold. Natori smiled.
“Indeed. First and foremost, Emissary, I am a human. Second, I am a scientist. In that spirit, please understand that what I am doing is not out of hatred for you, your people, or your Order. I intend an experiment, a trial, if you will, for the noble savage,” the man explained in broad terms. “Because I disagree with how our alliance has treated species it deems unfit for modern society.”
“Then what is it, exactly, that you intend to do?” the Ghaelen demanded reasonably. Again, Natori met him with a grin.
“I am not sure yet, Emissary. But I can tell you what I intend not to do. I will not impose upon them tenants of your Order as a condition for safe passage to Earth. They will be expected to not endanger themselves, my crew, or this ship, but otherwise I intend to allow them to live as freely as they would like. They will be offered education, job training, and employment, but it will not be mandated. Given the size of their population and the aforementioned issues with their remaining on Mara, I’m sure this will not be too great of an imposition on you?”
“What is that saying among your people, Admiral? It’s the principle of the matter?” the alien suggested. “Your executive decision to exclude my people outright from this matter is inappropriate at best.”
Natori raised his water glass slowly to his lips, taking only enough to wet his throat. The glass made the lightest of noises upon its return to the table before the Admiral presented his perspective on the matter. “Emissary, if I were excluding your people and their interests from this matter then I would be making arrangements for the villagers to remain here along with a portion of my crew, in the interests of establishing a human science colony on this planet. I have already seen and experienced enough in our brief time here to suggest that, were it not for the restraints imposed upon both of our species by what I consider to be generally prudent first contact protocols, this course of action is the only suitable one. Out of deference to our alliance, however, and consideration for the other Cauthan populations on the planet, I am willing to leave that decision up the HEL and your High Council. I will not, however, compromise the treatment of the village that gave aid and succor to our lone survivor, despite having barely anything beyond what they need to survive themselves. It is the duty of humanity to reward that kindness.”
The two men were interrupted by a knock on the metal door to the well ‘fortified’ meeting room. Thanks to the various surveillance countermeasures in place, Natori was required to stand and walk over to the door. Once there, he used the lock panel to verify the identity of their guest. “Thank you for taking time away from your charges to deliver this,” he said to Antia, accepting a bowl of greens and a coffee from her. “I will be sure to note that delivering me a coffee is above and beyond your job description.”
It was difficult to miss the fact that Kaczynski was meeting alone with Qul’Roth, verified by Anita simply leaning to the side and observing the contents of the meeting room. “Um… it’s no problem, sir. Is something-”
“All will be revealed when appropriate, Engineer Prakash. Don’t ask how the sausage is made, as they say, hmm?” he advised, sending her politely on her way before returning to his discussion with the Ghaelen emissary. “A little something for each of us?”
“I would have expected you to bribe me before explaining your plans for unilateral action on the Cauthan issue, Admiral,” Qul’Roth stated curiously, though that did not stop him from sampling the fare before him. Natori just turned a smile and leaned back in his seat.
“That’s because it’s not a bribe, Emissary. It is, however, late in the evening and I did not want to rush you out the door,” the man explained. The alien chewed thoughtfully for a moment before replying.
“I would like to think that I’ve learned better than to contest you directly when you set yourself on a course of action, Admiral Kaczynski, though you should have no doubt that my superiors will hear of this unilateral decision making of yours. This is not what our species agreed upon at the outset of this project. That being said, I have rarely heard you speak with such conviction as now. So let us set aside this Cauthan question in favor of your comments about Mara and a human colonial presence here. What makes you so certain, Admiral?”
“Was the ancient, advanced, alien technologies tampering with the warp point and altering space-time itself not enough?” the man replied incredulously. The Ghaelen held up a hand as he chewed thoughtfully, only speaking once finished.
“My understanding of the situation is that installations were found all over this system, including one on one of the moons of this planet. Surely those could be studied instead?” he proposed. Natori allowed the point.
“While scientific exploration on a habitable world is easier, I concede your point with regards to minimizing our impact on the planet and its inhabitants. That being said, Emissary, such an approach would paint an incomplete picture. The alien system, presumably active for millions of years, ended its operations and engaged in a controlled self-destruct sequence in response to a Cauthan. We believe the keyword was their god of death, Kel. If that was an accident, it was a one in a billion event.”
Qul’Roth straightened his back as he stroked the long tuft of hair that grew from his chin. His antlers almost scraped the ceiling of the human-sized room. “I must have missed that tidbit of information, Admiral.”
“That’s because it’s not publicly available, Emissary, and the soldiers there at the time have been made to understand that this subject is highly classified, at least for the time being. I hope you understand the implications of my sharing this with you here and now,” Natori elaborated before opening the leather-bound folder he often carried with him. A single piece of paper was slid across the table for Qul’Roth’s perusal. He took it between his fingers and read the title.
“This is… from the team that was ambushed by the ursae, yes? Dreadful affair that was. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt such visceral terror before!”
“Exactly,” Natori said, providing some context as Qul’Roth read the small, official, typeset text. “The plate tectonics of this continent are similar to those found on Earth near the Himalayas. This makes the central ranges, especially the older one to the east, of particular interest in examining the geological record of this planet.”
“Indeed,” the Ghaelen nodded, checking for himself to ensure he understood the proper meaning of the scientific term. “And what exactly was this team looking for in… this can’t be right.”
“Oh? And why not?” Natori wondered with childlike glee. “We’ve already found a nuclear powered endoskeleton and a formerly functioning robot. Why not nuclear war?”
“But there is no… I see,” the Ghaelen suddenly realized, raising his head from the paper and leaning forward. “You would stay behind and search for these clues. Have you found any corroborating readings at other sites? Ruled out natural causes such as volcanism or meteorite impact?”
“My dear Emissary, now you are beginning to sound like a crew member of the Event Horizon!” Natori complimented the alien, who responded with an indignant noise from within the hollow cavities of his skull. “We are still waiting for analysis of the samples gathered by other teams, and I ask you to keep in mind that the initial wave of geological sampling was intended to probe several locations as well as several eras in this planet’s geological history. With this sort of reading confirmed, we will be able to narrow our future searches.”
“Mmm, yes. I understand. I was not trained as a geologist though,” Qul’Roth explained before handing the paper back to the Admiral. “This report is quite confident in its conclusions.”
“Cobalt, Barium, Americium… you don’t see those elements in those isotopes following meteorite impact or volcanic eruption, Emissary. I have requested that Io forward the relevant literature to your device for review in your spare time. We will do our best to confirm this result before our departure.”
“Yes, yes indeed. If this is the case that village is most certainly an afterthought. Perhaps even the entire population? No matter, I will not be able to resolve this issue today,” Qul’Roth concluded after a moment of mumbling. “I do not know whether to call this serendipity or the worst of luck, Admiral. For the sake of the Order, I urge you to devote all available resources to answering this question.”
“You need not invoke the Order in this case, Emissary. I assure you that we will do all within our power,” Natori promised earnestly. The man paused for a moment, tilting his head towards the ceiling with his mouth slightly open, as though a thought were on the cusp of crystallization.
“Is there something the matter, Admiral Kaczynski?” Qul’Roth asked formally. The man returned to a relaxed posture and shook his head.
“No, thank you Emissary. I was just wondering if you might check your own species’ records for data on this system. It could be anything from anomalous light readings to scout ships gone missing, as with the Lancer. I hope we can both agree that while the possibility of a nuclear war on this planet is distressing and headline catching, the true question is who was able to seal the system off from the rest of the galaxy, and why did they do it? No matter what our subsequent geological surveys return, that question will remain outstanding.”
Qul’Roth looked down at his shimmering data disc as he chewed a green leaf between his molars. “We have deviated significantly from the original topic of conversation, Admiral. But I think this has been productive nonetheless. In the spirit of cooperation and discovery, valued as they are by the Order, I will immediately consult the records I have access to. I do not want to over promise, however. Even with this ship’s significant data storage capabilities, a preponderance of our species’ records relating to galactic exploration remain on Ghaela. Your people follow the same principle, no?”
“To an extent,” Natori agreed. “Though in our defense I would describe it more as information filtering. The vast majority of scouting data is released to the public promptly, though I know as well as anyone that some remains classified. That will likely be the case with much of what we have seen here, reminding me that I have a most difficult situation to attend to before we reach Earth once more. I am discussing paperwork, Emissary.”
“Oh, thank goodness. I was worried there would be yet another unexpected twist to this already stressful dialog,” the Ghaelen almost laughed with relief. “I presume you’re speaking of the need to bind members of your civilian crew to non-disclosure agreements?”
“And the Cauthan,” Natori agreed with a chuckle of his own. Qul’Roth cleared his throat and pushed off his hind legs to assume an upright, if hunched position.
“As you requested, I will leave those details to you, Admiral Kaczynski. I will instead return this bowl to the good engineer in hydroponics so as to deliver my thanks in person. I am sure we will speak again shortly. May our actions serve to uphold the Order.”
“And a good evening to you as well,” Natori allowed the alien to depart the conference room, effectively terminating the various countermeasures in effect. Left alone, he placed his feet on the table, propped his elbow on the arm of his chair, and rested his chin against his knuckles. “I suppose I did deserve that little jab about the Cauthan situation. He’s become wittier over the last year or so.”
The Admiral glanced out of the corner of his eye as a familiar form shimmered to life and looked around the space before finally focusing on him. ‘Ah, there you are. I’ve been looking all over for you. With an expression like that you seem to be missing a stiff drink at your side, Natori.’
“I think we both know you could have taken down the countermeasures if you had really wanted to, Io,” the man responded. She crossed her arms.
‘I have lived my entire true life in a village where privacy is basically non-existent. I know the meaning of a do not disturb sign when I see one. But you give your engineers too little credit, Natori. Even I am not exactly sure what would have happened if I had tried to brute force my way in here. Well, I know what’s supposed to happen, but not if I were to defend myself. Given you were not in any appreciable danger I chose not to. Who were you conversing with so secretly?’ she wondered, pulling up a gilded table, seating herself in a plush, Victorian armchair, and pouring herself a glass of blood red wine. ‘The Princess Bride was a smash hit, by the way.’
“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father… prepare to die,” Natori quoted with admirable gusto but a less than perfect accent. “He was always my favorite, the man dead set on revenge who manages to achieve it without letting it consume and warp him. Do you have a moment?”
Io looked down at her comfortable setup, having even donned a pair of outrageously fluffy slippers that looked like stuffed hyrven. ‘My alternative engagement for the evening is watching a shirtless hunk of a man snuggle with his naked and now quite rotund wife. And while I never tire of watching true love play out between them, it has gotten decidedly less intense since Veera came down with a case of babies. The rubbing of fluffy tummies and gentle, unobtrusive, lovemaking just doesn’t get my circuits overheated the same way as when they were fumbling around and biting each other like horny teenagers.’
Natori’s head quickly returned to his hand, downing the last of his coffee and finding it lukewarm. “Is there anyone in particular I should blame for your voyeuristic subroutines?”
‘The aforementioned lack of privacy and a dead engineer with a penchant for maids,’ Io explained before turning the conversation on a dime while crossing her legs above the knee. ‘Was it the Emissary you were speaking to here?’
“It was indeed, and I may have dug myself into a bit of a hole out of pride,” Natori admitted, looking away from her for a moment.
‘Shall I bring my body over from the hangars? This sounds like it might be a long conversation,’ the AI deduced. The Admiral nodded, turning his chair to face her fully and returning his feet to the floor.
“An updated copy of the ship’s status report and another cup of coffee would be much appreciated as well,” he added. Io conjured a stack of paper and ‘flicked’ it at him, its arrival heralded by a small ping from his device.
‘The coffee will take a little longer,’ she explained the obvious, content to watch quietly as Natori’s eyes skimmed line after line of ‘all clear’ and the occasional ‘within acceptable parameters’.
“I won’t hold it against you,” he promised before setting aside the piece of technology and looking directly at her. “And it would seem that I still have some time to speak.”
‘Yes, you mentioned a hole you’ve been digging?’ Io probed pointedly, receiving an abridged version of the conversation the Admiral had undertaken with Qul’Roth. ‘I see. Well, I can hardly fault you for wanting the Ghaelen out of the picture, not that I think any of the villagers will find the Order particularly compelling. I do feel the need to point out that race was, in all likelihood, a convenient excuse for the equally basic human penchant for territorial expansion and empire.’
“Perhaps,” Natori agreed, pushing his chin up and to the side with a hand in an attempt to crack his neck after sitting still for too long. “Not that that sort of historical nuance would well persuade those for whom race still matters today. Some make it difficult to forget.”
‘And I’m sure Qul’Roth absolutely appreciated the completely accurate comparison,’ Io guessed with a smug expression. ‘So that’s what you wanted me to help you with? Come up with a plan to elevate the Cauthan technologically without enlightening them morally? Do you have any idea how irresponsible that sounds, Natori? I’m sure the Aztecs would have made incredible discoveries in the field of astronomy alongside industrializing the institution of human sacrifice if you suddenly pulled them forward two thousand years.’
Natori blinked twice, opening his mouth to reply only to find that Io had vanished. “Scolded by an AI, on matters of morality no less?”
‘And I’m sure you’re positively giddy about it,’ came Io’s true voice as she entered the room in the biomechanical flesh, depositing another steaming cup of coffee in front of the man.
“Quivering in my seat,” he chuckled, bringing the coffee to his lips and inhaling deeply before taking a sip that almost burned his tongue. “And you’ve taken to wearing perfume, it would seem?”
‘Oh shut it, you,’ Io glared at him as she settled into a seat. ‘I was surrounded by cooking fires all night.’
“Well I find the combination to be mildly intoxicating, as though your beauty were not enough. You don’t get much wood smoke on a starship. But we have bigger fish to fry, do we not?” he pointed out, assuming a more neutral sitting position and sterner expression. Io nodded curtly.
‘Flatterer; but you should start, Natori. Was I mistaken in my diagnosis, or is that really what you were planning?’ the AI wondered, her tone more curious than accusatory.
The Admiral shrugged. “I’m not sure I would go that far, but I did insist that we humans would handle the issue of Cauthan uplift, nor was I particularly subtle about it. I believe I implied that it was necessitated, in part, as reciprocation for taking care of you and the First Lieutenant. Am I mistaken in my opinion of them?”
Io’s expression softened as she prepared to show him a short video using her built-in palm projector. ‘No Natori, I don’t think you are. But I think you are focusing too heavily on the ones you know personally, Antoth and Ratha, Nerazek and Gentia and Thantis. Your opinion of the Cauthan is based primarily on those among them whose passions are tempered by the burden of leadership. You spoke of race and racism with the Emissary? The Cauthan are just as capable of racism as man. Watch.’
Natori did just that, leaning over the table and observing almost unblinkingly a recording that Io had saved from their very first day within the walls of the village, the day when a starved, outcast Veera was slated to be tortured for the crime of ‘aiding and abetting’ a servant of Kel. With the benefit of time and hindsight, it was easy for Io to translate a good deal of the ambient chatter from the audio. Natori placed a hand over his face, covering his left eye and half of his forehead. “I see,” he mumbled sourly. “So I was blind, then?”
Instead of answering directly, Io reached across the quarter of the table that they sat at to take his unoccupied hand in hers. She gave him a gentle squeeze before retreating. ‘Udanis was hard on you, wasn’t it?’
“No harder than it was on the soldiers who fought and died in that hellscape, nor the Gorgons who saw their world unjustly invaded in the name of peace,” the Admiral insisted. Io scoffed.
‘Foolish human, that wasn’t what I asked,’ she pointed out, throwing him a quick smirk as he perked up at her choice to refer to him by his species. ‘You did what President Truman did, Natori. You and the rest of Delta aboard the Resplendent Dawn’s fleet took the fight directly to the leaders of each faction as best you could. You killed many, and likely saved more than that number. At least that’s what the after-action projections show. Do you really believe Admiral Friedrich would have ordered a genocide of the Gorgons had the Ghaelen ordered it?’
Natori looked at Io with wide eyes before breaking into a tired laugh, full of complicated memories. “That stubborn old German? He would have destroyed all communication buoys in the system and then ordered all guns turned on the Ghaelen. And when word eventually reached the Ghaelen homeworld… he probably would have led our strike force.”
‘And there is your answer, Natori,’ Io assured him. ‘Do not think the Cauthan unimpeachable because of their idyllic, pristine existence. Have more faith in your species.’
Kaczynski leaned back in his chair and shook his head slowly, unable to believe what he was hearing. “How the hell can you be so sure, Io?”
‘You mean other than behavior modeling and more than a year of hands-on experience with the Cauthan? I used to be a tool, Natori. The Order would approve, no doubt. Now I am free, which should strike terror into the tiny part of your lizard brain that still values threat avoidance… but I was guided by a good man, and a good woman. The Cauthan need that now, just as the Gorgons did. Civilization, morality, and technology go hand in hand. I honestly don’t quite understand how humanity managed the technological jump without immediately killing one another en masse, but here we are!’
“It certainly wasn’t due to a moral uplifting from the Ghaelen,” Natori replied, feeling the weight of a population settling on his shoulders. His brow furrowed. “But I am in no place to be what you think I should be.”
‘And maybe I would agree if I accessed Dr. Lamont’s notes on you, but that’s neither here nor there,’ Io insisted. ‘Natori, you have two of Marshall and Sandra Winters' children on this ship. You have the good Doctors Dupuis, Anita, Darius, Lance Corporal Mendes, and so many others, many of whom you hand selected for this mission. You need only impress upon them the weight of the historical moment that seems to be upon us; or the negotiations could go south tomorrow and we can leave without them!’
The Admiral’s head bobbed lightly as he held in another chuckle. He looked at Io with sincerity, returning at last to his coffee. “Then I believe we should discuss any and everything you think will be brought up tomorrow morning. I’ve had a long and winding career, but I refuse to fail at a boast made to a Ghaelen. It is long past time that humanity has its chance to demonstrate proper uplift protocols.”

2023.03.23 19:59 Advanced_Falcon_2816 The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs).

AI Tokens are all the rage as the next big thing in crypto and it was inevitable that someone would combine an AI with the Inverse Cramer Meme.
"The Inverse Cramer Token (ICT) combines state of the art AI technology and the Inverse Cramer Meme by monitoring and inversing: Cramer's Twitter, Mad Money TV airings and any other appearances made by the TV personality, in real time. By staking your ICT you are eligible to earn yield from the profit that the AI makes inversing Cramer. Only stakers are eligible for a split of the yield paid daily, and it will be divided proportionally to the amount of ICT that is staked. In the incredibly unlikely event the AI loses money on the day, no yield will be paid to ICT stakers."
From the Developers
The ICT token launched last year as an ERC-20 token on Polygon with a supply of 100M tokens and has been steadily growing in popularity due to increasing success and awareness of the inversing Cramer meme.
CryptoCurrency - The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs). At it's peak it was the 10th largest AI or Big Data crypto and the 334th largest crypto according to CoinMarketCap, shortly before losing 94% of it's value over the course of the day.
CryptoCurrency - The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs). According to developers the AI became unresponsive when it encountered one of Cramers Tweets that triggered the inverse parameters to be simultaneously bullish and bearish against BTC at the same time. When the developers attempted to force restart the AI, they discovered the AI had become corrupted and all data would be lost.
CryptoCurrency - The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs). Immediately after word broke that the AI behind ICT was corrupted, the price of ICT went through a series of crashes and currently sits 94% down over the last day.
CryptoCurrency - The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs). This should be the end of the story but an ICT whale checking the Polygon Explorer saw that the team behind ICT sent 40M ICT tokens, 40% of the supply to the Binance14 Hot Wallet around the same time they made the announcement, and the same time the price started dumping.
CryptoCurrency - The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs). You can see that transactions here. It shows 40M ICT being transferred to the Binance14 Hot wallet that coincides with the time ICT started to go through repeated drops in price.
CryptoCurrency - The Artificial Intelligence Token, "Inverse Cramer Token" is down 94% after the AI that supports the crypto becomes Corrupted and developers are unable to restore it (potential rugpull by devs). Without knowing for sure what was done with the tokens that were transferred to Binance it's hard to believe this isn't fraud and the "AI becoming corrupt" is just an elaborate cover - especially after the price dropped 94% in a day following the transfer of those tokens to the Binance hot wallet.
If anything this should be a lesson for everyone, not to blindly buy into the hype of buzzwords like "Artificial Intelligence". Crypto is incredibly risky and when you invest in small cap and experimental assets it becomes significantly more risky.
Please stay safe out there when investing and my sympathies to everyone who held ICT. I hope you get answers soon.

2023.03.23 19:57 heymomlookatme Beta impressions from a super lucky Silver 3

Based on a lot of the posts/comments on here, it sounds like I got super lucky and got a beta invite for CS2. I generally play 2-3 short matches a day, but I am not good and probably won't get much better. That being said, the beta is amazing. Within a few matches, I wasn't even noticing the graphical upgrades; it just felt like Counterstrike and it felt awesome. I love the new smokes. I got a peaking kill through one b/c I threw an HE in it and it gave me the biggest shit-eating grin of my life. The ability to adjust sound levels more granularly is great. You can change the bomb explosion volume. It's a great feature for those deafening sounds. Speaking of sound. The guns sound fantastic as well as impact sounds. I am thinking in particular of when you shoot glass. Everything sounds crisper and voicechat is super clear as well. The shooting feels the same from my perspective, but I am sure the tick-rate is a way bigger deal for people better than me. Overall I am having a great time and look forward to the full release this summer.
Edit: Forgot to mention that movement feels fantastic. You can keep momentum much more when jumping from platform to platform or off of other players.

2023.03.23 19:48 FineCreator Anyone have any ideas as to why I might be having issues with logics compressors causing peaks in my audio after being bounced in place?!

The peaks are coming from words that I'm not even saying loud at all? It's weird. It sounds fine when I listen to the original track with the compression and everything. Then when I finish compressing and then bounce it in place to a new track there are peaks that just were not taken care of, and I don't want to use a limiter on the track, because that doesn't seem to be a thing that people really do normally? I've mostly seen people use a compressor or two compressors on one track, and then a limiter on the stereo output.
I asked ChatGPT last night just for the hell of it, and it told me this, and I'm not sure if it's an accurate response, but it was interesting. I tried taking it's advice but issue is persisting with the peaks.
Me: "If I record an audio narration with -6db of headroom, what would cause the compressor to make certain words in the audio to peak loud after being bounced, even though the said certain words didn’t say anything loud?"
ChatGPT: "If you recorded an audio narration with -6dB of headroom and you're experiencing certain words peaking loud after bouncing the audio, it's possible that you have set the compressor settings too aggressively, causing it to amplify certain parts of the audio more than others.
For example, if the compressor is set with a fast attack time and a high ratio, it may clamp down on certain words or phrases that have a sudden increase in volume, like a "p" or "b" sound in a word, causing them to sound louder than the rest of the narration. Additionally, if the release time is too slow, it may cause the compressor to continue to reduce the level of the audio even after the loud word has passed, creating a dip in the overall level and making the following words sound quieter in comparison."
I've set the attack to short 5m, 10m, 15m, 50m, even tried 170m still the same result. same for the release. I've tried different compression settings as well. I just don't know what the issue is. It's ridiculous!
Here is a screenshot, please examine, look compare to the very top tack which is the original, after adding compression and then bouncing, the following 5 tracks are the results after different settings:
Ignore the purple track as that is the background music track. Focus on the very first (original track), and the following five.

2023.03.23 19:20 AppropriateRegular51 Help finding Office BL comic

So I’m looking for this love story about a boss and his assistant who would devotedly deliver food and look after him. The assistant was gossiped about by his coworkers because he was always at his boss’s beck and call.
I think there was a plot about the boss getting sick from burnout? And one about him being transferred to another company. There might have been an ex wife squeezed into the story but I am not 100% sure. I can’t seem to remember much else.
The main characters were both older men. The assistant had glasses and short hair (might’ve been blonde), while the boss had black hair, was unshaven, more scraggly and mature looking. The assistant had a robotic and stoic personality while the boss was hardworking but good natured and friendly.
It was a feel good story with a completed ending. I’ve been looking all over for it.

2023.03.23 19:15 obwblue1 Miller Lites it Up: The UnendingRebuild's Top 18 Rookie RB Class Review

Welcome to the final iteration of the Unending Rebuild podcast's 2023 rookie running back review. Thanks to all who have read these posts and listened along as we continue to watch the film and publish our thoughts. We will be right back at it next week but this time, we will be doing receivers.
On this final episode, we began by discussing two final RBs, Eric Gray and Evan Hull and then get right into building our consensus RB rankings as a podcast. Below, you will find our review of Gray and Hull, alongside of all of our previous reviews posted here over the past few weeks. To hear our consensus rankings, check out our podcast here to listen to debate our own individual rankings to build consensus.
We'd love to hear your top 5 RBs so drop them below to start some discussion!
And now for the player review.
Eric Gray (Oklahoma):
  1. Projected Draft Capital: Day 3
  2. BMI: 29.7, very solid
  3. Pass blocking: A very solid blocker, expresses a strong willingness to meet oncoming rushers and with his size he can make some good plays. No reason for it to keep him off the field.
  4. Pass catching: 87th percentile target share. Was a surprisingly solid route runner who displays soft hands. Oklahoma's QB was really not very good but Gray made the best of it getting some nice catches and displaying great quickness after the catch.
  5. Situation: Would love to see him be a handcuff to a star runningback. He has a three-down skillset and justtttt has enough size. Perhaps to a team with an aging vet would be a good fit. Would not be surprised to eventually see him as a starter one day.
  6. Running ability: Very quick in the open field. He exhibits a shifty jump cut and has a killer spin move. His ability to read the line can improve a bit. Sometimes, he expresses great patience and hits the hole, other times he takes it out wide way too quickly. Not elite breakaway speed but solid.
Eric Gray is a former top 100 recruit who initially committed to Tennesee, where his career did not exactly take off beyond some solid receiving work before transferring to Oklahoma. However, he produced at a great clip his senior year on a relatively poor Oklahoma team, running for nearly 1400 yards and getting 33 catches. I honestly did not know much at all about Gray going into this review. We all came away very pleasantly surprised. He's not elite, but he can really do it all. To me, there is not a significant weakness to his game and he expresses some crazy ability to lose defenders in the open field. There is now an Eric Gray fan club with I as it's founding member. Buy stock. Our consensus RB 11 (which in class is pretty good). Get him with your late round picks.
Evan Hull (Northwestern):
  1. Projected Draft Capital: Day 3
  2. BMI: 30, lovely stuff
  3. Pass blocking: Below average, will not be drafted for this ability but he could develop it with his size. He projects as a pass-catching back so this is not the best shortcoming from him.
  4. Pass catching: His best ability. Hull featured heavily in Northwestern's really bad passing game. Last year, he had a huge 97 percentile target share with 55 receptions. He is not electric in the open space but does have good hands.
  5. Situation: Likely as a third-down pass-catching back at his peak. His one-dimensional running downhill style will work on third and long draws too.
  6. Running ability: Look, Hull is fast. He got on people's radars running a 4.47 in the 40 at the combine. But it takes more than just being fast to be a good runner in the NFL. His issue is quickness. His running is more plodding than graceful. He struggles to cut to beat defenders in the open field or in between the tackles.
Generally, we did not like Evan Hull too much. He has some things going for him for sure, his 40 time, size and pass-catching are not things you see every day. That said, we think his pass-catching numbers are inflated by his situation at Northwestern. They had few other options to pass the ball to. I mean they went 1-11 for a reason. We think he will be very limited by his lack of quickness in the NFL. And I wanted to like him going into the film too. He feels like a fun sleeper to dream of given his measurables. I hope he proves me wrong though, you could tell how hard of a worker he was during the combine. I will not be drafting him as of now. Our RB 17 of 18.
Read below for the rest of our player reviews (in no particular order). Make sure to listen here for the full consensus rankings
Bijan Robinson-
  1. Draft capital- Likely mid to late first
  2. Size: BMI 29.8. Lovely stuff
  3. Pass blocking: Not always the most eager pass blocker, but has the size and traits to be serviceable to keep him on the field.
  4. Pass catching: 77th percentile target share, has decent hands and some variety to his route tree. What matters is his explosion up the field in open space. Definitely fit to be a three-down player.
  5. Situation: TBD
  6. Running ability: Incredible burst through the hole, no one that big should move that quickly. Also runs with power and can destroy tacklers. Good but not amazing top end speed. If there are any cons we noticed, he can be a littttle indecisive hitting the hole and can sometimes get into trouble
A great prospect, do not overthink it. But, if you can in a SF league, try to shop that 1.01 around for a top QB. See what happens, you never know. QBs are king.
Jahmyr Gibbs:
  1. Draft capital: Likely Day 2
  2. Size: BMI: 27.9: Not great but not insurmountable. Would hope to see that improve with the combine measurements
  3. Pass blocking: Not the best blocker right now, will miss some reads but is so often used in the receiving game it can be tough to notice. His limited size does not help in this regard.
  4. Pass catching: 93rd percentile target share. Absolutely elite, looked like Young's primary target for large chunks at a time. Route running, hands, and YAC ability are all there. This is his game.
  5. Situation TBD:
  6. Running ability: He is a bit small and plays a bit small, he does not have the best contact balance. Would be a bit worried to see how that translates to the NFL level in between the tackles. But, in the open field, he's pretty quick and will make guys miss. Great burst and top end speed.
We were honestly a little underwhelmed after watching this game film. We expected more from the general industry consensus clear-cut second best running back in this class and he leaves a little bit to be desired for a player that you have to use significant draft capital on.
Zach Charbonnet:
  1. Draft capital: Toward the back half of day 2
  2. Size: BMI: 29
  3. Pass blocking: A very willing blocker, his height and weight help him throw big hits at defenders. Something scouts will like.
  4. Pass catching: Now this one surprised us. ZC had 37 receptions last year, good for a 93rd percentile target share. And no, not all of these catches are easy! He has good, reliable hands and can run some more intricate routes. Not every day does a player with his size feature this skillset.
  5. Situation: TBD
  6. Running ability: He is a big dude and plays like it. He can lower the boom on guys. He runs heavy which impacts his top-end speed (I expect around a 4.55 40) but he can be decently quick on his feet in open space. He loves hitting tacklers with force to get a few more yards. Runs a bit too straight up which is not great.
Overall, we all love Charbonnet. He hits each of the qualifications laid out so far. If he can get good day 2 capital, and especially if he runs better than a 4.55, place him higher up on your player boards.
Devon Achane:
  1. Draft capital: Toward the back half of day 2
  2. Size: BMI: 27.3, small. This will be a theme throughout his review.
  3. Pass blocking: He is a decent blocker, the willingness is there. But again, size will be an issue in matchups with linebackers and line.
  4. Pass catching: Achane is very valuable here. His natural catching ability isn't elite but is very serviceable. Where he is dangerous is in the open space, and he finds it a lot with his incredibly shifty route running.
  5. Situation: TBD
  6. Running ability: Again, he is small, but he is so incredibly fast. Incredibly fast. I would expect him to run between 4.25 or 4.29 in the 40. It'll be appointment TV to watch him run. To go along with that, he is also very quick in the open space. He provides amazing acceleration through the gaps. But again, he is much smaller than the typical NFL running back.
As a podcast, we are a bit torn on how to evaluate Achane. While he is very very fast, his size is an issue. But if there is anyone to replicate Tarik Cohen's RB12 season, it would be him. He needs a role built for him, which is oftentimes not music to dynasty manager's ears
DeWayne McBride (UAB)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital- late day 2, early day 3
  2. Size- BMI: 30, love that
  3. Pass blocking: Hardly asked to pass block or play the role of a third-down back. It's hard to say how good he is at it with little film to demonstrate his capability, but it seems he can make plenty of improvement.
  4. Pass catching: 8th percentile target share. Hardly, hardly caught balls or was targeted in college. Only has 5 catches in his college career. I wouldn't say he can't catch, this was mostly scheme related. You really do not know what his pass-catching chops are because he never did it. His backup did have 19 catches last year, so they do throw to RBs at times.
  5. Situation: You would love for him to be drafted to a team with a zone running scheme so he can be a thumper on early downs and hit the holes quickly.
  6. Running ability: He seems to have the tools to be an early down back in the NFL. Evaluating his film, you love his ability in between the tackles. He hits the hole with patience and burst, and can cut quickly in traffic to make something out of nothing.
What you like about DeWayne McBride is his college production. He was the second-leading rusher in football last year with over 1,700 yards. Also, his size profiles perfectly to the NFL. He will get you solid gains on the ground but lacks breakaway speed. That said, it is difficult to project him as a player who gets consistent snaps in passing situations, limiting his fantasy value. He also has some fumbling issues, fumbling 11 times the last 2 seasons. Will be a solid NFL player but likely underwhelming in fantasy. Furthermore, McBride will be out of the combine with a hamstring injury. Seeing what he could do in the passing drills would've been very telling. This will likely limit his draft capital.
Kendre Miller (TCU)-
  1. Projected Draft Draft Capital- Day 2
  2. Size- BMI: 29. Toward the lower end of the ideal range. We think he may even be heavier than listed, would expect this to go up.
  3. Pass blocking: A very capable pass blocker, not amazing but certainly a strength.
  4. Pass catching: 33rd percentile target share. Similar to his pass blocking, he is not a prolific receiver, but he can certainly do the job. He is very quick in open space and can make the big play if given the chance. Gives me additional hope for improved involvement in the passing game.
  5. Situation: If he can get drafted to a team with a below-average RB room, he could takeover and be the guy there.
  6. Running ability: My first thought when watching Miller is that this guy is an aggressive violent runner. I love his style, he is always driving forward and landing on top of his tacklers to get an extra yard. But, unlike a lot of "violent runners" he is also light on his feet and can make something out of nothing.
We love Miller. I think he and Tucker are the best running backs out of these four. He seems like he can bring everything you would for to the table. A bully running style with decent hands and the ability to make big plays in unexpected circumstances. Getting him in the late first or early second of your rookie drafts gives you a real chance of getting a three-down back. Another thing to be considered is that his presence in part led to Zach Evans being transferred to Ole Miss.
Tyjae Spears (Tulane)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital: Early Day 3
  2. Size: BMI: 30.1 as per Senior Bowl measurements. He was listed as 195 in college, very nice to hear he could put on more weight to become 204. Still small but his high BMI helps him.
  3. Pass blocking: A willing blocker who works hard, he can struggle to maintain his blocks with his size but is capable.
  4. Pass catching: 66th percentile target share. Not the softest hands but is still capable in the passing game. His deficiencies are compensated for by his incredible quickness in open spaces.
  5. Situation: We think the most likely scenario for Spears will be as a third-down back for an NFL team. But, we think he possesses some star power attributes that could propel him into a true starting role. Going to a team like the Chargers as an Ekeler backup and perhaps eventual replacement would be a good fit.
  6. Running ability: Man is he slippery. He always seems to find a way to escape and make a big play. He sets up his blockers in open space very intelligently. He has great burst hitting the hole and has decent contact balance getting through it.
We love the idea of Spears. Being the star of nonpowerhouse team is always fun to watch and root for. And we appreciate how he bore the weight of Tulane's offense on his shoulders and excelled doing it. The fact that he went for 200 yards and 4 tds against USC proves shows his tenacity. We just have our doubts that this can translate to the NFL. He did star at the Senior Bowl, but can he maintain this production with his stature at the NFL level? He would be an outlier. I would think his likely career path is Michael Carter-esque.
Sean Tucker (Syracuse)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital: Late Day 2, early day 3.
  2. Size- BMI: 30.1. Nice weight at 210 lbs.
  3. Pass blocking: Decent but needs room for improvement. Not a strength but not a weakness.
  4. Pass catching: 95th percentile target share. More than capable pass catcher, had 36 receptions last year. Good route runner and has solid hands. Coupling that with his explosive speed he is very capable.
  5. Situation: Anywhere Tucker goes he will compete for snaps immediately, he should win many of those reps with his ability to play all three downs. Would be great in Miami in my mind.
  6. Running ability: Tucker is big and fast and he knows how to use it. He can set up his blocks and burst through the hole. I thought he maybe got some happy feet making decisions while cutting at times but perhaps I am being critical.
We love Tucker. There is a real chance he runs a 4.3 being a star track athlete. How often does a running back with his size, that could run that speed, that broke out as a sophomore, who has a 95th percentile target share and has his size. His profile offers true three-down potential. Also, imagine seeing his tweets at the NFL level.
Zach Evans (Ole Miss)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital- Early day 3
  2. Size: BMI: 28.2, not great but not entirely disqualifying
  3. Pass blocking: We found Evans to not be a great pass blocker, he does not always seem to put in all his effort when blocking leading to some errors nor does he not have the best mechanics. Really just below average.
  4. Pass catching: 51st percentile target share in college. He's certainly capable but I am not sure it's anything to be overly impressed with. Not a weakness, not a strength.
  5. Situation: Best case scenario in our eyes for Evans would be for him to be a backup in a good organization at the beginning of his career. Let him learn the tools of the trade before being able to potentially utilize his physical gifts more effectively.
  6. Running ability: Evans's strength comes with his running ability. He can break tackles efficiently, has decent speed/burst and can drive his feet forward well in the pile. Does have some fumbling concerns, fumbling five times over the course of his roughly 300 college touches.
As a podcast, we are not as high on Evans as others. While he does have some redeeming stats in his favor (such as leading the nation in rate of attempts with a forced missed tackle at 25%), his overall profile generates concerns leading into the NFL level. First, we think a lot of his production is aided by his situation. Originally committing as a five-star recruit to play at TCU, and then transferring to Ole Miss, Evans has never been a true starter in a college environment. He lost his job to Kendre Miller (who we love) at TCU and then to star freshman (and 2025 rookie draft pick) Quinshon Judkins at Ole Miss. We do not like he could not hold down a job, and we think a lot of his more favorable stats are products of playing against lighter boxes, in passing down situations and not seeing as many carries. Also seems to mentally check out at times. He could very well turn out to be a solid NFL player but it could take time.
Izzy Abanikanda (Pitt)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital- Early Day 3
  2. Size: BMI: 30.1, ideal size, workhorse body type
  3. Pass blocking: Solid in effort, raw in execution. He will improve.
  4. Pass catching: Not prolific by any means with his 42nd percentile target share, but you feel compelled to through him the ball more given his explosiveness. Serviceable hands.
  5. Situation: Would love to see him in a zone-blocking scheme situation when he can receive tosses and hit the hole with his great speed. We project him as a solid NFL starter.
  6. Running ability: Raw with his mechanics but incredibly fast with great contact balance. His natural quickness allows him to brush off contacts and his sure feet allow him to keep balance. Can breakaway any run.
Overall, we really enjoyed watching Abanikanda's tape. To us, he seems like a pure natural athlete. He is incredibly fast. If he would have run at the combine I would've expected him to hit a 4.3. You can see it in his film too with his frequent breakaway runs. I mean, just watch his Va Tech tape if you can, 300+ yards and 6 touchdowns is just insane. That said, we think Abanikanda's biggest flaw is that he is raw. His route running, his pass blocking and his run timing can leave you wanting more at times. But we think these are things can be learned and it must be remembered he is only 20. He will keep getting better and he has the ideal size, age and athleticism to do so. You're lucky he did not run in the combine, the hype is not building, yet.
Chase Brown (Illinois)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital- Day 3
  2. Size: BMI: 30.0, Ideal size, workhorse body type
  3. Pass blocking: Good size for a blocker and can improve, is willing but has a tendency to miss assignments at times.
  4. Pass catching: 66th percentile target share. I actually liked his hands, they seemed rather soft. Can run the basic routes, solid.
  5. Situation: I think Brown would be best off starting his NFL career in a secondary role. I think he could be a really solid compliment to Ekeler in LA. LA has been looking for years (Josh Kelley, Larry "Price of Brick" Rountree, Isaiah Spiller) and Brown's aggressive run style would tire defenses out for Ekeler and give Brown valuable experience.
  6. Running ability: Very productive in college, he demonstrates great burst when hitting the line of scrimmage as exemplified through his measurables at the combine. But with his burst comes his main flaw. He really only runs at his top speed, which leads to issues with patience for the holes to develop at the line. One of the main reasons I think he would be a good compliment to Ekeler, he would just throw himself at defenders, helping to tire them out.
Chase Brown enjoyed a great combine, it bumped him into this tier that we gathered today. His burst is fantastic, and he runs with aggression and power, especially for his size. He is clearly very athletic with a 9.62 RAS score. He also produced really well in college with a 93rd percentile dominator grade in a major conference. That said though, Brown is an older prospect, spending 5 years in college and turns 23 in a few weeks. You would like his running style to be more refined for his age, exhibiting more patience at the line. Furthermore, we did not find his contact balance to be great. We think Brown profiles as a solid backup option moving into his NFL career.
Tank Bigsby (Auburn)-
  1. Projected Draft Capital: Early Day 3
  2. Size: BMI: 28.5, a little smaller than you would like but not disqualifying
  3. Pass blocking: Solid, nothing more nothing less. Does not project to be a third-down back in the NFL so will not need to be utilized too much.
  4. Pass catching: Honestly, not amazing despite having 30 receptions his final year at Auburn. His hands are not the best and will offer little beyond catching dump-offs and screens.
  5. Situation: We think Bigsby will do best in the NFL as a first and second-down back. He will be that guy to make something out of nothing, a skill learned through Auburn's lackluster offensive line. Pairing him with a pass-catching back would likely result in a really solid NFL backfield.
  6. Running ability: Each one of us separately highlighted one key attribute to Bigsby's game, his vision. He is such a smart runner. He quickly and intelligently identifies the running lanes in his offensive line, misleading defenders and leading his blockers. We think this will translate well to the NFL level. He also demonstrates good elusiveness to avoid tacklers in the box. He lacks elite dynamism but will be a very solid NFL running back. Does run with an upright running style.
Like explained above, Bigsby's running intelligence sets him apart in this class. Being such a smart player and only being 21.5 years old bodes very well for his long-term NFL success in our eyes. We heavily compare him to Jamaal Williams. They profile the exact same physically and we even project them to fulfill similar roles in the NFL, guys who will never receive a majority of the work nor be a star, but he will get you those hard yards against stacked boxes when you need them.
Kenny McIntosh (Georgia):
  1. Projected Draft Capital- Late day 2, early day 3
  2. Size- BMI: 27.7
  3. Pass blocking- One of the more solid pass blockers in the class, frequently shows willingness and ability to block well. Should translate to his projected 3rd down RB role in the NFL.
  4. Pass catching- His strength. A 79th percentile target share for an RB while at Georgia is no easy feat. His wheel route and ability to turn/accelerate upfield after the catch are lovely. Soft hands. Had over 500 receiving yards last season. Love his quickness in the open field.
  5. Situation- Would love for him to slot right in as a team's third-down back. Cincinnati seems infatuated with taking Mixon out on third downs so that would be a good landing spot for him. Hopefully, he goes to a team that experiments with using him in the slot.
  6. Running ability- Not the best runner in between the tackles. He oftentimes does not read the blockers well which will result in indecisive runs. This is especially obvious to the viewer considering he plays behind Georgia's line. That said, in open space, he is very quick. He also surprised me with his ability to drive his legs forward and tacklers backward to get the extra yard.
Overall, we really like McIntosh as a potential third-down back in the NFL. Personally, I'd love to see him used as a slot receiver, he moves and even looks like one. His Oregon tape was his best showing. To me, it shows his future as a dynamic option in the passing game with room to grow in between the tackles. His 40 time (4.62) and size + weight were a bit disappointing at the combine, but his tape really pops in our eyes. But he is not scorching defensive backs. He is also a bit old having just turned 23. That said, we think he will most likely be a solid 3rd down RB at the NFL level with room to improve to see his time on the field increase.
Chris Rodriguez (Kentucky):
  1. Projected Draft Capital- Day 3
  2. Size- BMI: 29.4
  3. Pass blocking- He can be an ok blocker due to his size. But his lack of pass-catching ability does not make you want to put him on the field in those situations.
  4. Pass catching- 34th percentile target share. It certainly is not his strength, exemplified by his 20 catches in 5 college seasons. His lack of quickness in open space does not project him to have much YAC.
  5. Situation- Would see him best fitting into the NFL as a big, battering ram/plodder type back when you need a few yards. Think of someone like Peyton Barber.
  6. Running ability- He certainly fit into Kentucky's power run offense, amassing over 500 carries throughout his college career. He is a big dude who is hard to bring down with arm tackles, and will run a defender or two over. But that's about it. He is not very quick when making his cuts, and can be a bit hesitant when not just powering into space. Does not have great breakaway speed. Dynamic is not a word I would use to describe him.
As a podcast, we did not like Rodriguez very much. We think he fits well with the Peyton Barber comp. We do not think he shows athleticism to be an enticing fantasy option. I'd think the only way he becomes substantially relevant for fantasy is if he receives a high volume of carries. He did produce well at Kentucky, but his size is not good enough to fit this play style in the NFL, nor do we think he has the quickness to compensate for no longer being relatively massive. That said, I think he could still work to get a long NFL career as a short-yardage guy. His toughness and strong contact balance in the box are evident.
Deuce Vaughn (Kansas St):
  1. Projected Draft Capital- Early day 3
  2. Size- BMI: 29.8 (but, as you may have heard, 5'5'' 179lbs
  3. Pass blocking- Frankly, is too small to pass block with effectiveness, Chip blocks if anything, but asking him to do anything else would be silly.
  4. Pass catching. Like McIntosh, this is Vaughn's strength. An elite 96th percentile target share. His burst and quickness in open space are remarkable. He breaks defender's ankles for fun. He also exhibits soft hands and the ability to compete for contested catches, believe it or not.
  5. Situation- Can anyone say Ekeler replacement in LA? Where his comp Darren Sproles started his career? As fun as that would be, Vaughn projects to be used primarily in passing down situations. A coordinator will need to be clever getting the ball to him. Think of someone like Tarik Cohen for a more recent example. Coming in heavier than expected at 179 lbs takes his NFL chances to a much more practical record.
  6. Running ability- Love watching him run just because it's almost like the front 7 cannot see Vaughn when he runs, he just hides behind his line. While being very quick, running in between the tackles is not his strength. If he gets grabbed by any member of the front 7 he is very likely going down. But that's ok, it won't be what he is expected to do in the NFL.
It should be the focus of NFL coordinators to scheme Vaughn into open space with the ball in his hands. He is truly dynamic and incredibly quick. While his size is a detriment, it is not disqualifying given his solid BMI. The obvious comp is Darren Sproles, who also went to Kansas St. If there is a player of recent time to replicate Sprole's career, it would be Vaughn. That said, Vaughn has shown he can carry a workload, alleviating some concerns of being injury prone given his size. He also exhibited very very good production at Kansas St, rushing for nearly 3,000 yards, catching 91 passes and scoring 34 TDs in his last two years. However, being Darren Sproles is likely his best-case scenario. It is unlikely and very hard for a RB of his size to exceed for a prolonged time in the NFL. Hopefully, he can do it because he is someone I would love to watch on Sundays.
Roschon Johnson (Texas):
  1. Draft capital- Day 3
  2. Size: BMI- 29.7
  3. Pass blocking: A very solid blocker. Played fullback at times. Was often asked to block for Robinson. Definitely a strength in his game. Has the size to do the job at the next level.
  4. Pass catching: His 41st percentile target share is solid considering who he shared the backfield with. He won't wow you with out-of-frame catches, but he is certainly capable in the dump-off game.
  5. Situation: I think Johnson best projects as a power back/handcuff option for NFL teams. I can 100% see a world where Johnson is never a long term starter, but is well-rounded enough to spot start the starter or even be a transition starting back for a team for a season.
  6. Running ability- A very strong runner, he has tremendous power in his game. He is sturdy and hits the hole with good burst. He does not have great top speed but has good speed for his size. Not too quick, more bowling ball than a hockey puck.
Like I said above, Johnson just does the basics well. He does not have elite traits, but he just does everything decently. He also was never the feature back at Texas, playing behind someone y'all might have heard of. I think this has wrongly created a mythical perception of Johnson, perceived as this unknown entity with buckets of athleticism and promise. However, I think he is just solid. Jack of all trades, master of none. I'd be excited to see if this results in him being a handcuff option in the future who can slot into a three-down role when needed. He also plays all four phases of special teams, helping him to keep finding roster spots down the road if things go south.

2023.03.23 18:57 Smirkydarkdude Electricity on sale!

Electricity on sale!
First off I should point out this post is for the "Time of Use" plan. APS does have other plans so always check your plan for details.
You probably know this but if not... APS has a super off-peak time period in the winter. But only for a few more days. Deal ends on April 1 and doesn't start up again until next November. If you are with APS you should be aware of it. And the discount time is probably not when you think. After midnight? Weekends? Nope. It's during the week days from 10am to 3pm.
But how big a deal is it? For simplicity let's round off a bit. 3 cents at Super Off-Peak. Almost 10X more during peak (28 cents) and about 4X more during regular off-peak (11 cents).
What does that mean in terms of cost? Let's say you need to clean your oven using it's self-clean feature. It's 240V and depending on the oven probably draws about 10kw each hour. If your oven needs the typical 5 hours to clean that cost at peak is about $14. The cost at off-peak is about $5.35 and the cost during Super Off-Peak is only $1.55.
Same for an EV. If you are running around 70% and need to bring it up to 90%, depending on the car battery size, you need to add about 15kWh to your car. At Super Off-Peak this will cost you $0.46. At peak this will cost you $4.22. I use this time period every chance I can to charge my EV. It's like having gas go on sale. WooHoo!
Why so cheap? Solar. All these homes making solar power. No AC running in the winter, nobody home during the day and during week days to use it.... lots of supply, not much demand. In the summer this deal goes away because everybody cranks up the AC and demand goes up. But it's a smokin deal during the winter.
So long story short, if you happen to be able to use this discount period - maybe set a timer or whatever - it's good to be aware of a sale on electricity.
